For those who have stayed at the POP or any value resort, I guess. Would you deal with the Disney transportation? I have heard a few horror stories. We usually stay at a moderate resort, but decided to try the value out this trip since we never really use the room. I know we always have a heck of time with the buses. We are driving to FL and will have a car.

We were just at the POP for Spring Break, we stayed in the 90s building. Nothing at the POP is very far from the food court so I wouldn't use that as a reason for staying close to the main building. However, the 90s building the the closest building to the busses (literally 2 min walk to the bus!) and it is a central location where everyone gets on at the same station, unlike at CBR.

The bad thing is that we had to stand a lot of the time. It was during Spring Break so that is a consideration. If I was you I would try the busses and if they were too full, then I drive my car to the parks. Have fun

Good news today!!! Our puppy Ozzy had his first follow up EKG since his heart condition was diagnosed over the weekend and everything looks good and the medicine is doing its job!!!!

Glad to hear Ozzy is doing well and the medicine is working.

DH and I and our DS's 2 best girl friends are leaving on Friday morning and driving to NC to possibly have dinner with DH's uncle, we are staying at a hotel and then Saturday going the rest of the way to..... you guessed it DINSEY!!!! We will be staying at our house so I will be watching Fireworks every night.. :cloud9:

Maybe we will do wishes... yumm... popcorn::

We have never been down in Disney for the 4th of July so I was wondering is there a "Special" fireworks presentation? :confused3

I booked several meals for us.. Cinderella at Grand Floridian, Boma, Liberty Tree, and Crystal Palace..

We are heading back home on Sunday the 5th and the rest of the way on the 6th..

We ALL need a bit of a break.. Although, I will be cleaning out our DS's room :sad1: while there and traveling down with some of his ashes to be spread around Florida :rolleyes1

Wishing you safe travels and peace and comfort during this time. It sounds like you will also have a nice break at WDW too. You deserve it.......:flower3:

:cool1:Good for Ozzy!!!!! Boxer, right? I have a soft spot for boxers. I was tiny when we got ours and he attached to me over the rest of the family. Oh shoot, makes me miss him thinking about him.

Good luck and have a safe journey. I believe that they do a special Wishes on the 3rd as well.

I *think* we've figured out our pre-cruise itinerary. (We've already changed it a bunch of times!) What do you think?

We're using DVC points to stay at the Villas at Wilderness Lodge starting Wednesday Sept. 9th. We decided NOT to go to parks  ! We have 3 more park trips coming up w/in a 1 yr period for which we're getting APs. We didn't want to buy tickets for this little extra pre-trip which keeps becoming more and more extravagant!...especially since this morning I snuck a little park time into our plan anyway! :rolleyes1

Wednesday:
Arrive at VWL
Explore VWL and Polynesian
Dinner at ‘Ohana 5:00pm
Campfire & Smores at Fort Wilderness
Chip & Dale’s Sing-along
Movie

Thursday:
Kona Café at 8:40am
Pool at Polynesian Resort
Lunch at Captain Cook’s
Mickey’s Backyard BBQ 6:00pm
Electric Water Parade 9:35pm

Friday
Breakfast at Roaring Fork
Pool at Wilderness Lodge
Lunch at Whispering Canyon 1:40pm
MNSSHP 4pm :yay:

Saturday
Breakfast at Whispering Canyon 7:35am (probably will cancel to sleep in longer.)
Transfer to Port Canaveral

Sounds like so much fun! I can't believe we've got so much planned on a no-park ;) trip! It should certainly get our kids used to staying up late so they/we can enjoy everything on the ship!

This looks really good! Something else that's fun to do is a walk through the woods, or bike ride to Fort Wilderness.

I've stayed at POP and quite enjoyed it. I found the bus service to be just fine. A bit of a walk, depending on where your room is located, but I thought there was frequent service to all points.

With that being said, I think I will leave it the way it is as page one does show me as FE. That way there won't be any dupes.

We have stayed at both value and moderate resorts and honestly find that the transportation is the same no matter where we have stayed.

Knowing as I do exactly what the information looks like that I will be giving to the other organizers, I would strongly recommend reentering the survey.

Page 1 is fine, but hard to work with, as there is no contact information aside from PMing. I look at page 1 as nice to know, but I suspect that folks will be working off the information from the survey.

Honestly, I would not worry about the dupe. I say this because I can "look behind the curtain."

Yes, he's a reverse brindle boxer. They are the sweetest dogs.

We are very relieved. Now we have the echo to look forward to next month.

Stacy - so glad to hear your heading to FL! I am saddened to hear about the next step in your process - cleaning out the room - but my oh my I think spreading his ashes in FL is a great place - I have a friend who is a pilot and has hiw own plane, people often hire him to spread ashes of loved ones - in place that don't actually "accept" the ceremony... like the Grand Canyon... but no one knows and he never takes a dime of their money - Ok, if there is anyone out there who has ties to federal agencies I will DENY DENY DENY...:rolleyes1

I'm sooooo jealous. After working on ADRs for the last couple of week...I want to go NOW!

dr&mom....there's also renting the water sprites and buzzing around the lake and bay....very fun! :boat:

I've been meaning to ask, who is combining this cruise with a stay at WDW, and if so, are you doing it before or after the cruise?

We, for the first time, will be doing WDW before the cruise rather than after.

September 5, Disneyland Family 5K Fun Run

Sept 6 Disneyland Half Marathon

Sept 7-12 Animal Kingdom Villa

Sept 12-19 Disney Magic

Sept 19-22 home and work

Sept 23-26 Villas at the Grand Californian.... Opening night and beyond....

Do I know how to have fun or what? :cool1:

Lynda, glad you could squeeze in four days of work! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Yes, looks like you DO know how to have fun. :thumbsup2

Good point. An option that might be less expensive for multiple people is to rent a canopy, which holds about 6, as opposed to water sprite's 2.

Also, keep in mind that you get a nice DVC discount on boat and bike rentals.

ohhhhhhhh....and I bet if you got it from Ft.Wilderness it would be very convenient to take aboard a fried chicken lunch* from 'Trails to Go' at Trail's End and have lunch on the lake. :thumbsup2 You could boat over and face Magic Kingdom while having lunch....lovely view.

*"Giddyap & Go" 10 pieces fried chicken, fries, slaw and 4 biscuits.

What an excellent idea. A picnic lunch while floating on Seven Seas Lagoon.
