PS, when do we get kiI am well impressed!!cked to the new thread?

Thank you to everyone for the well wishes.

The health care system in North Dakota came through for her. After spending three nights in a same town hospital being taken care of they discharged her with the plan to head to a large facility for a consultation. We got there 45 min before her scheduled apt. Waited for just a couple minutes before they called us into the exam room. No waiting there, doctor came in right away. Discussed the options. Do to the situation it was suggested she try to get in for a day surgery to remove the stone. The doctor left and within a couple minutes came back to say that the OR would give him the room at 2pm. Less than three hours from the time we got to the hospital in the first place. Long story short, 5 1/2 hrs after we walked into the facility, we were walking out. Minus one kidney stone.

Now the rest of the family will be joining us over the next couple days to celebrate the life my step dad had.

Jon

Glad it is out and dw is on the mend, tell her we are all asking for her!!:grouphug:

Thanks for all the input on updates to the PR Roll Call! I'm glad it's helpful!

Good news that they helped her out so quickly. Sending more :hug: for both of you and your family for the coming days.

The thread is still going!
what's the limit? have we gone over it yet? LOL ....

We booked an apt. It was more room and less expensive for our family of 5 to stay in the apt we booked than PR or even PB! But wow, you guys are taking over those hotels. LOL :)

Oh bummer! (bolded part)
I saw that on the website the Barcelona excursions are listed as available for OUR cruise....But DCL says no? Well they need to correct their website then.....

We must not be viewed as a rowdy group since 250 pages came and went without being closed! With my luck, I'll go to save this posting, and the thread will be closed so I loose my text! [Note to self: Copy text before saving!]

Thanks for responding regarding your pre-cruise lodging decision!

Although I'll have 2 days before the cruise in Barcelona, I was also bummed to read that DCL isn't sponsoring excursions. I was looking at them on-line in fact, to help me plan out what I want to do Thursday and Friday!

.....I really want to do the sightseeing bus tour. I want to get on and off and see the city. Walk around the Ramblas. Have a nice meal. Some really good coffee. Some Sangria! Lots and lots of Sangria.:cool1::cool1:

You have the same ideas I have! Are you referring to the bus that has something like 44 stops and you get on and off wherever/whenever you want? I'm thinking about that, too. I think that's a great way to get a taste of the city. I did a similiar thing in San Diego on my first day there, and it was so nice because then I knew what I really wanted to go back and spend more time exploring.

Needle update...... stuck in back of throat with thread still attached , phew, saved the cat a lot of hassle, night shift, dont you just love it??!

Happy to hear this!

Thank you to everyone for the well wishes.

Jon

Great news! I know many people who have had kidney stones and it's just sooo painful. Happy the stone is gone. :goodvibes

WOW Kimberly ...... this is great, so well presented. Must print it off and try and put names to faces so I will know who is who when we see you in the hotel :goodvibes

I agree. I'm relatively new and need to put faces to names.

OMG I hope a taxi doesn't cost $30 pp! that's crazy..... that'll be $150 for us to take a taxi? geesh. The apt is on the bus and train route but geesh, I really don't want to drag our luggage on either the train or the bus.... :( I might have to if the taxi cost that much. I don't wanna spend that much just getting to the apt! geesh

I checked a different website (http://www.barcelona-tourist-guide.com/en/airport/barcelona-airport-transport.html) and it turns out I had incorrect information. It will be 25-30 euros (depends on which terminal you arrive at) for the trip and there is a surcharge for bags. So it's cheaper than I had previously been told but costs more than public transit. The website says the taxis in Barcelona and clean and reliable. I will have two HUGE suitcases plus a carry-on so I may pay for the taxi because I don't want to haul all of that on public transit. And I can split the cost of the taxi with my friend. (Thanks Jennie!) :rotfl:

I will look into this tour. Sounds perfect for the first day. I can get acquainted with the city before venturing out on my own. Thanks! :hippie:

One of the best tours we did in Barcelona was the fat tire bicycle tour ....Real easy to peddle and keep up and it takes through all the different parts of the city ... I would do this again if we have time ..

This is a great tour as well , we never did it in Barcelona but I did do it in San Francisco and it was great ...This may be what I will do in Barcelona

Yep. The one I'm looking at, which I think is the same as you're looking at, is a double-decker tour bus. Here's a site with two different companies listed. In either case, right now it's less than $30 US.

(BTW, to make text a link, copy the website address, type the text in your message, highlight your text, click on the icon above with the globe and a link, and paste the address.)
