Merry Christmas to all ( and to all a good night- it's late here!). I need to read the entire thread but wanted to say hello. We just moved an onboard booking to this sail date. Not sure if I'll actually go ( it's a long way to fly for someone with my disability and a service dog and lots of medical equipment) but I'm hoping I'll get up enough nerve to join several groups of friends already booked and to make some new friends too. :-)---Kathy

Oh I do hope you will be able to join us! It's a long way but the good news is that you would be in one place (on the ship) for two weeks!!!

DH has just received this bow tie for Christmas. Do you think he should wear it on the cruise :rotfl2:

Oh Ido hope you can figure out how to make it work. Hopefully having many friends aboard will help:thumbsup2

Oh goodness yes:rotfl2: I DARE him to!!!!

Hope everyone is enjoying Chrismas. I'm taking a rest and my various family members are doing the same after being up late last night and getting up early this morning. Christmas dinner has been served and cleaned up and we're just enjoying my grandson ( age 15 months) who is in such wonder of everything. Here's to family and friends- our best assets ever that can't be devalued during a recession!

I'm hoping I can go- being on the ship for 14 days would be such a treat and at least I wouldn't be dreading a long flight after we return as I live in Orlando. Anyone here fly to BCN the last time the ship did the Med? How was the flight? How bad was the jet lag?

That teacup Pom is the cutest puppy! I'm going to scroll through the posts to read them and enjoy the photos- thanks to all for posting and to starting the meet thread.

Kathy

Hey Kathy. Our family did the Eastbound TA last time, so we flew home from BCN (through Geneva and then into Boston--home for us is currently in New Hampshire--soon to be Germany:banana: ). Anyway, we were surprised by how easy the flight home was and how quickly we got over the jet lag (a day or two). The fact that transatlantic fligths still involve plenty of food service, movies, etc. really make a 6-8 flight from Europe easier to us than a 4-6 flight in the U.S.:) Of course, we have no medical issues nor service dog to know what the issues you may encounter would be.

Howdy Kathy, I am also Kathy, nice to meetcha:goodvibes
I sure hope you will be able to make the trip.
We live in Fruitland Park, next to Leesburg, so we are almost neighbors with you.;)
Although we are away for the winter this year in Oregon.
I am dreading the long flight, but 14 days on the ship makes it worth the hassle of along flight. Hopefully you can make it work for you and your dog.

Keep on posting and getting aquainted with everyone while your working on the details. Let us know when its final, either way:thumbsup2

Hope everyone had a great day.
I am so glad we didnt try to go to DD's house today. Right after we called her today it started snowing hard and kept it up for a few hours. Plus our truck was covered with ice today, so the roads would have been ciy too.

Next week is suppose to be just rain on New Years, so that will work out great for everyone.

catch everyone later, time to work a bit on dinner,

Kathy

:wave2: Everyone - its me - Laura I've been MIA and finally found you all! I hope everyone had a very MERRY CHRISTMAS AND BEST WISHES FOR A HAPPY NEW YEAR!

My DH and my in-laws are off tomorrow for Vegas where we will be ringing in the new year at the Orleans hotel. On Tuesday my girls will be joining us hopefully all safe and sound. I hope everyone else has plans and that whatever you plan on doing that it goes off without a plan.

Remember: if you want the following for the coming year here are some old wives' tales/traditions that you should follow:

1. If you wish to travel in the following year: Pack a suitcase and just at midnight walk around the block or the house so that you will be spend it outside the house as you wish.

2. If you wish to have extra money for the following year: stack your money and spend the NY counting it.

3. If you want good luck: wear yellow or red to ring in the new year - moms say underwear but I say what fun is that? ;) Only a few people get to know what you have underneath so make it fun - put it on the outside! ;)

That's about all I can remember right now but whatever you do - spend it wisely and with friends and family!

Till Later folks - God Bless and hopefully I'll have more time next year to chat!

 :grouphug: :lovestruc :grouphug:

Hey Crash!

Just popped in to say hi to everyone since I finally found you all! Had to stop by and say that Santa was really very nice to me - he brought me a new toy! (::yes:: - the new 50D) The sad part is that the lens it came with 18-200 mm is image stablized and I have to give that up to DD. Seems she's taking digital photography next semester and needs a camera so she is inheriting my 30D. I love that camera almost a bit more than the 40D but something has to give. I may borrow the lens for the Spring Break trip with the other DD (when we go to Spain and Italy and the Vatican again) It would supersede the 2 lenses I was planning on taking and allow more luggage space on my carryon!

Hopefully Santa was very nice to you too. ;) Take care! Be Safe!

