This is what Disney originally gave me:

1st Formal: 19th
2nd Formal: 24th
Theme Night: 25th
Pirate Night: 28th
Semi-Formal: 30th

This is the latest that most have been receiving:

1st Formal: 20th
Theme Night: 24th
2nd Formal: 25th
Pirate Night: 26th
Semi-Formal: 30th

At least we can be pretty certain about the Semi-Formal Night!!!

:rotfl:Disney likes to keep us in suspense!!!

Thank you. Hopefully Jan will see this.

That sounds like an excellent plan. You will be surprised how fast your body adapts to the exercise and then it will be easy. Maybe one day the steep incline won't trigger using your inhaler (I use one too! I've had asthma since I was a wee one but it is very, very mild now). Yay for you!

Amen sistah!

Thanks Noel! I needed that! :flower3:

Noel - I forgot to comment before, but you summed it up beautifully! It is not what is on the outside, but what is on the inside!

Thanks to everyone for the kind words!:thumbsup2

Just had a nice chat with Michael at DCL. He and his wife will be traveling with us and they are doing the 10 Med right before. Turns out I've traveled with him before but didn't know it as he was on the 2007 WBTA and the 2008 EBPC.

Todd, he asked about you and Destin.

Here are the dates he gave me for the theme nights. This has been pretty consistent from DCL lately.

Formal
Day 3, Sept 20, Gibraltar
Day 8, Sept 25, Sea

Semi Formal
Day 13, Sept 30, Sea

Pirate
Day 9, Sept 26, Sea

Theme (which he didn't have any info on and said usually theme means pirates, but we have a listing for that already)
Day 7, Sept 24, Sea

He also said that DCL has been offering a lot of cast member and military deals on this and the Med cruise. While we are now past the cancellation penalty date and no discounts help us, this does bode well for free upgrades.

You must have read my mind!!!

All this talk of "Purses" and "Bras"

We really need to BEEF UP this Forum !!

GRRRR!!!

Pass me a beer....Did you see the soccer today???

I'm going to change the Oil in my Pick up

GRRRR!!!!

:rotfl2:

see, the problem is that I can just as easily participate in this conversation as I can in the ones about bras and purses

:lmao::lmao: I can hear Tim Allen now. GRRRR!!! :rotfl2:

I think we all need to first to find a way to be happy with the person we are and with our relationships with those we love. Once we find that balance, I think we can try to eat sensibly, exercise, live life with a happy spirit and if we are lucky, have a fulfilling career. I can't imagine being on my deathbed worrying that I didn't loose enough weight.

Just my thoughts...
:surfweb:

So true. So true.

I love the expression "broke sweat"!! Ok, I give what is a flimmer cleaner?
flimmin cleaner, like ffing cleaner, broke sweat " just plain sweating!
Yeah, moms can be like that. My mom used to call me the "Host*ss with the most *$$." Sweet, no? Oh, and another momism: when I had twins (back in prehistoric times), I opted to nurse them; she decided to call me "Dairy Queen." It's funny now, but at the time, not so much. Never one to hide her thoughts, my mom.

Thanks for the info, Steffy. I think my DH would have a coronary if I bought another purse, but....(hmmm, need to think of a good subterfuge).
That is funny, mums, I could lamp my mum sometimes.(but I love her)
But you would fight?!? :rotfl:

I got a terrific corset for my honeymoon  from starkers.com. They are absolutely gorgeous works of art. I am half considering making a pirate costume around the one I got, and maybe a formal night dress out of mine (over a skirt, with a shawl). It actually doesn't show that much skin - but sucks me in good. I'm a big gal, and I love the hourglass shape it gives me.

I'm also working on losing weight, but man, is it tough. I *should* lose 70 lbs, but would feel absolutely terrific losing 40. It is so hard to get the exercise in that I need, and I always feel starving when I cut back calories. It really isn't easy. However, as I get more towards my 40s I am concerned for my health and want to kick the overweight thing ASAP. Did I mention it wasn't easy?!? I don't have the self-discipline to eat really well all the time (but I am not a pop-drinker, or a junk-food addict, in fact, we eat pretty well, just too much and too often) and my job makes it impossible to always eat stuff from home. I don't have the self-discipline to exercise when I don't want to, which is most of the time :rotfl: I guess I gotta get me some self-discipline, honestly!

Oh I am sorry. You have my empathy. That sounds like an awful day.
It is tough, please dont give up, one day something will click and you will do it, it hard though thats for sure!
Well, I was good: I walked/jogged .85 of a mile (mapped it out afterwards) and got all good and sweaty. Now I can watch tv tonight guilt-free!
well done !!!

