YEAH! I love pins!! I even have a pin of Capt. Tom that I will wear as a "memorial" because he has been on all our cruises except this one!

We love pins as well! It will be great to be able to put them on the lanyards! Thanks, Erik!

I love pins too. Where did you get the pin of Capitan Tom? I am so jealous!! We have a ships clock that he signed to John and I that sits on my desk.

Our ships clock is in the bedroom of our RV because it reminds us of our stateroom on the ship. :cloud9: Same color wood and that cozy feeling. :goodvibes

Speaking of RV, we leave today for a week in Oregon. It has been WAY too long since we have taken it out on the road. So, I will likely be hundreds of pages behind next weekend, maybe even threads behind the way we are going. I don't think I will get online while we are gone. :scared1::surfweb:Withdrawal!!!!

PJ, Marilyn, Noel!!! Please PM anything important that I might need to see to me. TIA!!! Things like payments, etc.

updated room tour.

That's so cute. My DGD2 is already over 3' tall; she'll probably be taller than me by the age of 10.

 it - may I pass it on? :rotfl2:

Certainly :goodvibes .

Thats so sweet.[/QUOTE]

My nieces and nephews are quickly passing me by but I've trained them to not be so excited and bragging about it. They all know that they're only in my "favor" as long as they're shorter than me (which lasts through elementary school) so the older ones do a lot of squatting and hunching over when they're around. Makes me happy in pictures. :thumbsup2

Oh that must have been exciting!!! Everything you get your arms around is awesome, so I know these will be amazing! I just can't wait to see them!!

Yes it was exciting....now once Jason gets home we jsut have to fiddle around with trying to pack all the lanyards and the name badges into his carry-on backpack (and the thing is the lanyards take up space but are light, the name badges take up less space but weigh a lot...GGRRRRRR :headache:). If we can't get them all in then I'm going to have to figure out a way to ship them to some of my lanyard team members in smaller clusters and have them carry them over in their carry-ons. So everyone cross your fingers that we can manage because I REALLY don't want to deal with the headache of splitting up the lanyards, etc.

Also....I know this has been discussed before....but does anyone have ANY idea what the luggage limits for the flight from Orlando to Barcelona (booked through DCL) are likely to be? How many bags can we check for free, if any? Can we check extras at a cost? What is the cost for checking the bags? What is the weight in pounds that each bag can hold? How many carry-ons? What, if any, is the weight limit on carry-ons? (On our domestic flights from Rochester to Orlando and back we're not worried at all...we'll just pay the extra bag fees....but we're nervous about the flight across to Europe.)

I'm sorry...I'm trying to get enough post in so that I can PM you. The information is all correct and I don't think that I have a room number yet. I will let you know the min I find out.

OK great. Thanks for responding on here!! I'll put on the list that you're confirmed now and just wait to hear about room #'s.

We love pins as well! It will be great to be able to put them on the lanyards! Thanks, Erik!

I'm glad to see several of you are already happy with the decision to go with a wider and more pin-friendly lanyard. In the past I've always gotten the really thin one that is basically the size of a shoe-lace and just big enough for the lettering but a number of folks said they liked it better if they could put pins and decoration on their lanyard so I went with the 1/2 inch version this time....and, like I said, I'm pretty happy with how they turned out. (And I actually think it makes the lettering a little bigger/more visible, too)

We were offered an upgrade from a 4 to a 3. Cost was $3300 which would have made our total without insurance $8976.60. We declined. Hope this helps.

Yes, it helps quite a bit. About in line with my SWAG ("Silly Wild-A** Guess").

Thanks - and see you aboard!

Richard

I think all the limits on luggage (# of bags, weight, etc) is specific to the airline so go to your airline's website and you should be able to find all the details.

oh, just realized you said you booked through DCL so you may not know your airline so call Disney I guess. Sorry!

Well, I've been lurking here for a few days trying to get caught up on what is going on and I've decided that's impossible, so I'm just going to jump in and try to figure out what you have been up to in the last million posts!

This will be our sixth cruise, so our first gold cruise:cool1:.
I'm (Andrea) traveling with DH (Michael), DS12 (Zachary) and DS10 (Adam). We are in room 5012. We are taking DCL air, so don't know our flight plans yet. Unfortunately, DH can't take any more days off work than he already is, so we plan on being a bit tired on 9/18 after what I'm sure will be a long day/night of travel. I think the excitement will help us out, though.