KAthy, you do know this is the 2nd thread:scared1:
Kathy, the jet lag is an inconvienace but come on, it is NOT that bad we have went back and forward across the atlantic for the last 16 years, sometimes twice a year, As long as you are strict with yourself and go to bed for an hour or 2 nap then get up it is fine, ok, you are tired and you feel a bit rough, but only for a day,but I have even come home and went straight to work cause of flight delays.
And think of all they 25 hour days you have to make up on the way back!!
Kathy, You know I just want a dog to pet dont you??;)
Not really !!! but I am sure you will love it!

Crap - I'm guessing that would require having some money to at least count????

Good morning everyone,

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.
Pretty quiet around here today.

will check in with everyone soon,

Kathy

Hi everybody!

I hope everybody had a wonderful Christmas Day (if you celebrate it of course, if not, I hope you had a wonderful day). My soon-to-be DMIL, MagicMe made my DF and I this beautiful scrapebook of our first cruise together! It is amazing! I can't stop looking at it! I can't imagine how long it took her to make it! It's wonderful and I love looking back at all of the memories from the cruise.

I'm at work with a horrible headache. I just took some pain medicine so I'm hoping it helps just a bit. I'm here another 4.5 hours so if it doesn't work, I still have a LONG time to suffer before I can go home.

Hope all is well with everyone! :)

:lmao: I said the same thing and so I asked if Monopoly money counts??? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Hi everyone!
sorry haven't been on in awhile- so busy with homeschooling and the holidays ofcourse :)

Just wanted to drop in atleast for a moment and let Captain know we won't be doing the B2B anymore so I guess we won't be named on the first post anymore. :lmao: (hey, where's the list of those going on the TA only?)

We decided to cruise May 30th 2009 instead of that 10nt for a variety of reasons- #1 being that we can spend a week at WDW and a 7nt cruise and including ALL COSTS of that is still less than HALF the cost of the 10nt cruise only (not counting all the excursions/extra costs for that very port intensive cruise!) so it was kind of a nobrainer. Well I really wanted to go to those ports- but they aren't exactly the kid-friendliest (is that a word?) ports in the world... maybe when they are a bit older and can appreciate the finer things in life. LOL I made DH promise me he'd take me someday! This is probably for the best for a lot of reasons though- namely not sure if we can spend almost a MONTH in cat 10 rooms which is what we'd have been doing if we did the 10nt and then 14nt B2B... we might be losing our minds from 'cave syndrome" by the end of the TA. LOL (personally DH and myself have never cruise Disney without atleast a window.... so even the 14nt without even a window might be an "experience" for us...)

the only downside for switching the cruises is that now I have only 5mo to lose weight because I REFUSE to go on yet another cruise while my "fat self". LOL Seriously... I stiill have clothes with tags on them that I bought specifically for our first cruise- but then when the cruise got postponed and we ended up waiting 3yrs for that first cruise- I ended up gaining too much weight and couldn't fit in them anymore! And then I neglected to lose the weight again before the 2nd cruise. I'm not doing that again...... so I better skeedaddle over to the weightloss threads because I need to get in the right frame of mind to do it this time!

so anyway we'll be at WDW May 24th then on the May 30th 2009 cruise- so that means that THIS time we don't have to wait YEARS to go on another cruise! Less than a year in between last cruise and next....... and barely over a year from that cruise to the TA! Woohoo. :woohoo: This time we're driving and staying in our TT at Fort Wilderness- which is something else we've been wanting to do for awhile. I actually had reservations for Dec 2009 just to stay at FW on a WDW trip....
Oh and last, but not least, (in the list of reasons we switched) it means we get to do WDW before the 7nt cruise where as if we did the B2B we'd just be doing cruise and that's it. Our first cruise we did WDW then cruise, our 2nd cruise we did DL then cruise... I wasn't keen on the idea of going YEARS without being at WDW anyway so this will get our WDW fix in. We haven't been to WDW since 2006! :) Expedition Everest here we come...... hehe

Now I need to change my sig line and sig gif......
Hope everyone had a VERY Merry Christmas... and wishing everyone a Happy New Year! :)

Ugh why is my Tink and PDFG not showing once I put the new log on? Me no likey........

Ugh so I rearrange and now the bottom part of logo isn't showing. I'm so confused why it does this! :( You can't put little images and bigger logs BESIDE one another without some of it not showing and then when you try above one another that doesn't work either? :(

Ahh- I didn't know this was the second thread. Guess I'd better find the first one! Thanks to all for the welcome. I probably won't know til 2010 if I'm going for sure. Lots of factors at play but if I can, I will as the desire to go is definitely in my heart. Meanwhile I'd better start stacking money on NY- do quarters count? LOL.---Kathy

Kathy, yes quarters do count!!:woohoo:
We save ALL our change and one dollar bills and dont touch them no matter what. By cruise time we have a few hundred dollars saved.

So YES quarters do count;)