Good for you!! I am walking a loop every day for 1 1/2 hours. Not sure of the exact distance but I get sweaty and feel good afterward!!
you "broke sweat" :thumbsup2

I know we have talked bras and undies - I was waiting for the spanx talk! I just got mine about 3 weeks ago and absolutely love it!! It sucks in everything. It is comfortable, but haven't tried it during dinner or even sitting down for that matter. My head might blow off:rotfl2::rotfl2:. For standing up and the "look" in the outfit, so worth it.
This is so funny, Len said to me this am>>>>>> whats spanx:rotfl2:
Reading too much dis boards me think.
Guess what finally came in the mail today????

My income tax refund check! Now I can pay off the credit card that I used to make the final payment on for the cruise! :yay::yay::yay:

I'm trying to figure out what to pack...for all of those who have done a TA before, would it be ok to wear capri pants or do you think I should bring long pants? Mind you, I don't get cold very often, I'm usually warm to hot all of the time. I know there is still time, but I figured I'd ask while I'm thinking about it. :)
Its great talking about packing, I was trying stuff on today and getting myself completly over excited.
OMG!!!! We just booked this cruise today and I'm OVERWHELMED with all the information and activities on this thread! :scared1: Is it too late to get in on all this...Is there a summary somewhere or someone who can help condense all 168 pages of stuff to know...Help!

Really looking forward to this cruise. We love Barcelona! Gibraltar and Madeira will be new ports for us.

Maybe they'll give me a free upgrade since they won't refund my FS???? :thumbsup2 Unless they've now put me on their black list! :rotfl:

OK, I was wrong on the flimmer cleaner, but how funny there is such a thing.:lmao:

Yes, I am starting to try clothes on and see what I need(want;)) to buy. Hopefully this time it is a good time to be going away as soon there will be the sales!!!:yay: Usually we have gone when there are few summer clothes in the shops, and certainly no sales. Perhaps I should buy a bigger suitcase in the sales too!!:rotfl2:

I hope you noticed all of us scratching our heads. We were all but one of us wrong in our interpretation. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I did break sweat today again!!

:lmao::lmao: I can hear Tim Allen now. GRRRR!!! :rotfl2:

I just realized that you live in Berkshire, so you may not know what my reference was related to! Tim played a character on a show called "Home Improvement" years ago. Not sure if that ever aired across the pond or not. If not, understand Tim's character hosted a TV show called "Tool Time", which was a how-to-do-it-yourself kind of show. He always had these grunts he made to express manhood!

What style would you recommend. I don't fancy the ones going almost to the knees, but otherwise do you get VPL? also if you get a high waisted one do they stay in place. Thanks!!:thumbsup2

I found the high waisted ones rolled down!

I was thinking the same, that we may be able to pick up some late summer bargains!:cool1:

Would love to see how FL pirates match up.

Still no hearing aid. I did finally get a hold of a supervisor at Six Flags today. He wasn't really sympathetic and advised me to go ahead and purchase a new hearing aid. To which I advised him to mail me the $2k and I would. I also talked to his audiologist who suggested that for the insurance claim possibly he 'lost' both hearing aids since she's been wanting to change him to a different model anyway.
Thats a shame, Im really sorry it hasnt turned up,whats the hope on insurance?
I cannot go a day with out you, To all who do not know she is the BEST SISTER in the WORLD...
(No she did not force me to say that)
I hear all about the trip and the planning that goes on but play my games anyway. Now I got to tend to my farm she just went to bed. Night all ;)
night night
Great news on finding your dress .... I have been checking out Ebay for formal number 2 but not come up with anything so far. At the moment I am about 2 inches too wide for my existing formal and semi formal, so I hope to lose enough weight to fit into them, otherwise I will have to leave the zip open and wear a shrug :rotfl:

Me too .... we are having lovely walks along the sea front every evening and eating outside. Hope it lasts.

Hi and :welcome: aboard! Great to see you posting.

More wishful thinking than willpower .... its a lot easier to write it than to do it .... and if the weather stays nice in July / August the BBQs will be out and the willpower will be seriously threatened. I am trying to limit my social life in August just to lose weight ... so far I have one wedding and hopefully a celebratory meal out for DS if he does well in his GCSE results.

OK .... what exactly is "spanx" It sounds like some sort of support underwear. I have found that support underwear doesn't get rid of the flab, it just pushes it up or down and so it just sticks out in a different loacation. If it really "works" I will be interested for sure.

Hi and :welcome: aboard. We are Sarah and Tony from Wales, and it is our second DCL cruise.

Might need to invest in a pedometer .... would love one which tells you how many calories you are burning.

:
Spanx are great, I bought tights for last cruise, very comfy.
I have (well len has) a garmin fore runner, it tells you all stuff like miles cals and stuff, running is such a GREAT calorie burner, monday at the gym I done 5miles at 1.5 grad and I burned 820 cals!!

You are so funny! :lmao:

What!?! You haven't packed yet, are you kidding :rotfl2:

Welcome, I am Hayley, we are from Australia, I will be travelling with my DH Terry and 2 DD's Lucy and Bella. :goodvibes

Underwear, Hmmmm, I suppose if the spanx have a cotton crutch I wouldn't, If they are all lycra I would. :confused3

That would make me happy, I have a way to go though, since this is our first cruise! ;)

OK, Deck 7 laundry at 2am, bring Mickey bars (or cheese platters and wine?), what night/s?

Sue, go and try on some Spanx, they really make you feel like you've been poured into a second skin which is far too tight! :scared1:
DH Terry thinks that Spanx are 'false advertising', LOL :rotfl2:
Having said all that, they do work well and I would wear them If I needed them for a specific dress or occasion. :thumbsup2

We'll try not to talk too much, :rotfl2:

Something good may come of it then, I hope so!

She would know! ;)

Just get yourself a pregnancy extender. :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:
Oh, BBQ weather is hard, potato salads, garlic breads, key lime pies, yum.......It's winter here, Just as bad, We just had Roast Lamb with all the trimmings for dinner, YUM!
Spanx are exactly what you thought, I think Trinny and Susannah brought out a similar range in the UK. I need one that goes from my ankles to my neck to stop the dreaded flab overflow! :rotfl2:

OhNo, I really need to learn to keep my mouth shut! :rolleyes1
No dont keep your mouth shout, sometimes I think that but then I think its probably better folks know what Im like before they decide if they want to meet me
Please don't, we love your openness and sense of humour!!!!:worship: This thread is just great, and we have such a lovely group of people going on this cruise!!:dance3:
I agree
Thanks! All its done is made me not want to loose any weight at all and stuff my face so probably not helpful lol. Im 121kg now so have loads to loose - well actually my ideal weight is meant to be 72kg! In pounds I think I should be around the 160lb mark and I'm 266lbs! Wow that sounds scarey doesn't it? so I have around the 100lb mark to loose although I think if I lost that amount I would look ill as I don't look huge now! That's 11 stone! Oh my God Im scared now!
72 !! that does sound scary but I lost 112 lbs, and have kept it off for 4 years(well except this poxy 10 lbs) I think you have to do it bit by bit.
When I look at old photos I seriously dont recognize myself.
And a big puffy neck and face!!!
lol
Well i could still be wrong. We will have to wait for Lynne to come along and put us right!!!

It so annoys me how low a weight the medical profession would like us to be. I don't think they are happy till we look all scraggy and wrinkly!!! Then they will tell us we need to get some decent nutrition inside us!!! There is a happy medium somewhere to look, and be healthy and happy.
I know skiiny makes some folks llook old.
Candida might have an answer for this. I'll talk to her once she is up and moving or send her an email.

This group is really going to get into trouble, with 14 days together on one small ship. It seems like no matter what the topic is it eventually comes back to underwear:goodvibes

I'll toss my answer into the ring..................

Welcome, there are a few of us staying there. We'll be coming in on the 16th as well

Jon

That and all the tasting, weve had it,lol

That would easily fit into a carry-on. Just think, no excess baggage fees.

We spent one week in Munich and loved it -- especially our tour of the BMV factory and a daytrip to Neuschwanstein.

I know, monday night I refused a glass of wine at my mums(shock horrer) anyway I said I need to get down to my cruising wt, len says there is such a thing in boxing!? I dont believe him, I forgot to google it.
I hope you noticed all of us scratching our heads. We were all but one of us wrong in our interpretation. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

As long as it's the right kind of beer (none of that cheapo Budweiser or Coors stuff) then I'm all into changing the conversation!! Unfortunately it's the wrong time of year for my sports - college basketball!!!

You will need to interpret all that for some of the others!!

That would be toilet seat, comp at work wont let me edit or use the smilies tonight, annoying.need to go through the front.

You will need to interpret all that for some of the others!!

I googled and got this:

Haggis is a dish containing sheep's 'pluck' (heart, liver and lungs), minced with onion, oatmeal, suet, spices, and salt, mixed with stock, and traditionally simmered in the animal's stomach for approximately three hours. Most modern commercial haggis is prepared in a casing rather than an actual stomach. There are also meat-free recipes for vegetarians.

The haggis is a traditional Scottish dish memorialised as the national dish of Scotland by Robert Burns' poem Address to a Haggis in 1787. Haggis is traditionally served with "neeps and tatties" (Scots: swede, yellow turnip or rutabaga and potatoes, boiled and mashed separately) and a "dram" (i.e. a glass of Scotch whisky), especially as the main course of a Burns supper. However it is also often eaten with other accompaniments, or served with a whisky-based sauce.
