Are you KIDDING me? Sorry for you, and thanks for the heads up. I had upgraded to a Cat 9 from 10 in May 2009. Lovely.
Kimberly - Unless you made a change to your reservation after the 1st week of Dec 2009, then you should receive the $100 OBC (assuming you got the letter originally.) That was the effective date of the promo (may have been last week of Nov, or 1st week of Dec.) All I know, was when I rebooked my FIL's reservation onboard our 12/12/09 cruise, he lost the $100/pp OBC in the process since it counted as a change after that effective date.
Have heard from DCL today on the tastings. They are coordinating the times and dates and are working out a Mojito seminar. In addition, while they can't do the drink if the day, they suggested the mixology class. I stressed that we were really interested in the Mojitos, and that we would also be interested in the mixology class. (Hope that is OK!) I will post the old DOD list - please PM me if you are NOT interested in the Mixology seminar. If I don't hear from you I will sign you up. Cost is $15.
Sue - I know I'm not interested in the mixology class, but I need to check with my DH and FIL/MIL to see what they want to do. I'll PM you as soon as I hear back from them (I'm out of town this week.)
Once disappointment from the med cruise was being told we were not entitled to the $100 per person shipboard credit we had been given for booking early was not valid as we had amended our booking. This amendment was to accept the upgrade to cat 3 that we were offered that was not available when we made the original booking (we had requested cat 3 at this time). So we booked nearly two years in advance, then paid more for a cat 3 but lost the thank you for having our money all that time! I have just sent a mail to DCL asking for their comments. Exactly the same applies to this cruise. Don't suppose i will get anywhere, but worth a try....

As noted above, the $100/pp OBCs were given to folks booked by the 1st week of December, and were in essence "golden handcuffs" to keep people from rebooking their reservations in advance of the various med promos and price reductions that were released shortly afterwards. My FIL lost his $100 OBC when I rebooked his reservation on our 12/12/09 cruise, and we lost our $100/pp ($400 total) when I had to rebook to add travel insurance after I'd paid in full. (Turns out we would have lost them anyway when we switched to the military rate, and we ended up saving more in the process, but free money is still fun!) So we went from having $700 OBC at one point to having just the $200 (or perhaps $225 but I'm not betting on it) that we have from DU.
I am way behind in reading (like page 16) as life has been moving too fast for me this weekend/week
BUT I wanted to let everyone know that the wristbands are in! I will begin packaging them and mailing them to those who requested and sorting the rest to distribute on board!

I have no memory these days, but do we still owe you for shipping or have we already paid? I think I paid for something, but haven't had a chance to check.
I just spoke with a Member Services Supervisor who explained to me that offers are not combinable. So my on-board booking credit for the PC cruise is all I will get even if I use my Disney Rewards card to make final payment for that cruise. I thought I had gotten both on another cruises but she says no. Oh well. She apologized IF I had been given incorrect information when I booked this cruises.
It use to be what put Disney above all others was their customer service. Other cruise lines (Princess) sure seem to be trying everything to make you feel like family (sound like what Disney use to do?). With two more larger ships to fill I wonder if Disney will rethink their new cost cutting measures. Is this the new Karl L Holz management style? After as much as we are paying for these trips, and god knows the PC cruise is 3x as much, it isn't the $100 I am worried about it is the way they make you feel. val
You can only have one "booking code" discount from DCL per reservation. Booking codes include the ones you can enter on the DCL website to get special pricing, such as Kids Sail Free (KSF or KFO), Florida Resident (FLR), Military (MTO), the UK resident discount, the Canadian resident discount, Kids Free Mexican Riviera, Disney Visa $50 OBC (DCC), and the new $100 OBC on the 12/18/10 Southern Caribbean code that was announced today on facebook (FBC). Onboard bookings are another booking code that I don't think is published anywhere. The only DCL discount that can be combined with a booking code discount is the $25 OBC for booking online (though this obviously doesn't apply to onboard bookings since you go through an agent for those.)
I know there are a number of you who received the military rate on this cruise, as I did. And I do really appreciate getting that rate. However, in the past when I booked a cruise and received a military rate I paid with my Disney Visa Card and received an on-board credit for using that card. When I booked this card I was told I would receive the credit too but not until I paid in full. Now they are saying I don't get the military rate and the Disney Visa Card OBC and what I was originally told was incorrect. Disney Rewards says it is something I have to argue with DCL about. Is anyone of you who received the military cruise rate and used a Disney Rewards card receiving the OBC? I was also told by DCL at the time of booking there was a $25 OBC 'bonus'. Now they are saying no $25 and military rate. And they aren't saying it very nicely.

As mentioned above, you can only receive one booking code offer per reservation, and the military rates and Disney Visa offers are both booking codes. You can generally combine the $25 OBC for booking online with a booking code offer (except the onboard booking one), but that is negated if you booked any part of your reservation via an actual DCL agent, either via phone or onboard the ship. When our TA moved us to the military rates from our onboard booking discount, our reservation number didn't change (which was good because we would have lost all of our Palo, spa and excursion reservations if they did), so I don't think we'd qualify for the $25 online discount. Besides, she probably had to talk to someone at DCL in order to change the reservation without losing all of our bookings, so we probably weren't eligible anyway.
In 4 cruises (probably 5 including this cruise) we have never received the Disney Visa OBC though we used our Visa for all of our cruise payments. Our first cruise we ended up booking through a AAA group, our next 2 cruises were onboard bookings, our 4th cruise was a Kids Sail Free offer, and this one is now a Military (was rebooking) offer. However, we've saved more than $50 through the various offers that we used, so I'm okay with not getting the Visa offer.
