Sept. 28th, 2008 - Oct. 2nd, 2008 * Wonder 4 Night *

You're right! Where is everybody?!? Let's find out a bit more about each other and what kind of excursions we're taking, activities we're planning on doing, etc.
OK, me first, me first  Cruising will be Me, DH, DD11, and DD7. The girls have never been on a cruise before, so this could be really interesting. Especially since DD11 has Asperger's Syndrome, and tends to wander off on her own. If you see me looking around with this lost or frustrated look on my face, you'll know I'm probably looking for her. Maybe I should post pics of her around the ship, so everyone can help me keep up with her :rotfl: Seriously, though, she is a sweet girl who would do anything for anyone who will be her friend, so hopefully we can find some other kids her age on the ship. DD7 is a precocious drama queen. See, I told you things will be interesting for us! Anyways, we're still trying to decide if we want to do any excursions in Nassau, or just kind of hang out and do our own thing. The excursions we'd be interested in are pretty expensive, so who knows? I did read elsewhere on the Dis about someone taking a horse and carriage ride in Nassau. My girls would think that was cool, but then they think swimming with a dolphin would be really cool, too (guess which costs more  ). A friend told me the stingray adventure at Castaway Cay is a lot of fun--just don't know how my girls would feel about it. We'll see. Biking looks like fun, too, but last time I rode a bike (at POR, actually), it didn't go to well, so that may or may not be an option. Maybe we'll just chill out on the beach!
So, what is everyone else going to do?

Hello again - it is official - we are booked!! :cool1: I got my DH to sign off on it as long as we don't do WDW this trip. It has been wearing him down although DD and I could go all the time. ::yes::

Our plan is to fly in Friday late afternoon, stay at the Marriott Renaissance Sea World for 2 nights and do Sea World on Saturday. Wake up Sunday morning and drive to the port. After the cruise we are doing 3 nights at either the Hard Rock or Portofino and going to Universal. We are so excited because DD hasn't done Sea World or Universal yet. We wanted to wait until she was older. I think it will be a fun time. :thumbsup2

About us: DH39 and myself (34) and DD7. This will be our 3rd cruise as a family. The other 2 were on Navigator of the Seas and Liberty of the Seas, both Royal Caribbean (we loved both!) I have wanted to go on a DCL cruise but we hesitated because of prices and lack of casino/adult entertainment. I think now that we have 2 cruises done, I think we will prefer the family entertainment we will get from this cruise. We are in a GTY 6 room. Looks like I won't find my room out until a month ahead of time.

We are debating whether or not to do Atlantis at Nassau. I am not sure if it is worth the cost. I think we will wait until DD is a little older to enjoy those massive water slides and such. We already did a dolphin excursion in Cozumel so I will have to further investigate what our Nassau plans will be. For Castaway we are going to have a family morning on the beach, go biking, eat lunch and then sign DD up for Kids Club and DH and I will do Serenity Beach for a few hours.

Looking forward to meeting you all!

Just found this thread, this will be our 6th DCL cruise. No kids this time, just my DW and myself.

My DH and I will be on board - his birthday celebration and my second cruise (first for DCL)

I'd be interested in doing something with the Fish Extenders! :)

Kellie

I had to change my ID due to massive loss of brain function on my part. (I am way too forgetful for my own good sometimes!) DH and I will still be attending - He'll be turning 40...and wishing I'd forget that fact! :)

We just took an extended family cruise on RCCL with about 12 of us. This one is just our small family. DH, myself and DD7. We are from Redskins territory but I am an Eagles fan. Do you still want to be friends? ;)

Ordered our fish extender tonight. Trying to figure out what to get ready to share. Any scrapbookers (besides me) amongst us? I have some ideas, but want to bounce them off folks first!

Only 3 more months, and 3 more days till we're on our way! :)

Hi Cruisin

We booked back in Feb 08. I know what you mean about just being on the ship - cant wait.

Looking forward to the beer, wine & martini tastings - lol!!!

Claire

I just took a quick look back thru the posts on this thread and it seems that we have 5 out of 13 Cat 12 GTY cabins booked amongst us.

That means that you guys will probably get an upgrade and I'll stay in the Cat 12:lmao:

Always seems to happen that way to us.:thumbsup2
