Sept 5 2010 "Labor Day Getaway"

Just paid my balance in full today for the Sept 5th cruise on the Wonder.
woo hoo:woohoo: we are so excited! It will be myself DH and my DS age 4 and my DD age 6. Planning to spend a couple days after at WDW.
This will be our first cruise and the 1st time at the parks.
We are from Houston Texas and have planned this for a long time.
Hope to have great weather and relaxation.:mickeyjum

Just booked a surprise trip for DH and myself. He is turning the big 40 right before the cruise. I plan on springing this on him at his party. Let's see if I can keep it a secret for that long.
I'm going to try and get Country Inn and Suites through Priceline also Dodle. Since we don't have our children with us for this trip, we are going to try to do things a little differently.

Welcome aboard!
We booked the Country Inn and Suites for the night before for $50 per room. We need 3 rooms so we all fit. I went through priceline and bid on it. Only 7 months left!!:yay:
Where is this hotel? We won't be renting a car since we will be flying out of Boston and DS will be flying out of Philadelphia. Still debating on going to WDW before the cruise too. That make more sense for us. Use ME from the airport to WDW and then their transportation to/from port. I can put the money (I don't spend on the hotels the night before) toward annual passes so I could plan another trip for next spring. ;-}

Country Inn is next to Port Canaveral. They offer a shuttle service to the ship also. Look online at www.countryinn.com for the Port Canaveral area and it should come up.

Thanks for the cabin number. Fish extenders are things you hang on your door, or beside your door from the fish where messages can be left. They have pockets in them and usually the rest of group leaves little treasures for everyone else. Alot of time it is something homemade that represents the state the person is from. Just little souveniers, really. This will be the first time for these for us. The last time we cruised this really hadn't been started yet. I think it will be fun and will showoff where you are from. From what I understand you don't put who the treasures are from and that's part of the fun... guessing who left what. I've heard of maple syrup from people in New England area, shell crafts from people near beaches and thiings like that. Hopefully most in our group will want to do this and we can have some fun.

Thanks for the answer - now all we have to do is think of a small gift representing the petrochemical state!

What about something that represents the Jersey shore? I've always been told that it is really nice. I think we're going to do something with shells for one room, something to do with weddings for another and I'm not sure what for the third. Just thought of it. One of the girls is from Louisiana so we'll do something with New Orleans.

Hi all!
I am usually just a lurker (forgot I even registered in here until I tried signing up and was told my username/email already existed, lol)

We too (meaning my BF and myself) will be sailing on the Wonder this Sep 5. I've cruised before (though not with Disney) and this will be my BF's first. It was a Christmas gift to him.

Welcome, madamx! I've added you to our list. This made a great present I'm sure. Something that anyone would like. Disney is different from other cruises I'm sure. I've only done Disney and wouldn't think of going elsewhere. My family is doing a wedding while on the ship so we'll have some added celebrating going on. Just a few months left!!:):)

dodle,

Thanks for the welcome and we're definitely looking forward to this cruise. I just noticed that at the moment, our cabins are just down the hall from each other. Right now I've been assigned 7067, however that may change closer to the sail date. ;)

I just called MS. We will be staying at BCV in 2 studios the night before the cruise and again for 2 nights after the cruise for DS and his DGF. DH and I will be staying in a BCV studio for 3 nights after the cruise. Next thing to do will be to purchase park passes. I think DH and I will get annual passes so we can use them next Spring too.

I'm getting excited!

The 5th will be my and my DW's 12th anniversary. We will also be joined by ds who will be 8 and dd who will be 4. It will be our first cruise and we will be in 7512. Now, to go on ebay and look for a fish extender. :cool1:

I've been reading through trip reports and seeing some pictures from verandahs. I couldn't help myself. Really, I couldn't. I've upgraded to cat 6 and we are now in 6608. I've gotten over my fears about my DD4 being such a monkey and taking an unscheduled swim. I'm sure there's some way I can screw the door to the balcony shut. Right? :lmao:

Welcome MB1976! Yes, I believe that the doors can be locked and that they are secure from a child. My son's wedding will be on Nassau day and we are really looking forward to it.

Hey everyone! We're up to 13 cabins and several celebrations that will be going on during our cruise. We're getting there. It's February and we only have to go until the end of summer. It will be here before we know it.

Thanks for the welcome! I hope the wedding goes of without a hitch...er any problems. There should be hitching involved shouldn't there?

Hi and thanks for the welcome (although apparently I joined these boards 5 years ago - I just didn't remember, lol)
