It seems that they start to assign them about 1 month or so before the cruise date.

Sometimes it seems to take them a bit longer.

I just looked and there are now some Cat 12's available for our cruise.

Do you think that means they have upgraded some of us

My DW (29) and I (29) will now be joining you all. We have a DD who is 20 months old, but decided to let her stay with Grandma this time.

This is the cruise we originally wanted, but when we were ready to book, it was full. So we started with a 3 day (on Sept 25). When I went back on the DCL site today I saw it was open again. For $76 more we get to do the 4 day instead of the 3 day. DCL was awesome and made it easy to transfer everything (even the onboard credits) to the new cruise. We will be in room 2086 (a Cat 9). Since it's our first cruise, I thought we would need some natural light.

This will be our first cruise EVER, lol. We would be happy to join in the FE, just have to order one off of ebay.

As far as excursions go, since it will be just us, we plan...or I guess I should say I plan on us going on the Discover Atlantis Tour ($39 per person). Other than that I would like to hit Hard Rock Cafe, Harley Davidson, the Tortuga Rum Cake Factory (where else can you get 51% of your daily suggested fat intake in one serving?), and you can't forget the Straw Market. All are within walking distance from the ship from what I've been reading on the boards. I know some people say they don't care for Nassau, but since it's our first trip, I would like to see it first hand. Initially I thought about the aquadventure, but I would hate to use all my time there and miss out.

As for Castaway Cay, I think we're just gonna make it simple and do the snorkel, bike, raft rental ($36 per person I think). We've never been snorkeling and this seems to be the perfect place to do it.

Realize, we're not TRYING to go cheap, it's just these seem to fit our interests. I guess it saves some cash for a few spa treatments and those Konk Koolers I've heard so much about!

OH, I don't have them booked yet. Since this is our first cruise, we can't book until 75 days prior to the cruise date. I think July 15 at 12:01 we can book excursions. If you are a castaway club member (meaning this is at least your 2nd cruise), you can book up to 90 days before your sail date. If a romance package was booked, or you have concierge status, I believe you could reserve Palo at 105 days out. I do know that the preliminary bookings for Palo go fast, sometimes the individuals booking at 75 days out don't have the opportunity to choose Palo; however, once you board the ship, you can make reservations then.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong on any this. All I know is from what I've read on the DIS, DCL, and my own research on the web.

We need to decide FE gifts.

Do you want to give:
1. one a day to each family?
2. one a day to each family member?
3. one for the whole cruise for each family?
4. one for the whole cruise for each family member?

Would you also like to have a best decorated door?

churros, I just wanted to let you know that we are going to opt out of participating in the Fish Extenders this trip.

I hope you all have fun doing this.

Maybe you can return to this thread after the cruise and report on the types of things that you received.

As far as the fish extender goes, I like the idea of one per day per family, though this may get difficut with everyone's schedule. I also gotta figure out what items to include from Indiana...not a lot happens here, other than sports, and I'd hate to offend by putting an Indianapolis Colts item in someone's fish extender, lol.

Although we may skip out on the best decorated door, I plan on having a few items up so I can find my door when returning to the room after a LONG night.

BTW, does anyone plan on going all out for the pirate party? I wasn't sure how much I should "invest" in this evening.

Anyone interested in doing just the kids one per day and maybe one family gift per cruise? I have never done this before can you give me an idea of what type of gifts to buy?

i also think just 4 the kids i would have no idea what to get the adults and instead of every nite 2 or 3 would be better incase one night im too drunk to find the numbers on the doors i would do the door decorating contest however ive only done the magnet exchange so if some one could give somr ideas on FE gifts id love ya 4ever

I think just the kids, and maybe one family gift. I've got to figure out how I'm going to carry all this down--I only get one suitcase for a 10 day trip Maybe I can ship FE stuff down with the sand buckets I purchased today at TRU for only $1.18 each! Then I'll just probably leave the buckets at CC with the CM's there for other kids. I need to figure out how to do the magnets. I've found a lot of cool things on the DIS, but how do you actually do them? Are they 8 1/2 x 11? Do you print them out and attach them to magnet sheets, or just print them directly onto magnet sheets? Need help!

By my count it looks like around 25 - 30 kids on the list so far. If we do the kids only, does that mean we put one thing per child (30 things per night?!) on the FE? Or do I not understand how this thing works? Somebody help me!

I'm all in for the FE, and think my kids would love it, but taking 30 gifts per night for even 2 or 3 nights is alot of stuff! And where in the world would we fit all the stuff from everyone on the FE? Again, I am probably just confused !
