Sept. 23, 2012 Pacific Coast - Wonder Cruise

Come to think of it, it must be a mistake. I can't image them scheduling a deck party on a night when a lot of the guests may be off the ship.

It shows it on mine too. I spoke to DCL CS earlier to cancel an excursion and I asked about it. She assured me it's Friday, not Tuesday. I'm packing my pirate stuff. Arrr! pirate:

Welcome to all the new folks on the thread!

I hope Pirate Night is Friday, because I went and bought a t-shirt for the occassion! pirate:

Marian, I hope your flight got off ok!

I cannot believe how quickly it is coming up! I got a lot of FE stuff done this week now that DD is back at school. BUT I have not even thought about packing! I really need to get on that! I really need to figure out what we need to bring and how I'm going to get all our clothes and FE gifts safely to CA!

Hi everyone! I just found this thread and have been reading through all of the pages. We just booked this cruise about a month ago and we are so excited! We usually take a trip to Disney World every year but decided to try something different this year. This will be our first Disney cruise. Looking forward to meeting everyone. Our son is 5 and will be excited to meet some new friends! :)

Happy Saturday! I just got caught back up again and hope that the next two weeks are sane (both at home and the office).

Marian Safe travels and hope you all have an incident-free awesome trip and first legs to your vacation.

:welcome: to everyone that has recently joined our growing group as well.

Not much new to report from here. More leaves have begun to turn on the trees and it is all of 51 degrees here this morning and only heading to the mid 60's so Fall is starting to move in. While I am not happy with what comes after Fall - I am thrilled that the 90 plus degree stuff has 'left the building'. Not so good - from my standpoint anyway.

I took the time a few weeks ago to sort of get DH's clothes lined up so this weekend I need to do the same for me and make sure I have what is needed. I also need to propel DH to the saw so that he can get the FE's started. We will probably just pack them as that seemed to work the last time we took them.

Who leaves next now that Marian has begun her journey?

Have a great day!

Happy Saturday Morning from Sunny Southern California! It is supposed to be in the high 80's today. I was born and raised here and still can't stand the hot weather.

I've not been on this board lately as I'm more of a Facebook fan and have been keeping up there. But I get my weekly updates on email and have loved reading the threads, especially the one about the giant prawn. That gave me the giggles at work. :rotfl:

I need to start packing for the trip. DD doesn't know anything about it, so I need to do a little bit each night after she falls asleep. I don't plan to tell her anything. I will let her figure it out when we arrive at the Port. My friend who is traveling with us hasn't told her DD either. I am hoping to capture the moment on video.

Other than packing, I'm ready to go. Even have my Sea World tickets printed out. FE gifts are done, just need to finish labeling them.

Welcome to all the newbies. Safe travels to all who will be heading this way soon. Praying for a safe flight for Marian and her family.

I think we'll try to get a DL night in this coming week. We are So Cal AP holders and haven't seen Cars Land yet! When we went last time, DD opted for DL over CA Adventure.

I hope everyone has a great weekend. Counting down the days!!

We made it to America and they let us in! :cool1:

Got out of our local airport okay, which we are very grateful for as it went seriously to custard after we left and had all the Aussie part of the Disboard worried. http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/7638643/Plane-passengers-scream-in-terror-as-winds-hit-capital You can hear a Kiwi accent on that clip too, so you can be prepared for our accents.

Koru Club lounge was amazing. I could live in that lounge, the food, the kids room and the most divine showers in the universe. We even had the flight manager and concierge come around and spend time with us going over everything for the flight. The kids got free entertainment packs, the concierge was waiting at the Gate to meet them boaring the plane and handed them these two cute little packs that none of the other kids got, so they were very happy.

Oli couldn't get comfy on the flight. I don't know why, he's the smallest in the family. Finally he got comfortable sleeping all over his brother and me. I spent the night rearranging the kids as they were moving all over while asleep. I was so tired I was actually sick towards the end. DH and I are pondering Sky Couch upgrade on the return flight to give us some more space the kids can sleep as it's 13 hours.

