Just thought i would pass on a couple of bits that i know people were asking about earlier in the thread as we have just got of the 7th Aug med cruise - would have gone back to find the questions and quote but this thread is soooo long!!

Laundry - the room was always busy - deck 7. Went down about 6.30 one day and all the machines were taken and people queuing - managed to get a load into wash. People were saying that the room on deck 6 had been closed as the people in the room opposite had complained about the noise. When i went back to discover that the machines (which are now electronically controlled) had gone off line. Those running were ok, but they could not be started once complete. They tried a restart a couple of times but after 45 minutes they were still not back up. I had a load a wet washing and couldn't get it dry. Someone phoned guest services and they agreed to wash everyones laundry for free. At that point i thought i would just take it back to the room and get it dry one the balcony. Once i got back to the room i changed my mind and phoned guest services, i was told to put it in a laundry bag and someone would come and collect it. I did put a note to say it only needed drying, but i think they washed it too - i guess it could have sat for a couple of hours before they got to it. I put it down as express and had it back later the same day. Point being, it didn't matter what time you went to the laundry it was busy! Personally, i didn't think the wash and dry service is very expensive and i think next time i will allocate $50 to do a few bits.

Bags in the gift shop - cant remember the make, but someone posted a picture earlier in this thread. There were four sizes shown in the picture in a bright mickey design. In the shop they only had the smallest two in this design. there is also a brown design which i think they had all four sizes in. Personally i didnt think these were as nice.

Someone also asked about the gym - sorry didn't get there!! Maybe next time.

If anyone has any more questions feel free - may be as well to PM me as well as this thread moves so fast i may miss them!

Are these the Dooney Bags you were talking about? My cousin took this on the last Baltic Cruise....This is what they had at that time.

Does anybody have the dvd from Disneycruiseline 2010? And can copy it for my? I like to have a dvd but can't get one because i'm living in europa.

Thanks for the info, Lorraine. I think I shall definitely think about using the DCL service if the laundry is that busy... :thumbsup2

I have been thinking about whether to do laundry or send it out and after doing a lot of reading about the trials and tribulations of the laundry room, I am going to also put aside money for laundry. I originally had decided to have my one gown dry cleaned so it would be freshly pressed and one other dress that I needed cleaned as well. To come back to the room and having the item hanging in my closet will be my treat to myself.

I like that - it definitely would be a treat!!! :goodvibes

I have some! They are fab! A little bouncy but not slippy at all! I love them!
I have the sling back ballerina types and love them to bits! Not slippy at all..more mountain goat on rocky beaches. But not sure re the normal crocs, prob a bit too much for my small average feet
More excellent news, Sarah!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
Fantastic news! Congrats to all those in receipt of results past week! Hope all is ok!
Tomorrow we are going to a big shopping mall called the Trafford Centre on the search for shoes !!!
I love the Trafford Centre! Its like our very local Merry Hill Centre! I am actually Manchester born...so think it great when I get to visit birth town
Party Poppers - so no one is getting any lol! I spoke to customer services and they said they wont allow them on the plain as they are classed as explosives! Don't ask! Luckily this was only part of the gift but had to go through all the bags to sort it out!
OOPS! For the Millenium Eve trip we did we sat for 4 hrs on the tarmac..and waited for all the party poppers to be off loaded.virtually every suitcase had to be off loaded and re identified on the tarmac. Then they were confiscated. The ground staff must have had enough party poppers to last for a decade..! We was hot, miserable and fed up. and the toilets were blocked..What a night mare lol
Update on the peaches....:) I made 10 pints of jam and a cobbler last night using about half of the peaches we bought Sunday. Today I plan 2 peach pies and then I will can what is left. :thumbsup2
YUm...love the cooking! I'm into the cooking
It's a lovely feeling when they get to do something that makes them happy, isn't it...? So pleased for him and you...
Oh yes..I know this one
yeah i was really not very impressed it was the pure well its not our fault neither of them were willing to take any responsibility it makes a joke of ordering things .. as you cannot gaurantee you will get the goods you ordered as their stock system is not live. Thing is its less likely for me to shop there next time.

well need to get a pair of nice black trousers so off to shops again try to avoid M&

jason
I also have got fed up of on line ordering.virtually nil in stock! and the shops are full of Autumn stuff :-(
GO GO GO it's one of the best places i have ever been, Disney is amazing, the city is wonderful, the people are fantastic, i just love it.

Of all the places i've been it's Tokyo I dream of returning to.

