Disneyland is our favorite. It has the magic of Walt having walked there and the magic of our meeting there. Our first kiss was on the bridge in front of the Castle. We married 3 and a half weeks after we met.

Awww...how sweet! That is a wonderful story!!! How Disney-like!

We are spending this week with DrHug's sis and bil in Mission Viejo, CA. We have not been with her at Christmas for years! What a blessing this is for all of us. Her daughter and her fiance will join us tomorrow night, so 6 of us for dinner Christmas Day. I have two apple pies just coming out of the oven now and a pumpkin ready to go in. One apple for tonight and one for Christmas dinner. Yummer!

We hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas! :grouphug:

What a wonderful story!:cloud9:

Welcome to the newcomers!!! It seems like we will have a quite a wonderful group by the time we actual sail! Hard to think that it is still almost two years away.

Sounds like everyone is busy with holiday gatherings, festivities, etc. We are as well. FINALLY convinced DD5 to go see Santa (mama needs a picture!) this afternoon:banana:  . She got cold feet, but the "elf" was great and Santa was awesome too so it worked out. Now she is very excited. There is a big lights display at the fairgrounds. When I pick up DD14 from swim practice tonight we are going to drive by the lights. Another mom told her son it was Santa's "satellite workshop" - DD5 will love that.

Welcome back Hadley! Now I can officially say CONGRATS!!! I'm glad the trip went so well and lots of details are resolved. It's great that the kids are excited about the move too. You're going to be so busy over the next few weeks, but it is a fun busy. Good luck with all the packing, etc!

Oh yes, favorite park has got to be the original. Disneyland will always be the happiest place on earth for me!

Woody, I have done this cruise on HAL's Ryndam. It remains one of my favorite cruises! Agree with you about the price tag. How was the entertainment on that cruise? The entertainment on ours was pretty bad ... I'm just saying! I think though that was because, in our early 30s, hubby and me were the youngest on the ship, by far.
Oops! It was the Ryndam. I had it confused with a future cruise.

The main shows were a mixed bag. We enjoyed the outside talent -- a comedian, a visual comic, and a singer -- who were all brought onboard. There were two movie nights, "Mama Mia" and "Brideshead Revisited." The production shows were just okay. The best way to compare the production shows: DCL is like Broadway; HAL is like old Las Vegas.

As for the age of the guests, let's just say it made us feel young.

Yep. :lovestruc And DrHug will tell you the whole story as many times as you will listen to it! :rolleyes1

Awwww...that is so cute!!!! My DF and I met online on a Disney dating site and on our first date, we went to go to see POTC 2! :) I can't wait to marry him in October!

Boy, I forgot how hard it is to get everything done when you're working full time. Haven't been about to be around much, but wanted to stop by and wish everyone a

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I'm not sure when I'll make it back on.

Favorite rides....hmm...on the west coast Pirates, on the east coast Expedition Everest, in Paris Rock n Roller Coaster and in Japan Winnie the Pooh....haven't made it to China yet

Favorite park the original Disneyland, love to walk where Walt did. And followed closly by Tokyo DisneySea, simply amazing.

...I agree, it's almost impossible to pick a very favorite. I'd have to pick a favorite from each park, and that wasn't the game, so I'll pass for now. ;)...

Ride:
DL--Small World Holiday. When that's not in season, Splash Mountain
CA--Tower of Terror
MK--People Mover/Philharmagic
HS--Rock n Roller Coaster
AK--Expedition Everest
EPCOT--Mission Space

Park:
Epcot...

Glad to see you answered after you saw the rest of us giving more than a "one-ride" answer. It's okay to color outside the lines with us.:)

It's a Small World at DL is very special to us.....we met on that ride in 1967. ... Disneyland is our favorite. It has the magic of Walt having walked there and the magic of our meeting there. Our first kiss was on the bridge in front of the Castle. We married 3 and a half weeks after we met.

I am ready for the story popcorn:: ; I want more details; this sounds interesting. Was it just a random meeting?

For all you spinning the dreidel:
Happy Chanukah

I cant wait to hear it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Romance is not dead after all:thumbsup2

I am up early doing chores, last night i had all the candles on, I bought a really cool ancient silver candle holder,(candellabra?) from the charity shop, anyway I blew them out and blew the wax all over the window and everything else, what a darn mess, so i am away to try and clean, pick and and scrape the wax off everything. Guess my lungs are better than I thought!!All that marathon training came in handy to make a right mess!

We are having friends tonight for drinks and supper, the beagle club had to cancel the xmas party for insurance problems at the hall, so I invited a couple over that lives 2 mile up the road, kind of half heartedly,I didnt think they would come but I was delighted when they e-mailed us back and said they would come! So only ever really chatted on the net and for 5 mins at a time so really looking forward to it.

I cant say what i got len for xmas cause he reads this but I cant wait to give it to him, I got it from e-bay, :woohoo: little but really cool!!

Any way I was steaming chestnuts and I come on the net to see how long for and the micro just beeped, so they got 15 mins!! oops, I forgot, take care speak soon.

I completely agree with your assessment! We always skip the production shows. They are usually pretty painful. I remember one specifically that they did that showcased songs from movies. We're seated in the theater, waiting for the show to start, and we see the stage get smoky. From underneath the stage, up rises a platform with one of the male singers dressed in purple, complete with a purple cape. Yep, you guesed it .. he was singing Purple Rain by Prince and acting out the movie. The ridiculousness of it made it difficult to not laugh out loud. It was bad, but memorable. :)

We are going on the Westerdam 10/25-11/8 next year. It stops at Half Moon Cay at the beginning and end of the cruise, which will be a highlight for us. Have you been to HMC? That is one of the things I actually like better about HAL v. DCL.

Tell me, since you were on the Ryndam, was Capt. Consen there? He remains my favorite captain of all my cruises.

Favorite Rides/Attractions!

MK- hand down The Haunted Mansion! (when I was a kid, I had an LP...yes the big floppy black disk with grooves....that had the original story starring Ron Howard...it was the BEST! When I went to WDW for the 1st time at 12 years old I almost wet my pants when I realised... IT WAS THE SAME!

HS- Tower of Terror! I love the whole preshow twilight show thing.

AK- the tree of life is just so beautiful.

Epcot- spaceship earth...I actually like the new version too.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS

Hope everyone has a good one whatever you are doing and who ever you are sharing it with! Probably wont be online for a few days as over with my parents so Ill catch up when I get back!

Stay safe and warm

Happy Kwanza.

Merry Christmas.

Happy Hannukah.

If you are like my family: Merry Christmakuh and Happy Festivus. :lmao:

Let's all hope for a happy and healthy 2009.

It was random. I was riding the carrousel with my friend, he was waiting to get on the carrousel with his buddies. He was in uniform (Army) and a VERY handsome soldier! Everytime I went passed him he winked. ;) He was actually very shy, but thought it "safe" since he would likely not see that "cute girl" again. After we got off we watched him and his friends ride, then "somehow" wound up in front of them on the Small World ride. My girlfriend started a conversation with him by asking him to wink for her. Both he and I were  They asked us to have a soda with them after the ride. We stayed at DL WAY later than we were supposed to :rolleyes1 . That was on Sept 9. We did not see each other again until Sept 18 because he had to go back to Ft Ord. I was 17 and still in high school. We got married Oct 6 and he left for VietNam on Oct 8. This was 1967. And they lived happily everafter although many at the time said it will never last. ;)
