Sept. 30, 2006 -- Eastern Magic

Thank you all for your responses. I have to say, my stress level just went through the roof! I just checked my kid's closets and I have NONE of those things. Where have I been :confused3 ? Well, now I know where I'm going...I'm running :car: off to the stores tonight (and probably all weekend) to buy all new clothes! Oh man, leave it to me to wait till the last minute. My DH is renting a tux so at least that will be easy...I hope.

rellyrooly: Do not stress about it. If your DS doesn't own a suit, don't go buy one, a pair of nice slacks and a button down shirt is fine, nice tennis shoes are OK - recycle it and wear it for semi formal night too. Try Kohls or Gap for the pants and shirts. Went looking for formal wear last weekend for DD6 and hit Nordstrom rack, they had some beautiful designer dresses (orig over 100. for 40 something) but I went really cheap and found a beautiful dress on EBay. Try Ross or TJmax for nice dresses for girls...probably will cost less than $15. Or you could do what I did last year...borrowed the dresses from a neighbor...FREE!

See you Sunday,

Jennifer

Trust me...there are LOTS of boys in oxford shirts and chinos...boys don't dress up like the girls...you know little girls..can't pass up a chance to wear a tiara!

DH wears a tux, and all three DSs wear black suits. We'll the be family of 5 with four guys in Mickey bow ties. They love doing this, and I get a nice family portrait out of it.

What's really fun is that DH has grown his fu manchu beard again (red, no less, though there is more white in it than last time :rotfl: ), so we'll have him in beard for formal night, and possibly without it for semi-formal night. Last cruise he did that...shaved midway through the cruise, just for the pictures!

So...how many folks are going to be on-line tomorrow afternoon watching the Magic sail out of PC?

Beth

Evening All,

Kia: I like your idea but there is NO WAY we'll be done before Wed night. That's not including the last minute cosmetics that get stashed everywhere in the luggage. :rolleyes1

Rellyrooly: Don't stress over the clothes. A word of advice for all those new cruisers. Lines for photo's get long & move slow slow allow plenty of time so you won't have to rush through dinner. Also, you don't want to sweat in the nice clothes.

We still have last minute shopping too. I hope to have 80% packed by the end of the weekend. Then it's the last few favorites out of the wash and into the suitcase.

I'm also very glad that part of the new highway system through Boston is reopen so I can get to the airport without a coronary. :drive: :furious:

Still need a couple of Pirate things and I just found the zipper on my camera bag is busted. How come the time is flying now? :hourglass Can we all agree to slow time down Saturday after about Noon?

Need to find my extension cord & surge supressor for the in room electronics. :confused3

Night all & see you soon!!

David

Well, I'm back. I did it. I found formal clothes for the kids. I am ashamed to say that a one hour trip to the mall (Nordstoms-I don't know what I was thinking) cost almost $1000.00! What can I say? Desperate times call for desperate measures. Or, maybe I'm just insane? I rationalize it this way:
DS-1 suit (its about time he had one, he is 9), 2 dress shirts, 2 ties, 1 pair of shoes, 1 belt
DD-1 formal dress (got it a little big so can be worn for xmas, and perhaps next cruise) 1 pair of shoes, 1 hair bow
Me-3 pairs of shoes (DH is making me take one back) and a wrap for my dresses
DH-got measured for his tux.
Peace of mind-PRICELESS! and all in less than an hour!

3 pairs of shoes!! I love it!!

That sooo sounds lik what I would do!

Hey..this time next week...I will be having breakfast at Zachary's Diner( awesome place) and getting ready to grab the shuttle!!

Well, Patrick is watching cartoons popcorn:: and says hi. He can't wait to start packing. :yay: :yay: The usual, his favorite blanket, stuff animals, legos, etc. Opps :teeth: , the favorite blanket does not get packed until the day we leave. Now if only I can sneak it away to get the blanket washed and hope it doesn't fall apart, I'll be happy!!! :rolleyes1

Talk to you all later, time for coffee. :surfweb: and a quick game of backgammon.

At this time next Saturday we will be at the terminal waiting to board. Hopefully we will be in group 2  :cheer2: :cool1:

Started packing yesterday, have 2DS done and I am done, now for other DS and DH.

Have a great day.
Kim

I'm trying to figure out how many extras I have so I can get them assigned to people.

Kim: Did you want 4?
Cindy: You want 2?

Any others? 1st come, 1st served. :)

David

DiDi - my DD is 7, 8 in a week, and still has a blanky at bedtime. I got it as a baby shower gift when I was pregnant with her. She still sleeps with it even though it is tattered and torn. I think she will walk down the isle with it.

Well this is MY weekend:

Last night went to Wal-Mart, bought a CUTE "I Love Jack" shirt for pirate night, DD got a "hook" for her hand and a TON of other last minute "travel size" EVERYTHING! :goodvibes Almost all pirate stuff for Halloween was gone already! Also, the glow necklaces were gone as well. :furious:

Today went to Kohl's and picked up her formal skirt, very cute! 50% off, too! Kohl's already had their Christmas trees out and other Christmas items. I'm sorry, but that is just WAY too early. It's a month befor Halloween for pete's sake! Then I went and got my hair colored and highlighted. No grays showing on this trip! DD has a friend staying overnight tonight so they will keep themselves occupied so I can finish up packing. I am almost done. :woohoo:

Tomorrow, it's off to the salon for hair and eyebrow rejuvenation, aka, Fantastic Sam's for cut and wax :lmao: and to Party America for pirate eye patch and glow necklaces. pirate:

I am watching the Port Cam. Next week at this time, that will be us!!! Looks like good weather for the sailaway party from what I can see! :yay:  :cool1:

David-

Yes, I'll take 2 for my kids. If you have the kids size, cool. If not, we'll still take 'em. My kids have advised me they "prefer" the ones that say cruising with the mouse, but they will take what they can get. How should we get them from you?
Cindy

Hi Again,

OK Cindy I've got you down for 2. I'll try to carry them with me until the sailaway party. When will you be getting to the sihp?

Kim: If you want bracelts I'm holding 4 for you.

ALL THE BRACELETS ARE SPOKEN FOR, Sorry!!

David

i am watching the Magic!!! WEE!! This time next week!

David..you have bracelets for me right?
