I know where Beachwood is! We used to stay there YEARS ago when we went to the Twins Festival in Twinsburg! It was a nice area! :)

I'm going to my WW meeting tomorrow night...not sure if I'll lose this week or not. My thyroid problem is finally under control so we'll see what happens!
Beachwood is a nice area (if I can't be home in Decatur, GA, that is). But what does it say about me that I have bartenders at most of the local restaurants that know me by name (& drink)?? :rotfl:

Wow, I'm 5'2" and always went with "I gnaw gnees." Or is it "I knaw knees"? (Yes, and as DGD2 says, "silly grandma.")
5'2" ?? Wow, that's kind of tall for women in my family! :rotfl2:

We actually had a speedo parade while we were having our ladies tea in Palo. Poor Palo servers didn't know what to think with all of us hysterically laughing and with a bunch of guys parading around deck 10. :rotfl::rotfl:
OMG!! Almost forgot about that - hysterical!! (and slightly disturbing, too...)

Right, we need a mankini parade then, Speedo will pass if they don't have mankini's. :thumbsup2
No!! Once was enough!! :rotfl2:

I still have several pages to go from last night, I could use that beer. A good german beer and a square egg and then nach eine beir bitte.
I really like Budweiser .... is that classed as cheap beer over there? Over here it is a decent beer .... there is a lot worse.
LOVE the German beer, but IMHO Budweiser is a cheap beer. I'm a self-described beer snob and pretty much stick to the micro-brews. :snooty:

Speaking of men's underwear, I have bought my DH a gift for the cruise. His favourite characters are Chip and Dale so when I saw these I had to get him a pair:

Am I the only one who's just a little disturbed at the placement of the acorns in this picture? :confused3:rotfl2::lmao:

Not sure if Australian's call them the same as they are called here - "gruds" or "grundies" - both terms make me cringe.

What about men's swimwear (made me think of it after seeing this and the comments about mankini's and speedo's) - aka "slug huggers" or "budgie smugglers" (a budgie is a small parrot - not sure how widely known that is ;) )
Cool, I'm going to learn a few new languages on this trip!! :lmao:

Eric, They released the DCL dolphin swim times, I know you ended up booking something else, but just in case your still interested :confused3

And you missed all the Spanx talk :rotfl2:

Thanks for the heads up----Jason is away in NC this week for work and won't be back until Friday night. When he gets home I'll ask him what he wants to do. Maybe we'll go online and see if there are times we like and then decide if we'd rather scuba or dolphin.

Also----I'm so...."SAD" that I missed spanx talk! :lmao: Although I have seen remnants of it in the form of speedo talk and images of underpants :lmao:

Also----Did I see Dis-Bits posting again?! Dis-Bits is one of the families I've been waiting to hear from for such a long time to make sure their information is correct on the lanyard spreadsheet. Dis-Bits----if you're reading this, please click on this LINK and scroll down to your DIS name and make sure your names are all spelled correctly....then PM me to confirm your info is correct and if you have a room #, let me know that, too.

Other related Lanyard News/Announcements------I know from my PM inbox that several people have gotten their room assignments now....please remember to check and see if you have your room # and once you do, send me a PM to let me know. I really want to input all the room #'s correctly into the spreadsheet before Jason and I leave for Orlando on SEPTEMBER 1St (It's important that we have your room #'s because we will try to set up a time...or maybe a couple times....either in port or aboard before the sailaway party to pass out lanyards. Folks who aren't able to make it to that location to pick up their lanyards, however, Jason and I will drop the lanyards off at your rooms later that night and/or hang them on your fish so that you have them (and we don't hang onto them :lmao:)....so knowing your CORRECT room # is important.

Also-----just an update....there are now about 225 lanyards spoken for (& I am waiting on a couple PMs or emails right now from some folks who asked if there were lanyards available)...which means there is still room for about 75 other folks to get in on the lanyard fun late! So if you're new to the boards or you have been procrastinating, shoot me a PM asap to get your lanyards ordered!!

Yes! Beachwood is just north of Twinsburg! Regardless of what the scale says tonight, just having your thyroid under control is a blessing. You won't be fighting against a brick wall like you had been now.

And if it was THREE glasses?? :lmao::lmao:

Can't wait for my first DIS meet of the year (even if it is a small one)!!

:dance3::dance3:

Ummm...well....three glasses is better than a box of Little Debbie Oatmeal Pies!

I'm *SO* excited about meeting up with you next week, too!! :woohoo:

....I just wish I could persuade the flab overflow to stay at bust level where it would actually be of some use. :rotfl: .....

Amen to the best level bump! :rotfl: I certainly could us it!

....Imagine all those stretched worn pairs being sent back after the event the customers wanted to have a smooth outline for!!! Perhaps QVC could send me some already stretched ones for comfort!!!;)....

My mother had Playtex girdles. They were rubber, and I remember her sticking cycle repair kit rubber stickers over holes to mend them!!! ...

The thought of many "tried" Spanx being returned is a little disturbing, but having a stretched pair would be nice! :rotfl:

The vision of rubber stickers is simply :lmao:!!

!Bu5ICvQCWk~$(KGrHqEOKm4EvyFnhzgGBMCRYzlsBQ~~_35.JPG

If no one else is going to say it, I will! Are Chip & Dale stumbling with their nuts? ...and green? Glad they're not blue. That would be sad.

