Ever since DS got his license, we’ve had a built-in shuttle service! Prior to that, and in future if he ever becomes unavailable, we use the park-and-ride private lots at the airport but it’s very nice now not to have to spend that extra money.

If going to O'Hare, in the past, a taxi. Most recent trips, which have been with the grandkids to WDW, like you, a limo (kids loved it, I did also). If using Mitchell Field in Milwaukee, drive up the night before, stay at hotel, hotel drives over to the airport next day, picks up on return.

Have a super trip to WDW, Sandy, you, Kevin and your best buddy, Katie. All your planning will pay off, as you know.

Timely thread. Made an unexpected plane reservation last night and now need to do the same for the ride to JFK on Sunday.
Fortunately, Uber offers wheelchair accessible rides in NYC now so the hardest thing will be to pay for it, lol.

Used to take public transport to the airport($5.00 p/p) and Uber back (avg $35.00) but you gotta go with the flow.

We’re leaving the house at 4am, so it’ll be an easy trip

We are about 40 minutes or so from BWI with no traffic. We always drive our own car and park down there. Then they shuttle you to your airline. I usually am always on an early flight leaving town and a late flight coming home. I’ve never asked anyone to drive us. I like being in control of our transportation.

We’ve gone from buying her fun lemonade type drinks to cocktails - how times change and the money spent

I either drive myself and park or get an Uber, whichever is cheaper. It's a 40 to 60 minute drive depending on traffic.

We're flying out very soon, first time all flying together as a family. (I hate flying, total phobia, and the freak out is really going full force.) We will drive/park at the airport in Nashville, in one of the lots, shuttle to terminal. We've done a mixture of parking there and having someone drop off/pick up the ones flying. Depends on flight times, etc. DS has taken an uber a few times when he flies in, and it's about $50-$60 depending.

I always drive.

I live 55 or so miles from the Atlanta airport. A 110 mile round trip would be a rather big inconvenience for friend or family member to do a drop off.

Public transit is possible but involves a 33 mile drive to the Doraville Marta station, the closest station with long term parking. Might as well drive the last 22 miles.

I have looked into car services but they so far always price out more than paying parking. I think the trip would need to be in the 20+ days range before parking exceeds the shuttle/car service cost.

As for where we park, almost always at a remote onsite parking deck that is connected to the airport by aerial tram/train. Unless it is a really short trip and we have no bags in which case I splurge for the hourly international deck that is just a few steps from the terminal and security.

From home to the airport it's usually one of our own cars. Occasionally a family member can drop off and pick up.

At our destinations, it more likely to be public transportation, a taxi, or an airport bus.

It depends. We live 10 minutes from DCA so either rideshare or metro, depending on how much luggage we have. Parking is expensive at the airport!

Flying out of Dulles, we have driven once and parked in a hotel lot booked through a service for a 1 week trip, and taken rideshare when gone for 2 weeks. I may try the metro when going on a solo trip in the fall.

In Florida either rental car or rideshare.

We take our car and park it in the budget lot. Our airport is sorta out in the boonies, no one wants to go there unless they're flying.

Our own car. We always fly from Detroit, and usually spend the night at the Fairfield Inn. There is a Park and Fly next door so we leave our car there and take the shuttle. The last time I flew was in November, for a solo Disney trip. DH drove me to Detroit and we stayed at the Fairfield then the next morning he dropped me off at the airport.

It depends.
If its work and I don't have to pay for it I drive and park at the Airport.

If I am traveling alone I get dropped off for the Airport Shuttle and take the bus.

If it's me and the family all traveling then I drive and park at the bus and we still take the shuttle bus - its the best option.
Parking at the Airport is just outrageous cost wise.

I'd take an uber to the Shuttlebus (or the Airport) but I really don't trust them at all - I don't need the driver knowing we are not home for a period of time when they dropped us at the Airport. I see that as a security risk.

In general I don't mind using Uber when on vacation - you just have to be cautious - but not from my home on the way to vacation.

We are lucky to live 10 minutes form our airport. At various times my husband and daughter have worked at the airport so it's not a big deal for either of them to do drop off depending on who is traveling. If we fly out of another airport (we are lucky to have 5 international airports within 90 miles of us) we will drive ourselves.
