I am probably not booking the whale watch excursion. As to your query about the Whale watching tours, There are many with good reputations up in Victoria.
If you don't mind me asking. What is the company and the time of the tour?

Is anyone signing up for the whale watching excursion for the Victoria day? DH found a company that has way better reviews then the Disney excursion so we might be taking a non-Disney tour.

With this being our third Disney cruise always taking the Disney excursions I think we might expand our horizons and try something different. Anyone have experience doing a non-disney excursion?

I think it is great that you are traveling with 5 other families, but I'm not sure how I feel about a group gift from 6 cabins that would include approx. how many people ? In exchange for a good sized gift bag of goodies. Maybe it's just me, but if I'm going to spend the time, effort and money to participate, I would hope that EACH cabin that participates is willing to do the same. Again, it's not the $$$ amount that matters.... but if 6 cabins are going in together, and 5 of those are new to FE's. I"m concerned that their "hearts" won't be in it if they are not part of this board. Anyone else feel the same or am I going to become Grumpy Goat's new best friend on the cruise.

LOL I am Grumpy Goat's sister. I have similar thoughts. I just got Momto3princesses info and she is adding 26 individuals to the exchange, 6 families. I need two more room numbers from her before I send the info out thru dis pm's.

Hi -- I spoke to a few friends today and we have decided to do our own FE exchange. We are all neighbors/friends and have a lot of children going so it will be easier for us to coordinate and personalize our own gifts.

Question, I have found M & Ms that can be personalized with Mickey's face on it and a short quote. Would something like that work if they were packaged cutely? Or do I need to be knitting Mickey touques?

We've done Disney and non-Disney. We preferred the non-Disney because we were able to design them for our family and needs. Stop for snacks, go to next venue earlier than planned, stop for more pics, etc. We even did non-Disney in Europe.

LOL. Mickey M&Ms sound cute. Plain M&Ms are also great gifts -- need to snack on something in the theater.

Mom, a ticker is the picture (usually) at the bottom on the post that as a countdown until the cruise (ie 68 days until we set sail with Mickey and friends ). I didn't make you one because frankly I couldn't figure it out myself

Lets not let to FE "cat out of the bag" either, its a surprise And NO I am not learning how to knit to make Mickey ears, though I wonder if you can find those on Etsy???

See the "ticker" below that shows the Wonder with 2 months & 1 day till our sailing date? that's my ticker....or countdown if you will and yep it's ticking away. We thought HP was fabulous as well - saw it in Real 3D along with Dbox seats!!! a GREAT experience!!!

i did these to have for DS' HS grad = i think they said Ryan 2009 on one side & St Francis on the other & it was all very legible - amazing what they can do isn't it?

Anyone else starting to think about their wardrobe? I expect Vancouver and Victoria may be a little cool with things warming up as we head south. I love strolling the promenade in the evenings and wondering whether a sweater will be enough or if I'll need/want a jacket.

You shouldn't need a full-on winter jacket, but I'd think a light jacket would probably be a good idea. I'm trying to think back to when I was in school and what kind of stuff I wore on the first day back in Sept. I think it was long sleeves and jeans mostly, with a light jacket for outside. Of course, it could be cooler on board as we will be in ocean waters along the coast, and not inland where I live.

I think I have been planning my wardrobe since we booked this cruise!! When the four of us get together, that is the main thing we talk about. I have decided to bring my costume for Pirate night. As for the evenings, I usually have a shawl for the different restaurants cause you never know how chilly they might be. I always bring my one jacket that zips and it has a hood for just in case. It is like a sweatshirt but it zips and is perfect to use in a pinch. It is always better to layer
I also always bring that jacket on the plane since you can never tell how cold it might be and I would never use any of their blankets.

When we get closer to sailing time, I was going to call my SIL who lives in Murrietta and ask her how the weather is. When I lived in San Diego, I remember September as being hot unless the Santa Ana winds were blowing. I plan to bring two pairs of jeans and two pairs of capris and just switch back and forth. It is easier to bring lots of shirts and change before the evening. One can always sent things out to be cleaned and we found that was easier when we were on our 14 day WBTA.

these last two months have really gone by pretty quickly, so i'm guessing the next two will as well