Got our rental and they pixie dusted an upgrade. Yay. I can't ever drive here tho', while I'm getting adjusted it's not for me as it's the other side of the road and everyone drives really nice cars and I might hit something. I'm paranoid about the kid crossing the road as we look in the opposite direction first.

I'm in love with Trader Joes salads. I don't need any other food in the US, I'll just get those and eat in the car in the parking lot! :)

Off to Carlsbad tomorrow, the kids were very upset Disneyland and Legoland were not right by LAX when they stepped out of the terminal. :lmao:

Yikes! I hate flying in that kind of weather. I love the accent, BTW.

Welcome to the States! We love our NZ visitors. You'll be seeing a lot of California while you're here; Carlsbad is more like where I grew up in the shadow of DL (I'm as old as DL). When you visit LegoLand, and wonder why the heck they put it there, you'll get a feel for what Walt was asked when he placed DL in the midst of orange groves. Its definitely a different kind of theme park; I think its good you're going there first and then to DL.

Marian, welcome to the US! I'm glad the flight went relatively well and that you didn't have too many delays. enjoy the next two weeks!

I cannot believe that in two weeks we will be on the Wonder!

Welcome to California! We're about 15 minutes east of LegoLand. I hope you enjoy our neck of the woods.
We'll be working on FEs today and starting to think about what dresses to pack for dinners. My cats are not liking the suitcases being out. They're starting to suspect something is up.

WOO HOO - Welcome to Cali!!!!

Darn, I didn't realize that you were staying the night near LAX. I would have dropped by to see you at the hotel. Well, I'm sure you were all really exhausted after the trip anyway. Can't wait to meet you!!!

My dog is the same way! She was boarded last month for a week and she came back skin and bones because she diesn't eat while we are away. I am going to have to reassure her that she isn't being boarded when I start to pack for this trip. Luckily grandma is watching my boys here at my house.

Welcome to the US! I watched that video - didn't look like much fun to me at all but glad you are all here, safe and sound (and sorry you got sick, I have decided that being warm is worse than being cold).

Well, I have clothes hanging in a special place to packing. I have to take DH's suit to the cleaners tomorrow on my way to the office and his shoes to the shoe shop as he pulled an eyelet out. Rough guy! Now I need to clean off the spare bed so that I can begin to lay out just cruise items to be packed and then I will be ready to rock and roll. If it is all, I won't put it into the suitcases until maybe Thursday evening.

Not much else to report from here so I hope you all have a good rest of your day and those waiting on cabins get lots of pixiedust:tomorrow as didn't I read that as assignment day????

My Mom is doing the same thing (watching the kids at my house). It makes it so much easier not to have to pack them up too. Plus they will do homework better at our house, having all the stuff they need, etc.

I do feel a little bad for my Mom though. That week is kind of busy for school. DD has late start on Tuesday, DS has early release on Wed and then Back-to-School night for DS is on Thursday. It will keep my poor Mom jumping to get the schedule straight :lmao:

I'm glad that your dog won't have to be boarded this time. Plus she will be happier having the boys around too :thumbsup2

Yeah, if they follow the same schedule as they have for the other cruises, it should be tomorrow :cool1: :cool1:

Well, if we were leaving today, I would be telling you all to bring lots of shorts. :rotfl:

Weather.com says a high of 86 here today, but it seems hotter already. If it stays like this; LA, San Diego and Ensenada should be really nice (with SF a little cooler). Disneyland had to have been in the 90's yesterday. I went in capris and a tank top, and when we arrived at 6:30am, it wasn't even cold on the tram ride. Based on that, I knew we were in for a hot one :rotfl2:

My MIL will be busy too with sports and runiing them to and from school. However, the one thing I am most stressed about is school pictures! LOL The boys have theirs that Monday. I sure hope my MIL combs their hair well. Worst case scenario, they have make up pics two weeks later! :lmao: I won't tell my MIL that though.

LOL - I'm sure she will do great!!!

My sister just sent me a picture from her hotel room in San Francisco. She said the weather is perfect, sunny and nice!!! Fingers crossed that it is that nice in two weeks!!
