Sept. 30, 2006 -- Eastern Magic

Good Morning! Yep, the drugs worked. I've been up a little while. Had to take Bella outside (Jack Russell) and Charlee (cat) needed some love. Yeah! I actually slept. Maybe I won't have to pound the Diet DP today. I'm not a coffee lover but I still need something to keep going (ha).

I had a meeting late yesterday afternoon and I could tell I was talking a little too fast. Bad thing was, my mind didn't seem to be able to keep up with my mouth. It's usually the opposite for me. Too many thoughts and not enough time to articulate it.

Busy day at work. Finishing budgets, a couple reports but the most important is delivering the youngest to preschool for his "apple" adventure this morning and going over information for a test for DS10.

I ordered the boys a gift from Perfect Gift yesterday. Discussed it with DH and think I need to change it a tad. I'll call this morning and have something added. I will say DH gave me that look again (ha) like "why?". Okay, I've gone a little overboard (no pun intended) on the trip. Guess I'm so excited about taking a real family vacation that I'm trying to pack all the good memories into this trip that I possibily can. My closest friends have even pitched in to try and help where they can.

I woke up yesterday concened the child on the pull down bunk would fall off. My DS10 sleep walks and DS4 wonders around. Yep, that's the reason we didn't get a balcony.

I'll check in later. Got to get ready and get everyone up to hit he road. We don't have much time.......sailing date is coming up! Teachers to talk to, meeting to attend, and packing, packing, packing!

Have a wonderful day!

Morning...

Tracey...put the Diet DP down...your post actually sounds like you are typing too fast!! LOL

They said this morning a tropical wave is moving off the coast of Africa...I don't think this will come our way, but if it does, we might be on a western...i am trying not to worry, but I can't help it..I am a wanna-be meteorologist and native Floridian...they go hand in hand

Tracey,

Glad you got some sleep....are we a bit hyper today? :hyper: :hyper: ::yes::

I know I am... ::yes:: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

Gotta run and catch the train into Boston. I actually have to get everything ready for my co-worker who will be covering me. :rolleyes1

Just so you all know. I am generally pretty hyper (hmm, wonder if that came through on all postings). Don't worry, I am a little high energy but I'm almost always very happy! My staff calls me Polyanna which could wear on you a bit if you are the opposite. Don't worry, my DH is very calm, quiet so we balance each other out.

Not to worry about a storm. I'm sure if the route changes we'll still have a fabulous time. My DH is looking forward to the Eastern itinerary so for his sake I hope we don't have to change it but he knows that is a possibility.

Got to go. I'll try to slow down (ha).

Tracey :ccat:

Ok DFIL got his doc yesterday :cool1: :Pinkbounc

We are all on early dining, they have him on late???? :guilty:
What are we going to need to do to change him with us, or do we have to change to late also??

I am trying not to worry about this today, the last thing I need to do. Just hoping we can work it out to all have early because of the boys.

Will start packing this weekend. Have so much to do, and so little time to do it in.

Kim

Can't wait to meet up with all of you. :goodvibes :teeth:

Kim - When you board, just head to the dining room..early dinner is hard to get, so they probably were full and put him on late..you won't have a problem switching I don't think...some people are assigned early and change to late once boarding....

All that being said, being a seasoned cruiser, late dinner is really the best for not being rushed..you don't have to rush from your excursions to get dressed, you don't get rushed at dinner by your servers and best..you don't feel like you are planning your day around "we have to get back to the cabin to get dressed for dinner....GET OUT OF THE POOL!!!"

lol!

I can't wait for Pirates Night, I just purchase tee shirts for us all!!!

The tee shirt is black and on the front it states: Pirates Union, Local 109. Under that is a Skull and bones. The Skull has a Red Bandana on it, the Skull is wearing a black eye patch and gold earring. Under the Skull it states the following: "Not just a job, tis an adventure" Boston, MA pirate: It's totally awesome....Kathy better wear it, I just have to find my bandana's from last year and earrings. I may have to go to the party store for them. One more thing to add to my list...

Tracey, I do hope you know that I am only teasing you. :teeth: :flower3: Considering I am the same way, I'm on super sonic hyper mode most of the time. :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:  :hyper: :hyper: The DH is just like your DH, on calm, and very slow mode. Helps me to come down a notch!!!! Yah, right..... :rolleyes1 But how can anyone not be hyper right about now.....  the cruise is right around the bend!!!!