(Okay...Hope that didn't offend anyone.)

....My Nana wore girdles until the day she died. She fell and broke her hip and begged the nurse not to cut it off. Sweet nurse waited until pain meds were in, and then gently took it off of her. She was 95 at that point. When she passed the funeral home was shocked that we provided one, but once we explained the situation they honored her wishes...

Awe....

I am getting ready to take dad back to the airport. YEAH - now I can read and play some more.

My husband is not coming on this cruise so no mankini!! Thank God! I don't think he would even put it on to parade around the deck outside Palo. It is quite scary.

Sarah - love the chip n dale underwear! It is about time that someone chimes in with something for the men - ha ha! Of course, as someone said, as soon as I look at Tony, I will have a different vision!!:rotfl::rotfl:

....the lanyards ARRIVED at my house on Tuesday! :cool1::cool1:

I'm pretty happy with them----the colors that the lanyard team all voted on anonymously turned out really great (and, actually, I should say I haven't even told the LANYARD TEAM members what the lanyards look like yet....gotta keep some surprises!! :thumbsup2). Also I decided on this trip, after some suggestions from team members and other cruisers to go with a slightly wider lanyard than I've usually ordered for cruises in the past. They're still pretty soft and comfortable but they're now wide enough for pin people to put their pins on! :thumbsup2

ATTENTION ALL DANIEL TAXI MADERIA TOUR CRUISERS:

I received an email from Eusébia this morning with answers to some of my questions. Please read below and let me know if you have children and you need car seats.

Also, I will be posting via PM, email and on this thread a list of interested cruisers with the number of people that they have said in their party.

Hello Noel

Now, answering your questions:

Noel, as it seems you’ll have children in your group, then, please, let me know how many child’s or/and booster seats will be necessary.

You won’t have to walk much, after you leave Disney Magic, to get to the vans. Before, drivers used to stand right at the end of the ship’s gangway, but our pier now has a new platform and cruisers have to get into this platform to see their drivers. Due to security reasons, entrance to the pier is blocked to the people in general, so I didn’t visit this new building yet.

I’m sorry, but not even the people that aren’t taking the Toboggan ride will be able to stay for long in Monte, because they’ll be taken down to Livramento (where the Toboggan ride ends) in their vans, to meet the others.

The procedure is as follows: the drivers will all be at the pier, with the vans, to meet you all. First stop is at the Cable car station to leave the people taking the ride up to Monte. Anybody not wanting to ride the Cable car, will go to Monte in the van. The drivers (who in fact are driver/guides, as I mentioned previously), will be at the end of the cable Car ride in Monte to meet everybody and walk with them to the beginning of the Toboggan ride (something like an easy 5 minute walk). At this point they’ll get their vans and drive down to Livramento – together with anybody not taking the Toboggan ride – to collect their groups and start with the West tour.

I spoke to Daniel about honey cake tasting for the those not visiting Blandy’s and he said he’ll ask the owner of a souvenir shop in Porto Moniz – who, in turn, is also the owner of the restaurant we’re taking you to – to provide a honey cake tasting especially for you. I think he’ll accept it promptly as he know Daniel very well. An idea would be for the cake tasting to be in the restaurant, but, of course, they’ll decide for themselves.

For Poncha any souvenir shop will do.

You’ll view both the north and the south coast in Encumeada. Well… let’s hope the weather conditions are good!

Yes, black scabbard is “espada” the fish I told you about. It’s nice, not too heavy and is, usually, enjoyed by all.

Any further questions, I’m here for you! So feel free to ask along.

And thank you so much for the lovely words that have been posted, on the DISboards, about me.

Till next time.

With best wishes,

Eusébia.

:lmao: I wasn't the only one afraid to say something! You just beat me to the "Reply" button!

Oh that must have been exciting!!! Everything you get your arms around is awesome, so I know these will be amazing! I just can't wait to see them!!

I am also height challenged and now the shortest family member. But my DGD (age 12) now calls me "fun size".:rotfl2::rotfl2:

YEAH! I love pins!! I even have a pin of Capt. Tom that I will wear as a "memorial" because he has been on all our cruises except this one!

I love pins too. Where did you get the pin of Capitan Tom? I am so jealous!! We have a ships clock that he signed to John and I that sits on my desk.

We bought it years ago - I want to say probably Cruise 4 in '05 on the cruise. I haven't seen them since, but I will be more than happy to show you. If you are going on the Dream, they might sell them then. I knew I had to have it when I saw it. It was because of Capt. Tom that we went on the TA in '07. We were on the Mother's Day cruise in '06 and my husband was talking to Capt. Tom about having cruises with more sea days, he said that we should definitely go on the '07 and my husband booked that day! I wish he listened to me like he does Capt. Tom!!!

That is exactly what we call Goofy Granny - FUN SIZE! You can actually get a shirt that says that - I was thinking about it for her. I didn't even notice the quote was from Goofy Granny! Ha - you can tell it is early and getting ready to go to the airport. ahhhh!! At least we think alike!

We took our first cruise in 2005 and really didn't know much about the DIS. I would love to see the pin.

I'm sorry...I'm trying to get enough post in so that I can PM you. The information is all correct and I don't think that I have a room number yet. I will let you know the min I find out.
