oK..oK.. to bad guys work is a bit slow now so you are stuck with my super mini trip report to the Chinese Diner... and I did resize the pics so it is not gigantamus Ok...

after popping the Rolaids... it is time to stop by at the rest room for a quick stop...

then off to the elevators... we are on the 3rd floor... the members of the coup...

yes they are telling me I am crazy for taking pictures... I have worked with these two forever... we click very well... we three love to eat...

getting off to the ground floor is our Java City... Starbucks Look alike but it is close already as seen below...and yes... we do have escalators too

finally we are out... we are in the woohooo chinese food good food

we are here!!!!! did not get to take a picture of the whole Diner persona since I was in a hurry to get in... next time

the real Appetizer... huh... what shape... aahhh that... huh.... oh you mean a hidden Mickey...

I ordered white rice with chicken brocolli and egg roll and egg drop soup!!!

They ordered the pork fried rice, green beans on chicken, wanton soup and egg roll... and yes it is also diner price range... we paid $6.95 each plus tip of $1.00 and it also comes with dessert... you have a choice between ice cream, pineapple spear x2 or sliced oranges

after a hearty meal... we hea back to work and made it in time...

My parents never saw the inside of our schools either. When I passed out after slipping on the shower floor in 6th grade they couldn't find my mother so I had to lay in the nurses office all day and then I walked home. Even the time I got suspended for knocking a girl out (she hit me first) in 8th grade. My mother told the school to keep me or drive me home themselves. That was when my principal asked me if I would like to live with him and his family. I said yes but my mother said no. That man took me under his wing in Middle School and made a huge positive impact on my life. I still think about him often. Sadly, he passed away a few years ago. I am not trying to one up you because I would bet your parents were the same. I am also thankful it wasn't worse than it was and my adulthood is so making up for my childhood.

As you can imagine I did the total opposite like you and Minnie when it comes to parenting. This is also why I chose foster care and adoption because I could relate with the kids and wanted to give them better. I am fortunate that Will and I are really close despite my being strict with him. I am hoping that if I got to 14 and am still close with him we will be close later on. If not I have all the home movies of him singing me love songs and telling me how much he loves me when he was little. lol I will just have to mass produce copies and send him one every week till he realizes he still loves me. lol Kind of like subliminal messages.

That is the camera I originally suggested you to get. It is supposed to take really good pics too. I wonder if it would survive being run over by a doom buggy? lol FYI, it takes a totally different media stick than you have and it is not the typical SD cards. Maybe you should look for an indestructable cell phone too. lol

I am so glad to hear your DM will be coming and I hope she realizes it is easier to just go home for 6 weeks and stay near you the other time.

After seeing your pics I understand how you got addicted to coffee.

OK...I am beginning to notice a reoccurring theme here on the Pop Tarts thread...family problems and dental problems
I am very lucky to have grown up in a wonderful home with two wonderful parents...we had our typical up and downs, but overall it was great!
On the other hand, DH stopped speaking to his Dad before we were married and barely speaks to his Mom (they are now divorced.) So he is super committed to be the Dad he never had to our son.
I almost had to have a root canal a couple of years ago but the dentist was able to avoid it (with a really deep filling! ) I was there just last week and all is well...that reminds me, I better go brush and floss right now!

the scary part is... this is a tooth that had a root canal done.. and has the post... and the tooth cracked.. which means... the crown might not have anything to hold on to

my own fault.. I kept delaying my trip to my dentist... she is in Bayonne, NJ which is like NYC already... to lazy to drive...

I know .. why that far... well I never have luck with other dentist.. but her being almost like family ( I was there when she got pregnant with both kids... she was told to give up trying... but they both came.. and everytime she has the baby... I become a God Mother yes thats how long I have known her because of my teeth situation)... I can complain and complain and complain and she when is done listening to my complains she just gives me novocaine to shut up

No need for excuses...we continued going to our dentist in Pennsylvania for two years after we moved to Texas! MY DH went to high school with her and we just scheduled our appointments when we were going to be in town visiting! Finally got a dentist down here

You poor thing burning up in the heat. I wish I could send you our cold and trade you for some heat. I love shorts and t-shirts and would trade them for the jeans and sweatshirt I am wearing. I am fluffy enough without all the extra clothing. lol

Ah the quiet here in the morning with DH off to work and DS off to school. Today was DS birthday and he came down with a huge smile and said I want pancakes, sausage, eggs, and cake and make it snappy. What a kid he got everything he wanted except for the pancakes. Thank goodness he only has a half day today he gets over excited on his birthday. I have to let him open his gifts before he leaves for school because I fear he would burst in school wondering what he got and the teachers would not be happy. lol

Started planning for my April 2009 trip today. It's 180 days til the first day of my reservation. When I spke to a CM I was told part of the system was being worked on so I wouldn't be able to make dining reservations until November 21st.... except for CRT & Chef Mickey's. So I made breakfast reservations at CRT & Chef Mickeys. I am considering switching the CRT to a dinne though. What do you guys think?

Ants, I do not see how you keep so slim and trim with all the great food you eat and cook.

Kristin, growing up in a normal home must be nice. That is why you are so much saner than Ang and I. (ducking from the big rock that Ang just slung my way)

Ang, my home life was not as bad as yours. My father once took his gun down to someone's home and threatened to kill them because they were messing with me. My parents loved me, in their own warped way, I think. It was just difficult growing up with "Leave it to Beaver", "Donna Reed" etc. and my home did not look a thing like them. BTW, my ds told me he loved me daily and did many kind things for and with me right up until the day he plunged the knife into my heart. Will is too open and caring to ever do so though. Happy Birthday pal! I miss you. I am still expecting to see you pop up beside me even now.

Doctor's appointments every day this week but this so I will be around only here and there. Life is good but a bit wearing right now.

Minnie, I know what you are talking about when you say that babies require a lot of care. The equipment to get them from here to there is daunting as well. I took care of my youngest grandson his first year of life and as much as I enjoyed it I also just about wore out. I made a video dairy of that first year and even have his first steps taped. That would make a great present for your family since you are there during the day.
