So, Amanda, do you plan to crate train him? We actually didn't do very much puppy proofing. I even still leave my shoes out sometimes and Pokie has yet to chew on 1. She has her bed, her crate and her basket of chew toys all right next to each other. She goes & picks a chew toy out of the basket whenever she feels like it. I just have to teach her how to put them back!!! During the day there are chew toys everywhere except her basket! I just wait till the end of the day to round them all up again. We had been spoiling her and letting her sleep with DH & I but DH says her snoring kept him awake (atleast now he knows how I feel with HIS snoring!!) and she moved around too much. So, last night, back into her crate she went. I missed not having her in bed with us. Oh my goodness! You are gonna gave so much fun with Mason!! I can't wait to see pictures! Have you checked out woofboard.com yet?? Have you gotten any puppy :paw: supplies yet?? Please do tell! :bounce: :Pinkbounc

We do plan on crate training him, only because we live in an apartment. We are luck though we have a back yard that he can play in. All the neighbors are excited to meet him. I have been looking around at all the stuff we need to get and I amazed at all the crap we don't need yet I still want to buy. We have to get a couple of baby gates to keep him out of the cat box and the spare room, which will become the cats get away room. We are really excited to get him home. DH has a company picnic on the 31st and is really excited to show Mason off to all his work buddies. I just can't wait to play with him. Dispite all the efforts I want to make he will be one spoiled puppy!

I was going to start a virtual cruise thread for the 8/20 over on the cruise meets board, but I think having another 8/20 thread would be too much since our precious Ladypoo will start a live report on the 20th. So, instead, I just listed a bunch of the webcam sites from last may and grouped them accordingly. If I can't be on this vacaiton I might as well track it right?! So, I look forward to Ladypoo starting my virtual cruise. Ladypoo, when are we checking in at San Pedro???? Here's a link to the cruise forum thread I started. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=883862

 I saw your thread on the cruise board and it rocks! When does the ship leave CA? Well I went shopping for DP :paw: (disney puppy!) today and it was too much fun! I still can't believe all the stuff that they try to sell you. All with the label that it's natural. What b.s.! Anyway that dog isn't even here yet and he already has toys, puppy konk chew toy and a collar and leash. As well as a name tag and for us a bottle of bitter apple spray. I tell ya god help me when we have children.

I took a risk and asked one of the webmasters about my cruise forum thread. It has a bunch of links and I don't think they're allowed here on the DIS. I am hoping the thread will still be alive by morning. I even asked if I deleted the "http://wwww." could I keep the rest of the information. I hate for a good thread to die and I don't want to be banned from the DIS either. I don't see providing a link being an attachment- catch my drift? see posting rules below.

I just had to type in white. hee hee hee. got the idea from another forum thread.

We are talk to the breeder about what she has been feeding him so far. We went to Petsmart and did a little research on foods and we are a little overwelmed.

taeja you little ~poop~ I wanted the top! You people are just too fast for me this week. But I will get top tomorrow! Oh yes it will be mine! :teeth:

What does she feed him? I feed Pokie a food that is only found at PetsMart. It's Authority Harvest Baked. None of the byproducts=left over animal parts (and it has veggies). Pokie loves it! FYI: I also feed her 1 teaspoon of pure pumpkin and squeeze 1 capsule of flax seed oil into her breakfast. The pumpkin keeps them regular (and firm~sorry to be so descriptive) and the flax seed oil gives her an amazing shiny soft coat. I only feed Pokie twice a day now (she's 6 months) and her dinner is her dry food with a tablespoon or 2 of wet food. I try to keep her treats to natural stuff too. If the target in your area has a $ section, sometimes they have these natural dog cookies in there. They smell so yummy! Pokie just gobbles them up. Also, Petsmart has some little dog bones by old mother hubbard that are pretty good for them too (not too much junk in them). It is quite overwhelming, but feel free to ask any and all questions. I think I drove my sister crazy with questions when I first got Pokie since she now has 3 Bostons! I am 2 behind!! ;)

Lenore thanks so much. It can be overwelming. We are cat people who grew up with dogs, but haven't had a dog in a good 15 years. I always thought that judging by the sheer volume of things for dogs comapired to cats that it would be easy to pick stuff out. Boy was I wrong. We won't talk to the breeder until we pick Mason up, she's a fellow church member of my DMIL in Seattle. But I have a list of questions for her just about the food.

But I really need to know is when we bring him home, do we play with him, feed him, take him for a walk and then put him in his crate? I am trying to figure out how much time he needs to be in his crate while we are training him. I know that I will want to play with him alot but I don't want to make crake training harder by doing so.

To all the rest of my fellow cruisers, Happy Disney Day! ::MickeyMo
