What fantastic stories.

We met on my 19th birthday party, some one else brought Leonard, it wasnt love at first sight, but I was fair taken by Leonard.;)
The rest they say is history.

That was over 20 years ago, been married for 19.
I am 39 and Lens 51, that sounds a huge differance but when I get to 40:confused: it wont seem to bad. :rotfl:
We first went to Florida for our honeymoon, we were tight for money and I had a part time job in a pub at night as well as my full time job to pay for it, Len wanted to go to Portugal, its a shame we never went cause I would be rich:lmao:
We have never got around to having kids and definatly will not now as we are too old.
So we have our beagles instead:dance3:
We LOVE to travel, we love our convertable car.
And we have 2 horses to take up any spare cash we have !!!
Murphy the big horse is 13 ,we have had him since a year old. The old one was rehomed from a charity, she is cute and kicks Murph bootee into shape, and she is a tiny shetland.

OK so me and Dan met in December 2007 while I was out at my Christmas do - and I think he was out at his but I don't know. I was def love at first sight for me. We've been together ever since and officially moved in together in April last year!

We first went to Florida in October 2008 and it was Dans first trip to Disney. Thank God he loved it lol

About us, we will celebrate our 43rd anniversary just after we get off the ship. :lovestruc We are staying at BCV in WDW for that. We met at Disneyland Sept. 9 1967 married less than 4 weeks later Oct 6. 3 kids from 32 to 41 years old, 5 grandkids from 10-20 years old. We both retired (Dennis was a pharmacist, I a patient advocate at a Veterans Hospital) in Aug 2008, moved to MT from OR and then did a 5 month 23 state trip in our MH thru the winter/spring of 2008 - 2009. We had a ball and plan another trip doing the northern states and then down the Eastern seaboard states beginning sometime in May ending in FL in time to fly to Barcelona Sept 15.
I will turn 60 this year also, but a bit before Steffy. Dennis just turned 65, we celebrated at Disneyland. :woohoo:

That is incredible, knowing each other for only a month before getting married. And what a great road trip for retirement! :thumbsup2

Good morning everyone! My name is April (age 35) and I'll be taking this cruise with my dad (age 64). My plans have changed several times (EB to WB, different traveling companions), but have never included my husband since he's horrified at the idea of so many sea days - one at a time is enough for him! He'll be at home taking care of our critters (four cats, a dog and a bird). I actually worked in reservations for DCL back in 1999 (not the most pleasant place to work at that time) and cruised for the very first time on the Magic. When my dad turned 60 I convinced my husband that we should take he & his girlfriend on a cruise, and after much research decided to stick with DCL since they seemed the best fit for my family. Everyone loved cruising DCL so much that we've gone annually ever since! To pay for my cruising habit I run a pet sitting company, and my dad is a retired engineer.

Our turn:

I am Carolynn, 37, and a midwife that works in the community, at home, and at two local hospitals. I like reading, knitting, planning vacations, gardening, photography, and camping. I have a stressful job as both a midwife and an owner of the practice, as well as the Head Midwife at our two hospitals, so I like to escape on to the Disboards for some immersive escapism! I am currently challenged by organizing our small house, and welcome the day when everything has a place.

DH, Paul, is 43 and an IT guy, who also teaches at an electrician's Local. He likes to read, hike, nap in chairs, knot-tying, and dreams of building a geodesic dome somewhere remote.

Kai is almost 12, and loves his DSi, Wii, being read to, building stuff, and is a an anchor in our family. He is quiet and easy-going, and has a strong sense of his own values. He stands out as a *truly* good person. He makes me look good as a mother! He is our Wall-E.

Taryn is 10 and our free spirit artist girl. She loves drawing anime and cartoons, loves swimming, and singing. She is fearless and loves her family and friends fiercely. She is our Lilo.

Alden is almost 3 and a demanding, charming, and active kid. He loves singing and making jokes, and has a lot of self-confidence. He is bright and enquisitive. He is our Mickey Mouse.

My Mom - Trudy - is 62 and a patient, kind, completely loving person. She is smart and bright, and great company.

Paul and I met through a friend while he was ending a relationship. A few months later, newly single, he looked me up and the rest is history! We jumped right into creating a family, and have been blessed with three terrific children. We have a dog (standard poodle, Georgie), a cat (blach DSH, Chickpea), a leopard gecko - Rainbow, many goldfish, and two chinchillas (Honey and Smoky). Did I mention we have a small house? :rotfl:

You all been busy writing on the forum, i have been for a week in Dubai.
So alot to read for me.

Still can't get over the similarities here ...... I am also a midwife and also have a daughter called Taryn who is also an artist. How weird is that !!!

If you also live in Toronto, and are married to Paul, we have a problem :lmao:

Seriously, we *must* have drinks when we get to meet. That is too cool! I haven't met many Taryns before - and that she is an artist is really neat!

Probably won't last past 80 years or so. :rotfl: 80 years is a goal I set last month when I saw a couple on the news celebrating their 80th anniversary.

Small World! :thumbsup2

Lol I know right?

Oh and thanks for the tip on FSC! I emailed today to "complain" again about how this had to be on our ressie and they reshopped saying I still get the OBC (same reservation no so all good and room number for that one). Does mean about a $70 increase in per person price for the cruise but the FSC was like $300 and so I figure taking a bit of a loss is OK as its covered by the OBC.

Yes, it will be fantastic! My dad is actually loads of fun to do things with - he has a very upbeat attitude and tends to roll with the punches. When I was growing up my dad considered a couple of trips each year to be necessary to recharge, so I did a lot of domestic travel with him when I was young. This will be the first visit to Europe for each of us, and I'm very excited about it! :cool1: Nowadays he lives in Kissimmee, FL, and plays tour guide around the area for anyone who visits, while I live in CT.

Itll be really nice then! I agree with travelling a lot to recharge! My parents and sister/her hubby are going away in a few weeks and I keep thinking "wish I was going somewhere"! Oh well bring on Easter and a week dog sitting for my sister lol!

Oh Question:

Anyone every ordered Suite through DCL? If so when do I need to order by? Is there a cut off date? Don't want to order it too early but don't want to leave it too late either. Dan hates wearing formal wear so wont be buying any and this way he can wear it for the cruise and not moan lol!

Connie - I am so jealous! Was it nice? What was the weather like?

It was so nice, and so different then i tought. I have been in Egypt and tought Dubai is a bit the same only whit big buildings. But it's more like New York, and the people are so nice and relaxt. I loved the big malls so great, and Ski Dubai was also great. And the food was great real american food, and european.

The weather was great 28 gr. celcius not to hot.

We flyed whit BA from dusseldorf to london and then to Dubai.

If you like i will put some photo's on the forum.