I should get back to work..... :rolleyes1

DiDi, I feel like I either sound that way or feel that way most of the time (ha). Bless our DH's for being able to handle us. We got married in our 30's so my DH knew what he got. He liked that I was bouncy type of person :tigger: Now, watch after all this running around preparing for the trip, I fall alseep in the cabin and never come out :guilty: One of the girls in my office yesterday was discussing that exact thing with me. She thought I would collapse once on board. I told her not to worry it takes me about 3 days to unwind, I'll relax one full day and then worry about coming home the next 3 (just kidding). If you see me asleep on the beach, please roll me over so I'm burned on both sides.

I'm envious about the shirts. I hope to work on something for Pirates Night this weekend. I have a big celebration at church all day Saturday that I'm helping with and then a walk for ALS on Sunday afternoon.

One of the guys in our IT Dept. made signs for our cabin door. I know, cheating! He's so sweet! Going to try and get them laminated so they won't rip and get destroyed. I'd like to save them for the boys scrapbooks.

:hourglass Countdown is here! I'm so excited! Tracey :ccat:

I absolutely cannot wait until the last minute for anything. I am one of those anal OCD planners who has a list for everything, including making lists :rotfl2: I am so worried that I won't have everything packed that I started packing last weekend. I want to wrap everything up this weekend, as we have things going on every night next week. :confused3 My friend is picking us up at 6:00AM, yes 6:00AM :guilty: Friday to take us to the airport. I want to be in bed early Thursday even if we WILL BE WAY TOO EXCITED TO SLEEP! :Pinkbounc

REPEAT AFTER ME: 8 MORE DAYS, 8 MORE DAYS, 8 MORE DAYS, 8 MORE DAYS :woohoo:

8 days  :cheer2: :woohoo:

I was out this morning picking up some "last-minute" cruise items and it occurred to me that we might help each other if we shared the things we're picking up (yes, I'm paranoid I'm forgetting things). Here's some of my last minute purchases:

Underwater camera for snorkeling/CC
Safe Sea (sunscreen with sea lice/jellyfish repellent)
Road atlas (we're driving to the port, our previous atlas is very old)
Cheap water-resistant watch for beach days (it was $6.74 at Walmart)
Snorkeling gear (Target had nice sets for 75% off)
Pirate accessories for my boys at Dollar Tree
Sand toys at CVS for 90% off--for 19¢ I won't feel bad throwing them away at CC!

I was going to pick up some magnetic paper at Staples today, but it was $12, we won't be cruising again soon, and I can't think of any other use for it, so I hated to spend the money. I looked for magnetized tape but couldn't find any. I'm still trying to come up with an inexpensive door sign. Any ideas?

Betsy - where did you hear about the tropical depression? I've been on the National Hurricane Center site daily  and there still is nothing.

kfeuer - I am printing magnets out on regular paper, going to Office Max to have them laminated (99 cents) and buying a "magnetic roll" at Wal-Mart for $1.97 or some such. I am going tomorrow night for my "last minute items" and went yesterday, last weekend, etc. :lmao: I think I will be picking up "last minute items" for a week :rotfl2:

Betsy, Thanks for the site on the weather. I saved it so I can refer to it later too.

Sheila, 8 more days, 8 more days :woohoo: !

Kfeuer, the guy that helped me with my signs printed them off his computer on regular paper. I'm going to have them laminated and then if I have a difficult time finding magnetic tape, etc., I know this might sound bad, but I was going to take some magnets from one of my kids science toys and glue them on the back. Another reason I was hoping they wouldn't be stolen. I also went to Deals ($1 store) and bought a couple big paper balloons to put on the door the day of DS4's big day (Oct. 5, he'll be 5). Those are stiffer paper so I don't need to laminate them.

I got magnetic sheets (magnet on one side, adhesive on the other) for $1 at Dollar Tree. I made my door sign on regular paper (scrapbooking paper actually) and then just stuck it to the magnet.
Easy and cheap!

I FILLED MY TANK TODAY FOR $1.95 A GALLON. All the paper work and passports are packed, with books for two weeks. My wife won't let me bring up the suit cases till Sunday. :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :cool1:  :bounce: :dance3:

Hi Again,

Jack: That's great about the gasoline. I was excited to see it at $2.39 here in MA.

Also, THE WRIST BANDS CAME:
