Sept 20,2011 Wonder Repositioning Cruise

We are getting excited:yay:, not much longer. We have not finalized our plans for after the cruise, but everything else is set. Not sure if we will do 2,3,4,5 days at Disneyland. So thankful everything up through the cruise is paid for:cool1:, just trying to squeeze out a little more from our tight budget

We will be packing light, one checked bag for both of us and one carry-on each as we are traveling by car, train, plane, shuttle, and cruise ship :).

Based on our last cruise we are going for layers as the weather will be different from beginning to end. Even if we spend more than two days in Disneyland, we will have to do laundry :laundy:before we get off the ship.
My packing is easy:rolleyes1: shorts, Dockers, cargo pants, polo shirts and one dress-up outfit. I will bring a Disney hoodie and a wind breaker that zips into its own pocket.

I too am looking forward to bargains :teacher:on Alaska Cruise clothing.

I have been sending my daughter cruise info to get her in the mood for our trip as well as deck plans for the Wonder as this will be her first Disney cruise. She sailed with my wife and I, 6 years ago on Royal Caribbean.

We do not plan on any excursions, just get off the ship and check things out.:dance3:

I don't how much we're going to pack in the way of clothing, but I KNOW we're going to have one whole suitcase just for the FE stuff... I know it's going to be kinda like this: :laundy:

well hopefully what you bring home will be less than you're packing so you'll have lots of room in that suitcase for souvenirs ;)

so many people are NOT getting off the ship in Ensenada....what is the point of going there??? maybe we all need to call DCL & request a different port due to safety reasons (San Diego or Catalina Island???)....

If I get off the ship there it'll be just to check out the port market stalls...Not planning on venturing very far at all.

Still, doubt that DCL would change ports at this late date.

Same for us. If we get off it will just be in order to purchase something to say we were in Mexico, lol.
I wish they had some more kid friendly excursions. (and no I don't want to go to some pool party when we can swim in the pool on the ship for free!)

Would have loved a beach excursion! And DH and I have always wanted to Zipline!

Hey what about tequila? It is the best and the cheapest in Mexico!

I have no interest in getting off the ship in Ensenada because I've been there multiple times...

Best to check with US Customs about bringing back alcohol. In the past there have been restrictions on the amount each adult can bring into the US.

Less than two months!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

I need a clean place to sleep the Monday before we sail. Help!!! I had wanted to stay at the Pan Pacific, but it really makes no sense to stay at a 4 star hotel for showers and a fitful sleep.:eek: We will be sightseeing all day Monday, then dinner, then just hit the clean sheets and be too excited about getting on the Wonder the next day to sleep.:laughing::laughing:

So, where can we lay our sleepy heads in Vancouver that won't break the bank, yet won't have us waking up covered in bedbugs......:scared1::scared1:

I hotwired a hotel in downtown Vancouver and got the Sheraton Wall Center for $154 USD. (including taxes)...I felt I could live with that. I wanted the Pan Pacific too but couldn't find it for under $250

I'm amazed at all light packers. Dh and I each take a carry on plus two checked bags. Last cruise, the porter after grabbing our six bags even asked if all the bags were just for us. :rotfl: What can I say, I like to shop on vacaction. ;)

We booked Pan Pacific for $228 in March but of course after taxes it ends of being $270. I'm not worried about the price, it is a beautiful hotel and we love the location.

It really is the ideal location.
Even after I figured in taxi's to the Sheraton and then again to the pier, staying at the Sheraton was mush more cost effective...and since it's centrally located downtown I thought it might encourage me to walk around a bit.

Still....I envy you! The ease of being there will be well worth the cost!

I am crazy or are there a lot less people then the last list??

Hard to believe that time is moving so quickly, when we originally booked te cruise was about 500 days away, now we are looking at 55 or something? I am hoping the weather gets a bit (ok a lot!) nicer than it's been, one of the wettest summers BC has had in a long time.

Great minds think alike.

Tequila and a “Day of the Dead” decoration, I can use for Halloween. That’s what I plan for my souvenirs of Mexico.

Well, may be a piece of silver too.

Lol, you are not crazy. A new poster wanted to join a couple of weeks ago with five cabins but then she changed her mind. Our core list remains the same with me just editing cabin numbers as cruisers make changes. I doubt anyone else joins in August but you never know. Is our cruise sold out yet?

Hi missJ,

what is a PathTag?

Wow I can't believe this thread grew over 15 pages since last time I checked in. April got crazy with MIL in the hospital but she is back at her house now so DH and I can breathe easy again.

I love the group logo, Great job:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I plan on making Pathtags for my FE gift so I might try to include the group slogan on the tag.

Hi missJ,

what is a PathTag?

A pathtag is a small collectible token, popular among the geocaching community but also popular among coin collectors. You can check out pathtags.com if you want to learn more info. My husband made a design for the cruise and then pathtags.com turns them into a small coin. The pathtags came in a couple of weeks ago and I am so happy with how they turned out.

I realize most cruisers here won't have any idea what a pathtag is but I decided to give them out as gifts anyway because the coin can be used in many different ways. The coin has a hole in it so you can wear it on a necklace, put it on a keychain, or clip it on a zipper pull. And it is Disney themed so it will be a cute little momento of the cruise.

Sounds kinda like a version of the military "Challenge Coin..."

That sounds really neat Jennifer. I can't wait to see it.
