Ok I am so looking forward to the cruise because I will not have to read tons of pages to keep up. Seriously last read at 3:00 yesterday and by 10:30 there was 10 pages :scared1::scared1::scared1:popcorn::

Yes if my husband packed that is what he would take. But he would use his bathing suit as shorts too.:rolleyes1

Just talked to Glenn he would like to play poker too. Not me I am lousy at the game.

So would mine but in case bathing suite was wet, he would wear them to dinner.:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

First, THANKS for all the wonderful welcomes! You all sound like a lot of fun, not to mention amazing planners!

Please bear with me, I'm new to the whole DIS thing. I clicked in this morning after posting last night and there were another 10 pages...don't think I can keep up!

:confused3 May I ask what a PM is? That seems to be the way to join in a lot of activities.

After looking through the 1st page of the thread and web site, as you all suggested:

--I will send an email to see if there are any lanyards still available

--The MM Club shirt idea is cute and will probably order some; what night are you wearing them? (Where on DCL can I find the designated dress codes for this cruise?)

--Is it too late to get in on the Embarkation Ts? (Great design, by the way!)

--Definitely interested in the private tour of Madeira! Haven't looked yet at shore excursions...anything anyone recommends?

--Might be interested in the wine tasting--is that an obligation? How will it work?

--Might be interested in the Hard Rock gathering--is that one you can just show up for?

I will PM whomever I need to, once I find out how...

Just booked yesterday (realized we had DVC points we were going to lose) so we still have to sort out our air schedule. Has anyone found Disney air to be reasonable from IAD or BWI?

We are planning to get into Barcelona on the 16th. Still looking at hotels, although planning to stay near the top of Las Ramblas near Plaza Catalunya. Barcelona is a very beautiful and walkable city.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Andrea

I will answer a couple of questions for you that may not have been answered:

1. I am organizing the private tour of Madeira. If you want details, send me a PM.
2. The wine tasting on the tour of Madeira is not required. If you don't want to taste, you will be taken back to the ship.
3. Hard Rock Cafe meet is being organized by mdwoodman. You can send him a PM with questions.
4. If you have missed the embarkation tee shirt window, you could always copy the design and have your own shirts made. Someone could correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think Todd would mind.

I agree Barcelona is a great walking city. We are taking a private tour the first whole day we are their to orient ourselves with the city.

I cant keep up with you all.
Whats the average page count per day does anyone know ?.

A quick question I have seen a couple of times, people mentioning this night or that night, isnt a good day for Palo dining. Is there an itinery out for our cruise yet ?, or has sombody worked it out ?.
I would love to know please. :worship:

Welcome! Here are the answers to some of your questions:

http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/faqs/onboard-dining/dining-attire/

Gibraltar: Many of us are doing this on our own, using public transportation. Some are signing up for various DCL excursions.
Madeira: contact birkner to sign up for our private DIS tour.
St. Maarten: Wide variety! (DW & I are just walking to the beach.)
Tortola: several of us are doing the Virgin Islands Sail & Snorkel.
CC: Again, a wide variety!

There are two different wine tastings being discussed:
1. DIS Group wine tasting on board the Disney Magic
2. Old Blandy's Lodge wine (actually Port) tasting on Madeira
I think you were asking about the latter; no, it is not required as part of our DIS tour. We will have at least 3 vans it appears. Some of us will be going on to Blandy's at the end of the tour, others will be headed back to the ship (or just staying in town to look around).

If you're interested in joining us at the Hard Rock Cafe, just let me know how many and I'll add you to the list. There is no obligation, I just need to give them an idea of how many will be showing up. You only pay for what you drink (and eat, if you so choose).

Melanie - your Epic cruise sounds wonderful. Just looked it up on their website. The ship is amazing!

:rotfl2:I am laughing at the spanx - no, I just wear the spanx nothing else. Although I tend to agree with Kimberly. I wish I could say the flab goes up to the chest, but it just gets sucked in - literally!! That is why your head might blow off. They are comfortable and I buy the same size I buy my underwear. You can ask any question, I don't get embarassed.;)

Welcome to the new people! I am going to check how many DVC points this cruise takes. I thought it was like 550 or 600, but it might have dropped. I am anxious to get my cabin number, but don't want to rush if it means I ruin my chance for an upgrade.

I'm going to too I've decided! I'm trying to walk in to work at least 2 times a week (its a 30-40 minute walk so its got to be good for me right?) Walking home I only go half way (around 15 mins) and then catch the bus as there's a very steep hill in the way which every time I go up I have to use my inhaler. I'm going to aim for this in a few months once my body stops rebelling on the way home from work lol!

That sounds like an excellent plan. You will be surprised how fast your body adapts to the exercise and then it will be easy. Maybe one day the steep incline won't trigger using your inhaler (I use one too! I've had asthma since I was a wee one but it is very, very mild now). Yay for you!

I think we all need to first to find a way to be happy with the person we are and with our relationships with those we love. Once we find that balance, I think we can try to eat sensibly, exercise, live life with a happy spirit and if we are lucky, have a fulfilling career. I can't imagine being on my deathbed worrying that I didn't loose enough weight.

Just my thoughts...

Amen sistah!

What style would you recommend. I don't fancy the ones going almost to the knees, but otherwise do you get VPL? also if you get a high waisted one do they stay in place. Thanks!!:thumbsup2

Noel - I forgot to comment before, but you summed it up beautifully! It is not what is on the outside, but what is on the inside!

Can anyone remember the itinerary that DCL gave for Formal nights etc. I know we have 2 options to choose from, but I think one had more CM's giving out.

I think Jan(Ebony) asked a while ago, but i can't remember the dates.

This is what Disney originally gave me:

1st Formal: 19th
2nd Formal: 24th
Theme Night: 25th
Pirate Night: 28th
Semi-Formal: 30th

This is the latest that most have been receiving:

1st Formal: 20th
Theme Night: 24th
2nd Formal: 25th
Pirate Night: 26th
Semi-Formal: 30th

At least we can be pretty certain about the Semi-Formal Night!!!

Where's Tim Allen?

Somebody was asking earlier about access to sites with a wheelchair or walker. I just found the following info for Gibraltar:

Easy Access Facilities for Disabled Persons in Gibraltar

Some of the areas of Gibraltar, as you might imagine, can be a little harder for the disabled or wheelchair bound person to get around in, with some of the areas of uneven ground or small slender steps being a challenge to access, but there are quite a few which have been made at least partly accessible for the visitors who are physically challenged.

The Government of Gibraltar is taking every step they can to meet the special needs of some of the visitors to Gibraltar, still some of the attractions of Gibraltar, given their natural leanings, can't be made to be fully accessible to the individual with special needs.

For this reason, and to compensate for the lack of complete accessibility, the Tourist Board of Gibraltar offers free access to disabled people who come to the Upper Rock. Additionally some of the older areas of Gibraltar town will not meet with your needs so its advisable to check with the Tourist board prior to visiting a given area with a wheelchair or special needs.

Some of the tourist attractions of Gibraltar which are accessible on any level have been listed below for your convenience.

Easy Access Areas:

•Apes Den, has clear access to special needs.
•World War II Rock and Fortress Tunnel Tour has good access.
•Gibraltar Arts and Crafts Exhibition also offers good access as well as lifts to upper floor.
•Shrine of Our Lady of Europe offers good access with a ramp at the entrance of the shrine.
•Alameda Botanical Gardens is completely accessible.
•John Mackintosh Hall, which is a library and cultural center has good access, along with lifts to the first floor of the center.

Some Access with moderate difficulty:

•St Michaels Cave, offers access to the entrance, bridge and the steps.
•Great Siege Tunnels offers access about half way, however there are steep hills and a set of steps to clear.
•Military Heritage Centre, is moderately difficult due to the ground being somewhat uneven.
•Nelsons Anchorage has access only to the exhibition. The actual gun access is difficult due to the narrow corridors and the steep steps that lead to the gun.
•Gibraltar Museum can offer access only to the lower floor.
•Alameda Wildlife Park is partly accessible to special needs, as it contains some steps which may be difficult to navigate.
•Trafalgar Cemetery will permit access to some areas of the cemetery.
•Gibraltar Crystal Factory offers a step into the factory, but help is provided by the factory staff.
•Flat Bastion Magazine is only accessible in part due to narrow corridors to navigate.

Very Difficult Access Areas:

•The City under Siege Exhibition is hard to access due to its steep steps and a very heavy door.
•The Moorish Castle Access will be difficult due to the narrow corridors that it offers as well as the steps.
•The Gibraltar Cable car requires the navigation of several flights of steps, making it a difficult access area.
•Parson’s Lodge is difficult due the several flights of stairs as well as some uneven pathways.
