Sept 19th,2004 revisited.....

Hi everyone I hope all is well! DId you guys read that there was a death at Castaway Cay this morning? Supposedly it was a male DISer and it was on Serenity Bay. Very sad for the feloows family, but what a peaceful place to pass away!

Goodness, I hadn't heard about that! How/where did you hear about it? Can you post a link? Have a good night everyone! Stay safe!! :grouphug:

Oh, how sad. It was weird looking over at the Cruisetoberfest thread, I wasn't sure if I should look over at that thread or not, but when I saw the notation about the death I kept reading. I didn't see any threads on it on the DCL Forum.

TIGFANJEFF PosteD to the other thread (Cruisetoberfest IV) but I'm going to post it here as well for emphasis. Guys, I'm going to say two things here, and we'll leave it at that.

1. We did loose a disboarder yesterday at Serenity Bay. While I (and several other disboarders) assisted in the resuscitation, we (all who were present) agreed that this is not our news to share. It is a tragedy, and while I and others present can speculate on the cause, none of us feel that this should be announced on this board by any of us. The person also has several other friends and family members who were travelling with them (some still on board) and if *THEY* wish to share what happened, it is their right to do so. Until then, I think we should leave this as "We lost a disboarder, it was a tragedy, it has touched the disboard community on this ship *VERY* deeply, and keep the family and friends in your prayers".

2. As I stated above, there are many other disboarders besides myself who were VERY attached to this tragedy in various ways. Do not PM people on this board, or e-mail people on this board looking for information. You will not get it. This information will either come from the family to this community (and the family is part of the community) or it will not come out at all.

-Jeff

WINOTRACYWROTE -Jeff, thank you for your post. I was just looking for this thread so that I could post this...

While we all want more information and are saddened by the loss, keep in mind that the other DISers still on this cruise are on a vacation they have been planning and dreaming of for more than a year. Let's let them report on the excitement they are having, and save our condolences for a more appropriate thread at a more appropriate time.

I hope you are all reading this post, my computer and the DIS board is acting up.

Good morning everyone! Sucky day for me! I am home cleaning. DH had to work today. and the kdis are driving me nuts! My house is a wreck and I dont even know where to start!! EEEKKEE I havent seen mt laundry room floor in years, and so I am tackling that today! LOL I am thinking of joining flylady again. Maybe that can help me keep this house in order!

What's flylady? My house always needed to be in order about 10 years ago.

Good morning. T: I was just over on the other thread reading the same info. Guess Jeff has a very good point as we do all have a very inquisitive nature. We'll just have to wait for the family to make an announcement, should they decide to do so. For now, we can only keep them in our thoughts.

On a lighter note, what's everyone got on their plate this week? Not much here. Trying to get a thorough cleaning of the house done (guess it would help to get off the computer huh?????????) and I really, really, really need to list my ebay stuff. Getting started is the hard part because once I get going I don't want to stop until it's all done!

Gotta go! Take care & talk soon!

And forgot to say:

TOPS for ME!!!!!! :p :wave2:
:rotfl: Glad you got tops!

I too have to get off the computer if I'm going to get any thing done. I'm thinking about cleaning out the garage. We can barely park our vehicles in there. The kids' bikes are parked in between our van and car. Yuck! I briefly looked over at the Community site threads and saw a 'New Mom's' thread. I feel like starting an "old Mom's thread, for those new mom's who have been broken in a couple or more years". :p Well, I got to get going and do some thing. Possibly, more typing. :teeth:

All mighty Dzneprincess, Tell me more about the Double scoops. Is it a 7night ? No stops in Nassau right? Oh, I'm getting itchy for a cruise, but I think I want a 7 dayer this time around. Are the "Special Western"s the Double Scoops at CC?

I found a thread that a DISer started talking about the DCL staff
not any of the really good food (just sandwiches, pasta and another starch). I find that hard to be true. but then she mentioned how she started to give extra cake to her night staff and then sneaked off food to staffers. Well, the stafferers seemed very happy about getting the really good food. Weird. Here's the link. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=816054

I'm having a tough time typing w/ my littlelist on my lap.

I noticed that Varandah Man Andy posted a link to shirts and stuff for your double scoops group. What have you all come up w/ for graphics etc>?

Wow I cant believe you guys are still going so strong. That's AWESOME! Well I am currently booked for a 7 night in Sept. but if Florida rates dont come out I guess I'll be looking for an alternative, maybe a 4 night. I dont know what is going on last Sept. we got great deals but this Sept. seems full. Funny after last years weather and threats of more this year I thought I might be alone.

You got it. The Costa Maya cruises are the ones that are making 2 stops at CC. I think you can probably still get a good deal on the 09/16/06 one that Amanda and I have booked....

I didnt see anything posted by him...where? He is not on our sailing anymore....we have speculated about the shirts but nothing set yet. Some were saying lime green with a oic of ice cream cone on back....we are sailing with a bunch of the 10 day Christmas cruisers and they have done this before ( gone all out that is) so I leave it in their capable hands :-)

me, asking inquisitively, what kinda stuff ya got over there...huh huh huh???:teeth:

We are off work now...!!!!!!!!!!! YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... Misti worked the night we got back from our cruise. I am wayyyyyyy too old to be doing stuff like that.

Kara (the cruise director) wasnt as visible or outgoing as Jacqui was. Jacqui really made the trip for Dominique last time. Our server Josko was excellent. Dominique did get back on the Red Carpet and on the Golden Mickeys preview thing, like she did last year.

I was sick the last night. Castaway was awesome. It felt like the easiest docking that we have made. The sun was HOT HOT HOT. We all got burnt. Feeling the brunt of it this week. Missed the party in the atrium that night.

We packed way too many clothes. But it was hard to decide how much we needed, because we had 2 days scheduled at WDW before the cruise. Dom wore her Princess dress the morning we docked in Nassau, that was about the only time on board that she wore it.

The graduation mortar hats were nicer this time. More like regular grad hats. She was on the front row on the stage beside Mickey Mouse himself. She didnt get to go to the clubs but twice, because of her cough. (Chronic sinusitis) and we didnt take any meds but motrin and an allergy med with us.

We missed the CC meet and greet with the captain in order to go to the show in the Theater for the kids.

The fireworks are shot off over PALO. We were on deck 10 above the mickey pool and had excellent viewing of them. They lasted probable about 10 minutes it seemed like. The pirate party was good. Lots of desserts on the buffet before it.

We decided that we probably wont do another 3 day cruise. It is just too short and rushed. Missed a lot of the picture ops with the characters. Will make sure we have all sorts of meds for dominique with us.

Am about to bust, double digits until the August repo cruise... YEA!!!!!!!!!!

http://www.cafepress.com/castaways2006 It says, "Cruise items for the cruisin' Castaways August 2006". So I guess its not for the double scoops group. :confused3

:rotfl: Was my first reaction looking over the website, but now I'm listening. :listen: I'll have to comb over the website tomorrow, as I am tired. I woke up with a sore neck (thanks Amanda01-JK!) this a.m. and got nothing done, but a lot of typing on the DIS boards of course. I could only really sit w/o pain. I made it to the chiro. today and boy did my mid back snap. Ugh, it hurt, but now it feels a lot better. I love laying on the rolling bed. Any way, I look forward to trying flylady. :wave2:
