It's all right. I only have to drive into work 3 more days. I work from home the other days. At least i'll have time to wash clothes.

You're lucky! I've always thought it would be cool to work from home.

I like my fellow Atlanta Dis'er work from home and in most ways it's very cool and awesome. Except my two little kids keep running in my office telling me to "click on Disney Cruise" therefore I can't get a whole lot done. I find myself working from 5 am to 8 am, and then at night after their in bed. Wouldn't trade it for the world.
Steve

Teleworking in Atlanta is the best. Traffic here is unbelievable and seems to be getting worse every day. At least I drive from midtown to Loganville. I don't have kids running around just have 2 dogs that always want to be petted or taken out. The big one likes to take her place under my desk at my feet everyday I'm home.

And yes I will be bring a pic of my girls with us on the boat. My DH always laughes at me b/c I have to have a pic of my dogs everywhere we go.

gettin abit worried, no travel insurance, its too late to get it isnt it?? what does everyone feel about the storm, u think it will be anywhere near where we are going?

Jay, I will try to keep in touch with DISers onboard right now and they should be able to tell us if it's open when they get there in just a few days now.

12 days to go and counting! (Which means only 10 days until I get to Orlando!) Can I get a, "Waaaaaaaa-hoooooooo!!!!" ?

OH BOY!!!

We have only 12 days left until our cruise begins!!!!!!!

:cool1:  :cool1:

What is everyone doing in Cozumel? I can't decide if I want to do an excursion or not, I think the beach break would be nice, Mr Sancho's looks good, but I don't know about a women with 3 young girls getting in a cab in another country, anybody have any suggestions?

Well, we are huge fans of the safari jeep tour, but the littler ones may not like it because it gets very bumpy. All I can contribute is to tell you that, yes, you do have to be careful in Cozumel. There are lots of areas that are very shady and even the touristy areas can be questionable. An organized Disney excursion is probably the best way to go. I don't suggest a mom and three young girls go wandering around on their own. And not to scare you, but especially watch out for your teenage girls. Men in Cozumel aren't shy about hitting on girls or staring at them. That's not to say anything bad about the people down there because evryone is very nice, but just be aware and don't let Sylvia wander from you at all. Dee already knows she will be attatched to one of us at all times! :o)

Regarding Cozumel.

We (2 women) were planning on doing Chankanaab Park and some shopping on our own, not with an excursion. Do you think this is unwise/unsafe?

Thanks.

We're taking a taxi to Paradise Beach in Cozumel. It doesn't cost anything to get in, there's a restaurant, beach toys, and chairs and I've heard a lot of good things about it from other DISers. I just can't fathom having to PAY to go to the beach! Especially the rates that Disney is charging. Maybe I am just too cheap! Is anyone going to a beach in GC? If so, which one? Or can you suggest one to me?

And Jay - we don't have insurance either. :earseek:

Good morning - I can not believe in 11 more days I will be in route to Florida!!!
Does any one know Disney's policy on cancelling excursions. I have booked the beach excursion in Cozumel and now am wondering if I would not be better off doing Mr. Sanchos beach club on my own??? We had a very uncomfortable beach experience last year in Antigua and swore to always go thru disney from then on - but now I keep thinking what I could buy with that excursion money!!! Any thoughts?? :sunny:

No, you'll be fine. Just like any port, keep money close to you, etc. Don't walk around with cameras hanging out. I just worry about the teenage girls because we are traveling with one and I've been warning her non-stop that she is not to leave my side. :o) Over-protective sister-in-law.

Did any money trade hands? If not, you should have no problem cancelling. We had booked the Stingray City tour for GC onlinde through DCL. But after reading posts on the DIS about Captain Marvins, we cancelled the DCL Stingray City tour and went with the local outfit to save us some money. Did everything online. No money involved. No problem. ;)

Sorry to interject on everyone's posts, but I like helping where I can... debiechelsea, if policies haven't changed, you can cancel 24 hours in advance on shore excursions. (So, you could even wait, talk to the shore excursions desk about your options if you go on your own, and then cancel onboard if you like.) Can anyone else back that up????

My first cruise, we did the beach on our own and I was a nervous wreck! The only thing that kept me sane was that we met up with some people on our cruise that were doing the same thing. I guess I thought at least we wouldn't be the only one if we missed the boat.
The second cruise we did the beach on our own and I was a lot more relaxed, still a little nervous (I guess that thought never leaves your mind) but nothing like the first time. I figure by this time, I won't be too worried at all. (a little bit, because I don't want to jinx myself!!)

It is just too ridiculous what they charge to take you to the beach!

Thanks, fltink. I was thinking 7 mile because we might do an excursion with Capt. Marvins that stops for a "photo op" there and I figured if we liked what we saw we could go back for the rest of the afternoon.

no - no money changed hands - they said they would bill our stateroom account. Also tell me about Captain Marvin's - how much money saved, etc - we are booked on the Disney sting ray excursion as well!! :sunny:

I've never dealt with Capt. Marvins personally but have read nothing but good things about them on the internet. They offer pretty much the same thing Disney does but at a pretty decent price difference. Just off the top of my head, the disney Stingray City excurstion is like $60 something a person (?) - Capt. Marvins is $34. My brother's family is saving over $100 by going with them. And they are located right on the pier if I'm not mistaken.