Right now, our cruise plans are

Gibraltar--City Under Seige 9AM
Madeira--Catamaran Whale and Dolphin Watching 9:45AM
St. Maarten--nothing. beach??
Tortola--Tour to Virgin Gorda 8:30 AM
Castaway--beach time

Not sure about Madeira. DH and I couldn't find any DCL tours we were really happy with and are still not sure about what we did pick. I've been trying to figure out whether to join your tour but not sure how kid friendly it is and it sounds like a really long day. We'd like something a little shorter.

Welcome, Andrea!! I'm glad you just hopped on in with us!! I hope you have or will reach out to Erik so you can get lanyards for the family. Besides it being a great souvenir, it's a great ice breaker as you roam the ship as well.

I'm also taking the Tour of Virgin Gorda, so it's good to know there will be another familiar family there!

Yeah....we don't have our flight information and probably won't get it until the 45 day mark about----which means we likely won't hear anything until after July 15th....and I"m just such a control freak that might be more than I can handle!! :lmao: I've been trying to find out if anyone else on an earlier Med cruise has booked an MCO to BCN ticket and try to find out what they got in terms of airlines and everything.

Greetings! I just sent you an email from the lanyards email to get your family's names...but I see them here so you don't need to reply if you haven't already!

Wow, I'm 5'2" and always went with "I gnaw gnees." Or is it "I knaw knees"? (Yes, and as DGD2 says, "silly grandma.")

Hi and welcome. Just me and my husband John on the cruise(together with a few thousand others of course!!!:lmao:)

Krisann, Add me to the laundry meet! :thumbsup2 Hayley
I'll be one of the few men with you doing laundry...

BEFORE I FORGET........

Just wanted to post this little tidbit.....European hotels and apts do not normally have little wash clothes. If you are absolutely attached to using one, I would recommend you take one with you. You'll be safe onboard the ship but not in the hotels. They are sometimes hard to find unless you go to El Cortes Ingles.

OK - just wanted to post that for those that have never been....

Thanks - now you can return to your regular scheduled :happytv:
Thanks for the info. I guess I'll need to get a pack of washcloths while I'm picking up my Vodka and whiskey at El Cortes Ingles for the cruise.

How about beer, burgers, and NASCAR?

Where's Tim Allen?
You beat me to it :lmao:

Hi everyone! Sure trying to keep up with you all while being gone is hard. We have only a few more days gone then head home on Sunday. Our week in Chicago was great. By the way we did have Gino's East pizza. We prefer that one when we lived there. Indiana was nice seeing family. Now in Phoenix. Holy cow is it hot here! Indiana and Chicago were so humid! The dry heat here is bad. Although, we were in the pools at the resort for 3 hrs yesterday. I got so sunburnt on back! I tried my best putting on the sunscreen, but was I to ask my 3 year old to do it? (since dh is here for work and not with us in the mornings) So, today is an inside day to give my back and shoulders a rest. We took our dd to her first movie last night. It was Toy Story and she just loved it (as did we)! I totally cried! It wasn't due to the movie but thoughts of Emma and her bear that has flown all over the US, Disney cruises and Hawaii. So, guess I realized that someday "bear bear" will be one of those toys that she won't be taking to college. I know everyone keeps telling us these times being young will go by quickly, some days it's just hard to realize that. Anyways, great to catch up with everyone. Also, we did get our excursions we wanted and dinner, but no brunch. So, will try to get it once on board. Although, we have to try and get Flounders at the same time for Logan.
My DS's bunny that he's had since he was a baby has been all over with us too. I guess when he gets too old we'll keep his bunny with us until he has kids.

I think this was discussed once before many threads ago, but do we have any idea of how many kids will be on the ship. We are bringing our 2 DD's ages 6 & 7. I wasn't sure if there is going to be many kids their age on the ship.
My DS is 7

so far we have..................

I am NOT including hecklers waving konk coolers at us
OR lap counters on deck 4

Sorry, not even going to heckle. We will barely have enough time to snorkle, pet the rays and bike ride. Way too short of a time on CC.

I'll be one of the few men with you doing laundry...

Jason and I will be doing laundry, too----and we're technically men ;) :lmao::lmao: (those of you who remember the tigger and tinker bell conversation of a couple weeks ago should get a chuckle out of that! :thumbsup2). We'll probably be playing games in the laundry room (or nearby) while we wait for our loads to get done!

Erik - Can't wait to see them!!! I still have my lanyard from the DD. BTW - I'm available if you need help getting them to the ship. Mailing shouldn't be too bad - I live in PA.
