"Compensation" doesn't seem the right word for having to spend an extra night on the Magic .... not exactly a hardship

Feel sorry for those who have had their cruise cut short though

While an extra night and day on the Magic would be wonderful, for those who are having to rearrange missed flights it might be considered a bit of a hardship. One family posted that they are now in a FL hotel since they cannot get another flight home until Tues. Our DD was heading to WDW for a week so no problems for her. They gave them 20% off next cruise. The ones who had cruise cut short were given much more compensation. Lodging the night they should have been on the ship, a day at Epcot with meal gift card, snacks and entertainment, OBC of $100 per stateroom and $20 per person in the stateroom.

Happy Valentines Day WBTA!

I went mattress shopping today. Really liked the Sleep Number bed, until I found out it was an air mattress. I need to figure out how to guarantee my DGS doesn't jump on it.

So then I went to the Sealy. WOW. Loved it. Could have slept in the store. Then I went to Serta. Couldn't find one that wowed me as much as the Sealy. Then I looked at the foam. Liked the one, but don't know if I loved it as much as the Sealy. So I will have to revisit tomorrow.

So, to sum it up, I'm still bedless today.

At least you know what you want though.

Not to great. I got my car stuck in the snow on a sidestreet yesterday, a few days after the snow stopped. Plus they are calling for another 4-10 inches Monday into Tuesday. I am done with winter.

Steffy- we have had our sleep number bed for 5 years and my two boys jump on it all the time! LOL! Never had a problem with it. My mom has one too, and she loves it. Just our experience with them has been great.


orlandothebeagle- didn't actually go to sleep till almost midnight, then Liam decided to get up at 6am. Guess I better learn to go to sleep when they do! Darn Olympics keep me up. I told DH not to put a tv in our bedroom!

Poor you, I have thought often about putting tv in bedroom and so far have resisted for that very reason
Happy Valentine's Day everyone! DH took me to lunch and a movie today, it was nice 'grown up' time! I even pushed my diet aside and share a nice piece of banana cream pie with DH!

Looks like we MAY get our wish after all! DH MAY have a chance to get transferred back to FL!!!!!! Dont want to get my hopes up, but cross your fingers for us! I just hope it happens before we need to buy flights and the new boss is as OK with the LONG vacation as his boss now is!

Well, I got a letter from disney today giving us a 100 obc, to say thanks for our business, is it coming up to payment date??


Well, Im finally home after 3 nights away at work, beagles went mental when I came in, Ruby gave me a big fat bloody lip she got so excited, they are sweet but nuuty, and I love them to bits.
Anyway, been to bed for a few hours and now I am good to go
for a walk, cant decide whether to go out to dinner tonight, go for a drink and pick up take away on way home or cook in.mmmmm

Welcome aboard!! I wish my 10 year old GS was coming as we didn't have as many boys his age on our last cruise. None of my GK's can come because of school issues as mentioned by other parents.

I feel very fortunate... We talked to the schools and were told that this was a trip of a lifetime - and ofcourse we could take Stephen (will be in 8th) and Becca (will be in 1st) out of school for an extra 7 days. So, that plus we get a fall break allows them to both take a trip that many other kids cant.

I think you are absolutely correct. John is staying at the Cataluyna Plaza hotel so that must be right down the street from his hotel which is just a few blocks from the Praktik Rambla where so many folks are staying.

Just like so many American towns, is it not? I suppose that on a Satuday night when I assume these photos were taken it is a very crowded time. I will ask John how the streets are during the week.

Boy, I hope something like that comes to us!! Nothing so far.

I feel very fortunate... My GK's who go to modified year round school get two weeks in October, two weeks in December and two weeks in March. They did do a week in WDW and a DCL cruise with us in 2006 in March. Also, all of us did the Xmas week in WDW and the NYE DCL cruise in December 2007. However, taking them out for two or three weeks during September would be out of the question. They are really bummed about not coming this time but it could not be helped.

So, another crazy morning. Liam woke up at 5:45am.....it gets earlier every day! He was so cranky and obviously still tired....but would not go back to sleep. I just wanted to sleep after staying up watching Skiing last night...oh well. The boys are at school today so it is a nice quiet day....a nap sounds good

The Disney Store by us is closing down this week, so we went in this morning and got a few things. Two new soccer balls for the boys (Power Rangers, of course), some plates and bowls, a mini Toy Story snow globe and only spent $17. Nice to get a deal~

I am so ready for this vacation. I am slightly worried something will happen to prevent us from going. But I am really hoping everything goes as planned. The last cruise DH and I were on was a 4nt in Sept 08, so we are way overdue!

No letter for me, but booked through a TA, so asked her a few months ago when everyone was talking about getting them. We were lucky and got the $100 OBC for both of us and on both the 10 day and TA.

I posted this reply a few minutes ago, but had technical issues so I'm trying again. Apologies in advance if this ends up being a duplicate post.

We received the letter about the $100/pp OBC back in the fall, and I've confirmed with my TA that it applies to the WBTA (since the letter said Med cruises). So we're getting $400 additional OBC for our room, in addition to the OBC from rebooking and from our TA.

The $100/pp Thank You OBC was for folk who had booked the Med cruises as of 11/30 or 12/01 or thereabouts as an incentive to keep folks from changing or canceling your cruises (I assume should prices go down or additional incentives be offered.) The OBC is non-transferrable and you lose it if you rebook or move to another date. My FIL lost his additional OBC when I rebooked him while onboard in mid-December (but he still came out ahead by the 10% discount) and the agent didn't tell us that would happen if we rebooked. Others have reported losing the OBC when transferring from on Med cruise to another.

So those who have booked since Dec 1 or thereabouts probably won't be getting the additional $100/pp OBC unless they change the offer again.

And if you're getting 100 GBP instead of $100, I'll be very jealous!!

The hosting company moved us onto a new server platform, and I didn't read the fine print saying the new platform didn't work with Frontpage (which I used to create the site). I've asked them to move it back to a Frontpage compatible server, but I'm guessing they're swamped with calls due to the migration, and just haven't got to it yet. Hopefully it will be back up soon.

I guess you get what you pay for, and at $84 per year, I don't get much
