September 10, 2005 - Western Cruise!

Daisy - NO STRESS ALLOWED!!!! :teeth:

fltink- I think I would be this close to freaking out if I were you and my documents hadn't arrived yet!

Is anyone else worried about the hurricanes? I keep telling myself that as long as we make it on the ship, I don't care where we go, but I really don't want the weather to suck.

Kelly, I think Walt will smile down on us and give us a safe and sunny trip! :o) As far my documents go, I'm honestly not that concerned. If they don't come today, I'll call my TA and have her express me some new ones. And don't forget....every time I have sailed prior to this has been while I was woking for Disney. Cast Members don't usually get their documents before hand. They have all of the documents available at the port and it takes about ten minutes to fill them out. So, I'm not stressin. It'd be nice to have 'em though!

I check every day. The only thing that is showing up now is possible tropical depression #14 which is not well organized. This could change however. Just think positively.

Everything about a Cast Member's cruise is tenetive. (This has recently changed slightly) But when I used to sail, all cast members always sail as a GRNTD res. You could end up in a Cat. 12 or even a Cat4, depending on availability. And worst case scenario, you could even be bumped OFF of your cruise if it was full! So you had nothing preprinted. You just filled out your docs and everything at the port with no defined state room # or dining rotation, etc.

Wow, just found these boards and they are great. We will be joining all of you on the Sept 10th sailing(just worried about hurricanes/storms etc).

We booked in Feb/2005 for a Cat 12 gty and we just got our docs and are in a Cat 9, room number i believe is 2016. I noticed this is on the second deck and we have two small children, a 10 month old baby and a 2 1/2 yr old toddler, so is this room far away from dinning/pools etc, how conveniant of a location is this?

We are so excited to be going!!!

We are flying in the night before and staying in a small hotel in Cocoa Beach.....can't wait to go!!!

welcome aboard sandals!! sorry I don't know about your room as this is our first cruise. If you haven't read through the whole thread, we've planned a dismeet for Sept. 10th at 515pm in the Promenade lounge. So I think some people were going to meet up before going to key west and on friday night. before the end of hte cruise.

Well, you are convenient to the forward elevator, which is good. Midship elevator is by far the busiest. There are nothing but staterooms below you, however the club area is right above you. Now, from reading stateroom reports about the area that you are in, however, past guests claim to have heard no noise form the clubs above. I think no matter what, with the ship being full we are all sort of stuck we're we are. But if other guests have had rooms in your area and didn't hear any noise, then I'd say you'll be ok. Welcome aboard!

Welcome Sandals! This will be our first cruise also so I can't help you with what you room is like. But if you go to the top of this page and click on "Staterooms" you can probably find a report of your room from someone who has stayed in it before.

So, at exactly what point should I be concerned if docs still haven't shown?

:rolleyes1

Just to verify.....is this what we all agree on???

Saturday, Sept. 10th
at 5:15 in the Promenade Lounge (Deck 3 midship)

Sunday, Sept. 11th
at 11am in Preludes for anyone that didn't get to the one the day before or who wants to meet up again. (SHOULD WE CANCEL THIS ONE??? DO WE THINK IT IS NECESSARY?)

Friday, Sept. 16th
at 10:45pm in the Promenade Lounge right after "Until We Meet Again" to say good-bye. (sniff) :grouphug:

Haven't gotten mine either. I would call your TA and make sure they mailed them out.

I would be a little concerned about now. Give your TA or DCL a call depending on how you booked your cruise.

Didn't know about the Sunday meet. But we're gonna try and get to the 5:15 meet on Saturday. Any ideas on how we're gonna "recognize" each other?

I actually booked thru Dreams Unlimited and from all I heard, docs are sent directly from Disney to cruiser if booked thru them. I'll send off an email now and see if they can find out something.

Thanks!

Thanks for the replies, seems like it should be a decent location. Wow, I didn't realize that the cruise ship was full! I spent most of yesturday afternoon reading through this whole thread!!

Can't wait to be on board and meet some of you on the 10th!!

I didn't know the ship was full either! How do you find this out? Does DCL ever cruise with a ship that is not full? Except, of course, when some disaster strikes. We were afraid there wouldn't be many children around DD7's age, since school has started back for most everyone by then. We are taking her out of school, so I guess alot of people are doing that also!

I just went to DCL's site and tried pulling up a ressie for our cruise and it gives you an "error" message. I tried it more than once. It's gotta mean that the boat is full.

BTW Judy, We're taking our DS8 out of school. I'm sure there'll be a lotta families doing the same thing. It's the cheapest month of the year to sail DCL.

I found that out when I called DCL to ask some questions and they said, "Well, nothing is promised because the ship is full." It is rather unusual for the ship to be full, especially fo the time of year that we are sailing. However, you must keep in mind that We are the first Western Caribbean Cruise since April so anyone that has been waiting to go on one, this is their first chance.
