I was really surprised about this as well. Normally staff rates for DCL turn up within a month of sailing, maybe 6 weeks in advance if you are extremely lucky. However, the staff rates for the Eastbound Transatlantic turned up just before Christmas.

Corinna

Yeah this definately didn't happen for the last one so I don't know what this means? Last time rates came up for the May cruise in Feb and then the September ones came out while we were on the May cruise I think

You mean the CM (disney staff) rates?? If so then WOW...that is VERY early.

She means the travel industry rates. If you work for a travel industry partner such as an airline there are sites that give you discounted rates on the Disney cruises

i just got back from my rccl cruise. a 12 night explorer of the seas. its only 2 years newer than the magic but it looks better. but the shows were terrible only 2 good shows out of 12 nights for their main shows. they had a very good ice scate show that wasnt part of the main show. some of the performers were in their 80 's. one guy said he will be 87 in march, he was a comedian. than they had very little entertainment at night time or day time that we were interested in. disney a lot of nights they have something in rockin bar D like a comedian or magician. out of 12 nights they had only one show like that in their club a comedian that wasnt very good in the main show so we didnt go. they had one guy who was very funny a guy with a duck in their main show but they didnt have him again. their desserts were not that good. disney desserts are a lot better.

Oh well guess that's the one thing Disney have down!

Howdy everyone,

Just thought I would drop by and catch up on reading the past few pages this afternoon.
Very cold here and snow is predicted for tomorrow. I really wish I was cruising right now:goodvibes
Sorry its boring here so nothing really for me to say.
I just wanted to drop by and see how your all doing.

I just bundled up another $25 one dollar bills and threw in the safe for spending money for this cruise. I collect all our ones. Not sure how many are in the safe, but whenever they reach $25. I throw them in. . By cruise time I should be loaded:lmao: :lmao:
well at least enough for some souvenirs and excusrsons:upsidedow
I also save all the coins. I have rolled $6.50 which I will turn in for cash when I reach $25.00.

Anybody else have something they do for saving for the cruise?
For me it helps to pass the time :thumbsup2

We do use a credit card that offers cash back too. I hope to have around $300.00 cash back by cruise time too;)

Have a great weekend everyone,

Kathy

Thats a really good idea. At the moment we just throw all our copper coins into a pot but that takes ages to add up. I should start thinking about saving something with a bigger value such as 50p and 20p coins.

That is a great idea, we used to save our change but it was a bit of a chore to bag it now we swap the and put the 1 coins in a terramdi pot, I got it for Lens xmas, it is lovey, they paint it for you, I got a stars and stripe and the writing syas
"Disney cruise fund 2010"
It is so smart, when full it has 440 pounds, but you have to burst it to get the cash, I think this is the critical point;)

OK so we're not doing anything that will get us anywhere near this amount but we do have a change jar where we are putting any change we have. So far its registered (its electronic) £9.16 which isn't going to get us far but hey its only been a month!

That IS a great idea but since DH and I rarely carry cash with us anymore, we never have any change at all. :confused3 LOL We rely on our debit cards for everything from groceries to gas to dry cleaning, etc.

What we've done for past vacations is we use our bank's online banking site and transfer $$ each week over to a special Vacations savings account. We don't miss the few dollars each week, but it really adds up in the end. I guess it's basically the same thing that you do, but our dollars are virtual whereas yours are paper. :)

ok folks... I just had to change my ticker!
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Ann:wave2:

Looks great! LOL :thumbsup2

I was just playing around on the mickeypath web site and created a rotating banner. I really had wanted to incorporate Stephanie's logo and also Todd's logo...so look below to see what I've come up with! :) Thanks again to Stephanie for the web site and logo, and to Todd for creating the cool Pirates logo! pirate: I've always wanted to be able to put that pirate logo in my signature!

My bank offers a 'keep the change' savings account. Whenever you use your debit card, it rounds up the amount to the nearest whole dollar, and puts that amount into your savings account. :thumbsup2 Instant savings AND it makes it easier to balance your 'checkbook' when dealing with whole dollar amounts. I think I had to open the account with $25 bucks and it's growing like gangbusters. (Bank of America, btw)

....I have discovered that the small OR medium Blizzard 'costs' me the same amount of money ($4)...so I've ordered the medium more often than I should :sad2: THAT doesn't help the savings account OR the waistline! :lmao:

.

We have our vacation fund where all our change goes (we have almost $180 in there since we started saving in Sept). During the school year DS uses singles to pay for lunch but during the summer we save all of our. Also, I save all the money we get back when I turn in our cans and bottles - those nickles can really add up fast!

Wohow! I wish they did this over here! This would make it not only easy to save but I would find it so much easy to keep track of charges!