SW
Tokyo is the only one we have not yet done. We have seen all the others..Florida..Cali...Paris...Hong Kong...DCL.we would love to see Tokyo

Methinks I have better things to do than queue for laundry!! Wash in sink and hang in bathroom...or send to the wash and dry service!
If we run out of panties we have choices..new ones..turn inside out.or go commando......LOL. all have already been aforementioned on the many..er over 9 theads :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Well we have just returned from school and Danny managed to pass all of his GCSEs .... 2 x A grades, 3 x B grades, 3 x C grades and 1 x D grade ( Maths ... not his strong point ). Still waiting on Art and Design result.
So we are all really proud of him as he will now be accepted at college to study Media Production. :yay::yay::yay::yay:

Congratulations to Danny. He did really well.

I am exactly the same ..... today I bought a new lightweight trolley bag, a pair of water shoes for Tony and a pair of Magic Knickers for myself ( as in Spanx-related product ). It is so easy just to keep splurging. Tomorrow we are going to a big shopping mall called the Trafford Centre on the search for shoes !!!

Oh, what a shame that I have to work tomorrow. I have not been at the Trafford Centre in ages even though I live in Manchester. It would have been great to meet you.

It's the same with Christmas crackers. They are not allowed either. By the way magnets are classified as dangerous goods as well and are not supposed to be taken on board an aircraft. One of my colleagues nearly had kittens when I mentioned that I had taken my door magnets on a plane.

Well, it's been over a month and one installment of the cruise meet that I've missed since we've moved to San Miguel. A bit stressful at times but now we have most of our household goods and we can start putting the house together. We just got back from a weekend at the opera in Santa Fe, NM and it's back to reality now.

Looking forward to getting back into the swing of things here on the boards and can't wait until we head out in just a few more weeks!

Michael

I am glad that things start to settle down and that you have most of your things now.

Corinna

I am way behind in reading (like page 16) as life has been moving too fast for me this weekend/week

BUT I wanted to let everyone know that the wristbands are in! I will begin packaging them and mailing them to those who requested and sorting the rest to distribute on board!

I can't believe how quickly this cruise is now creeping up on us. When I booked this in October 2008, I though this would never arrive. I also thought that I was fairly organized this time round, but there is still so much to do. Hopefully I will have the components that I had custom-made for one of the Fish Extender gifts by next week. Then I can make the last gift. This is not too heavy, so if they don't get here in time, I will just pack this in my carry on. There is one Fish Extender gift that I have to make some more of and the materials for that have no arrived. So hopefully I will get those done tomorrow morning. On the weekend I will then package the gifts and label them so that I can ship them next week. I also need to ring DVC Member Services to arrange Magical Express back to the airport and to add the dining plan to our booking.

I had confirmation that both my luggage scales and my Passporter have shipped. They are both coming from the UK so with a bit of luck, they will be here tomorrow.

We finally got the voucher through for the spa day that we won. I started to get quite worried that we would not be able to fit this in before the cruise. We were lucky to manage to get this booked for Sunday. We are both going to get a massage andscalp massage as well as the use of all their facilities. As the spa is at the other end of town, I decided to book an additional treatment for myself that I will pay for. I might as well make this worth my while. I will have the Ginger and Lime Salt Glow. I love this treatment and I will get this at a fraction of a cost than what the same treatment would cost on the Magic.

By the weekend, I will definitely need a spa treatment or two. I am having a very stressful week at work. I am doing performance reviews with my team for the next two days and then I will have my own performance review with my manager on Friday. I will be glad when the weekend arrives.

Wow...we ordered new luggage today......This past weekend DW told me since we are only going to check 2 pieces of luggage to Spain we should consider buying new lightweight luggage. OK....I agree....so last night we go to Kohls and they have nice 29" lightweight Samsonite on salefor $239.00...normally $399....so we decide to think about it....so today I go on the Kohls website and the same luggage is on sale for $180.00....and in 3 colors--not the 1 color they had in the store. So....I get free shipping cause it is over $75.00....and we get an additional 15% off since DW has a coupon....so the $399.00 luggage costs me $153 each....yes....I bought 2.....one in blue for me and one in dark pink for DW...so with tax it came to $332.00 for both....but wait.....there is more....we got Kohls cash....for every $50.00 you spend you get a coupon for $10.00 for a future purchase....so we got $60.00 in Kohls cash.....so basically I got $800.00 of luggage for $270.00....may bring some of the money I saved and might just spend it on the ship....so if you need luggage...check out Kohls.com......I think we got an awesome deal!

Once disappointment from the med cruise was being told we were not entitled to the $100 per person shipboard credit we had been given for booking early was not valid as we had amended our booking. This amendment was to accept the upgrade to cat 3 that we were offered that was not available when we made the original booking (we had requested cat 3 at this time). So we booked nearly two years in advance, then paid more for a cat 3 but lost the thank you for having our money all that time! I have just sent a mail to DCL asking for their comments. Exactly the same applies to this cruise. Don't suppose i will get anywhere, but worth a try....

I had this twice before, once on the Wonder and once on the Norwegian Jade. I even have some of the scrub and of the Milk Bath at home as I love the smell so much.
