Sept 5 2010 "Labor Day Getaway"

Hi and thanks for the welcome (although apparently I joined these boards 5 years ago - I just didn't remember, lol)

I meant welcome onboard our cruise thread. Lol. This will be DH and my fifth cruise but this is the first cruise for DS and first Disney cruise for DGF. I am excited to see the changes being made at Castaway Cay.

We are celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary in June and wanted to cruise then but the extra night was more than I wanted to spend on 2 cabins. I'm thinking we will probably make a reservation while on board for the Disney Dream in 2011!

LOL, WOW! My minds on vacation already! Thanks for the welcome to the cruise forum! :)

So, I was just wondering how many in here are up for the fish extender thingy? I'm a pre-planner to the extreme and since my work gets very busy come summer it would be easier if I could get a few of these things done before that happens.

I'm all for it and have been reading up in other threads about how it's done, so you can count on me and my BF to participate. Is anyone else interested and if so, how many adults and children per cabin so I can buy the appropriate # of gifts for each?

I'm looking forward to this! :)

Hey!! We're getting closer and closer. If you look on page 3, post #43 it shows how many of us there are so far, I think. I'll double check to make sure it's up to date in a minute. We need to set up a meeting time, too, if we want to try a meet. I'm not sure how many of our party will be able to be at a meet. The "legal" aspects of the wedding take place on board before we leave port. Just over 6 months left:banana::):yay:

I guess I should introduce us: Mike-34, Sandra 31, Christopher 7, and Rebecca 3.

I've been looking at food photos. I'm never gonna loose weight doing that! :rotfl:

No, its no place to lose weight. My goal is always just not to gain any weight.:rotfl: I've updated our list. It's on page 3, post #43. Only 6 months left!!:yay:

Thanks for the list update. :)

The only thing is it's hard to determine in some instances how many people are doing fish extenders and also who is in what cabin, how many kids are in each cabin and how many adults. Maybe we could have a confirmation on those things from everyone who wants to do a fish extender gift exchange?

As I understand it from reading in other threads, you place gift bags in each extender and each gift bag is suited to the age of the recipient. Eg 2 adults and 2 kids in one cabin, therefore I could make up 1 goodie bag for each adult which contains gifts appropriate for adults and 1 goodie bag for each child which contains gifts appropriate for kids.

Just a thought. :)

My husband and I have just put a hold on our room and will be booking with in the week! This is our second cruise and thankfully I won't (or shouldn't) be pregnant this time :rotfl2: WE had no idea about the fish extenders or door decor last time and I think we are going to go a little crazy this time. September can't come fast enough!

Welcome hilton mom of 3! I know what you mean about September coming. Of course on one hand I can hardly wait, but on the other, I don't want to rush the summer either. I love the heat and humidity we get up here in the summer months. :confused3

I'm pulled in two different directions at once. LOL

Welcome Hilton mom of 3. I agree that September can't get here quick enough. How many of you will there be? And if you're comfortable giving it, what cabin number? So far we have 13 or 14 cabins on our meet. Still waiting for the rest to let us know their cabin numbers.

Tried my new ticker and it didn't work. Just put the junk in my signature. Yuk!

After thinking about how the economy is doing in the area and realizing there are some things I need to get done to the house I canceled our reservations. I hope you guys have fun and be sure to write a trip report so I know what I missed!

Mike

Sorry about you not being able to go Mike. I understand about the ecomony, though. It doesn't seem too bad where we are, southern Mississippi. But I think that is due to people still rebuilding after Hurricane Katrina. We also have the casinos nearby which helps. I'm sure we'll be writing reports to let you know how things went.
Take Care

The Hilton Family is booked for the September 5, 2010 Disney Cruise!!!! :yay:

Whoever is adding names to list for the fish extenders here's our roster:

Ryan- 30
Ellie- 32
Max- 5
Robbie- 3
Caroline- 1

We'll be in Stateroom #8520 on Deck 8-

This is our second cruise and I posted that we were tentatively booked, but now it's offical! pirate:

Can you tell I'm excited!

Welcome aboard Hilton Mom of 3!! I've got you added to our list. The list is on page 3, post #43. Sounds like you'll have your hands full but I'm sure you'll have fun with the kids. Ours are basically grown, the youngest is 14. But we will have our granddaughter with us and she'll be 19 months when we cruise. Just six months left!!:yay:

Ok, so here's what I've done. I"m going to assume that everyone on dodle's list that provided a room # is also interested in a FE. So, I've broken down the list of who we have so far into adults and kids. Correct me if I'm wrong but here's what I've got

Adults

Diane
Jim
Bruce
Christina
Patti
John
Katie
Pat
Katie's dad
Katie's step-mom
Guest
Scott
Mary Ryan Ellie
Lisa (myself)
Dave (my BF)

Kids

Mary - 14
Alexis - 19 months
Max - 5
Robbie - 3
Caroline -1

I've done this because I'm going to start buying/making my FE stuff and it's easier to choose and/or make gifts if I know how many and what ages. Have I missed anyone or made a mistake?

That looks like everyone that has posted cabin numbers. But you have to keep in mind that some people are not comfortable giving room numbers on a boards like this. We are going to plan for everyone that is on the board and if we have some left we will have some for us. That being the case we have:
Adults:
Mandy and Dan
Diane and Jim
Katie and John
Patti
Christina and Bruce
Pat
Mark and Ursula
Ursula's mom
Cliff
Scott and Mary
Tina and Patrick
Ginny and Andy
Annmarie and DH
Lisa and Dave
Ryan and Ellie
2 from NC
2 from TX
Todd and Molly
Annmarie's DS and his DGF
Christopher and June
Minnie Mom and DH
Minnie mom's Dmom and Ddad
Tom and Jen

Kids:
Justin, Kelsey and Megan
TX DS4 and DD6
Max 5, Robbie 3, and Caroline 1
Mary 14 and Alexis 19 months
Minnie Mom's DS2 and DD1
Ben 3 and Eliana 1

I think that's all. If anyone else reads this and can give us room numbers, please do so. And please check to make sure our info is right. First names, too, please. Thanks
Less than 6 months!!:yay::banana:

Welcome aboard!! I'll add you to our list. Do you feel comfortable giving your cabin number for our fish extender exchange? I think we're going to have a great time.:yay::dance3:
