If anyone out there is sweltering in excessive heat, please share with us frozen Brits.

As Sue said, it was upper 90's here in Atlanta, and feeling like low 100's yesterday. Sunny with only a few clouds during the day. I played in an outdoor volleyball tournament all day yesterday and it was definitely sweltering.

Ahhhh, sigh!! Though I think that might be a little too hot! I'm not keep on high humidity.

A 'heads up' for anyone who has a little time and would like a taster of a med cruise with DCL.......there is a great video report on You Tube, you can find it under 'PGC Disney Med Cruise' (not sure I can post a link here) and its fab!:cool1: Its posted by a family who I think are on here and a UK site too :thumbsup2

Just thought someone may like to see it as they fly from Liverpool to Barcelona to get on the Magic etc:cool1:

This made my day, UKANGEL! It made me remember why I am working so hard and why we are eating so cheaply until cruise time. We are 92 days from starting our journey. (Wish I could hire PGC to come along and be our videographer. He did a great job.)

isn't it wonderful? I'm still watching it, its really getting me in the mood for our cruise! Like you I wish my filming was half as good as Phil's!:thumbsup2

Well it is still cool here - make that cold actually!:confused3 I really don't know what has happened to the British summer these days. Ah well roll on September. We went off to Florida in early February for 6 weeks to get a little warm weather but it didn't materialise there either, so I feel a little starved right now.:lmao:

I second that .... we could do with some warm weather .... rubbish here at the moment :sad2:

I would gladly take some of that heat also...we are still getting frost in the evenings....keep asking myself why did we choose so far north? :confused3

Chuck some of that lovely sunshine over the pond please, all us Brits would be very grateful! It was quite sunny here this morning but has clouded over now (I think I scared it off when I went swimming in the outdoor pool!....:rotfl2:)

OK I have a feeling this may have worked. Started off cold and miserable and now sat in work with the windows open and my fan on as its so hot!

We are in for a cold night, so make the most of it!!!! I think the rest of the week might be a little better though.

You guys can take our heat any time. I will send it over! Very hot in Florida today.

I added Janice to the scrapbook FE exchange and Sue. Sarah, I know you said you would like to do it, but I didn't know whether to put you on the list - I didn't know if you were serious. We don't care how well or how bad you scrapbook - or how often - we just want to make it fun, have something from everybody to remember the trip! :cool1:

Whoever is cold, send the cool breeze our way!!

There might be a few (cough) (cough) more Farmville addicts too dare I say it :lmao:

:lmao::lmao::lmao: Yup and Paula is on my farmville friends list. PoohluvsFigment you may want to add me :)

Oh and the newest trend is Frontierville it is pretty cute too :)

LOL

My name is Sarah and I am a FarmVille/Cafe World/Hotel World addict. I am also a recovering Mall World addict - don't like the new wait times for clothes!

ROFL I never tried cafe world or mall world. But Farmville I like the best cause you can return a gift the easiest. No must or fuss just click and click again :)

Maybe we should hold a meet to help us cope with our facebook withdrawl :)

I have terrible news for our family to pass along, and if you're a pet lover, you will understand. About 15 minutes before I was suppose to have arrived at my mom's Sunday morning, I called her to let her know that I was running late and was just about to leave home. It takes about 70 minutes to get to her place. She said that was okay and don't rush. She was still getting ready herself. When I arrived, she was standing up between the couch and coffee table, visably shaken up with red eyes. I looked over at her husband, who was sitting in a chair, and he was just staring at the floor, sniffling. Something was certainly not right. My thoughts were that maybe they had just had a fight or something.

I asked if she was okay, and she said "I just lost Sidney", her Bichon Frise. So I'm thinking "Well why aren't you outside looking for him?" Outloud, I asked "What do you mean? You lost him?" Well that's what didn't feel right as soon as I walked in. He wasn't there barking at me with his tale wagging a hundred miles an hour.

"He got ran over by a car" was her response. Since she was still waiting for me, she went to the credit union to get some cash from the ATM, so Sidney went with her. She had put on his collar before leaving the house and put his leash in the car with her purse. When she got to the credit union building, she parked and got out of the car. She turned around before closing the door to make sure she didn't close it on him, but he wasn't there. Apparently he saw two young girls in the parking lot, so he darted out of the car to make new friends, unknowing to her. She kept calling for him, walked around the car, but couldn't find him. Then she looked up and saw the two girls staring at the street. This is the part that is still unclear to me, but for some reason he darted across the street. A car hit him, breaking his neck. She said "All I saw as a white puff laying in the road". After being stunned, she asked the girls if he was dead, and one tearfully said "I think so". Mom ran into the street, and she said she saw his head slightly move. She picked him up, and his eyes were fixed on her, so she closed them, just as a nurse (and she is one) would do. About two minutes later, he became lifeless. If there can be any good, we're so thankful that his death was nearly instant, but we believe he had no pain.

We're just so devasted. I feel so horrible for her, and even as I type this I am crying. He was her true companion, and she relied on Sidney for love and affection because she doesn't get it from her husband. She's also afraid her husband is going to blame her because Sidney was in her care when it happened. Of course she never expected him to dart out of the car, so it's not her fault. My grandmother and I have been talking about it, and everything about the story is just not usual behavior for Sidney to run so far away from his mommy. Although some have already said "No, Kimberly", I feel guilty. If I had been at her place on time, she wouldn't have had time to go the ATM with Sidney, and it never would have happened. It's just not easy to stay away from the "what ifs".

Please send good thoughts in the wind for my mom....she needs them. Thank you! :)

Well, I have pages and pages of posts to catch up on...

Have a good one.

Aaaw Kimberley, I'm so sorry and so sad to hear that. How devastating for your mom. It does appear Sidney's death, though traumatic, was pain free, and your mom was able to be with him right at the end. I hope she doesn't get any backlash from her husband, and I send her love and hugs, and to you too. Don't feel guilty, these things happen.

So sorry to hear of your mom's loss. Losing a pet is devastating. Let her know that I am thinking good thoughts for her and her dear Sidney.

I totally agree. It hurts but at least she was with Sidney when he passed.:hug:

I am crying big tears here, still thinking about Miles passing in my arms. It has only been two months and it still hurts so much.

Lots of good thoughts for you all Kimberley. Very sad for you all, its always dreadful to lose a beloved pet, especially in that way. Try not to feel guilty though, it really wasn't your fault.
