I think they started that last year right before our trip in May. I don't remember how much extra those seats are, but we didn't choose them then, and I probably wouldn't choose to pay extra for a little more space now, either. I guess if you have really long legs it might be worth it.

Thank you - I won't pick the extra leg room. It didn't seem bad at first, but when you had on 2 more people plus the return - it is an extra $120.00! I would rather eat out with that money in Boston!

These forums are great, DW has been speaking to my deaf ear for a few years now, something about vow renewals and crystal cathedral, then vow renewals and a ship, now I know vow renewal cancelled and we are doing extra cruise instead

Thanks for your input. We have pretty much made up our minds to do this. The question is just how and when we book this. We have a number of options: staff rates through a travel industry travel club, through DVC using points for one person and cash for the second or through DCL direct.

Corinna

Last time the travel industry rates only came out a month before each of them

They rides are crazy on the top of the hotel??!!
That is on my to do list, along with going to see Barry.
I am laughing because they have a european(topless) pool, it is 10 bucks for guys to get in but free for females!!!! shocking.:p

Its even more expensive for the topless pools as you move further south down the strip , I think Mandalay Bay is 30 Male free to female ...LOL unless of course you get on the vip list

Hey, American friends???
What are jet Blue like??
They are pretty cheap I know that much!

We love jetBlue. Since we found them, we haven't used any other airline.

Should I pay extra for the "extra" room seats? I was confused and thought you would be the best person to ask!

jetBlue's normal seating is pretty good if you're a "normal" sized person. My DH is 6'4" and so we do end up getting the roomier seating 'cause I hate seeing him sitting w/his knees tucked up under his chin :lmao: .

Yes we booked with them, shame we cant go with them from LV to san fran, have to go with swa i think for that leg! I think if I was 64 I would pay the extra! I was just pleased we could pick our seats, it was great cause we usually end up over the wing and cant see anything, but this time we have got seats we can see stuff.

I was really surprised about this as well. Normally staff rates for DCL turn up within a month of sailing, maybe 6 weeks in advance if you are extremely lucky. However, the staff rates for the Eastbound Transatlantic turned up just before Christmas.

You mean the CM (disney staff) rates?? If so then WOW...that is VERY early.

i just got back from my rccl cruise. a 12 night explorer of the seas. its only 2 years newer than the magic but it looks better. but the shows were terrible only 2 good shows out of 12 nights for their main shows. they had a very good ice scate show that wasnt part of the main show. some of the performers were in their 80 's. one guy said he will be 87 in march, he was a comedian. than they had very little entertainment at night time or day time that we were interested in. disney a lot of nights they have something in rockin bar D like a comedian or magician. out of 12 nights they had only one show like that in their club a comedian that wasnt very good in the main show so we didnt go. they had one guy who was very funny a guy with a duck in their main show but they didnt have him again. their desserts were not that good. disney desserts are a lot better.

dolphingirl47 - I was cracking up reading the posts. You should put the "Honey Do" list on the boards. It was very cute!

I cannot believe they posted the rates already. Maybe they are not expecting a big turnout for April. I have a few friends booked in April, but haven't talked much about rates or if they dropped at all for the passengers like they did in '07.

Thanks for the advice on JetBlue. I didn't book the larger seats - we are only 5'9" in this family - they were very easy to book online and I talked to a lady after that on the phone and she was very nice. I just have to pray they don't go bankrupt! I am getting ready for my lobster roll!!

Karen: How do you know what time your flight will be leaving? Or are you guessing it will be at night? Or, is that how all of the overseas flights work, they leave at night so you fly all night?? That would be good, at least I'd try and sleep on the plane. LOL

Most flights to Europe leave late afternoon or night our time so we arrive in the morning. I have a friend who works for United and she does these flights.
