Well, a free upgrade would be nice- but I won't plan on it so I'm not disappointed.

Really the main reason I'm uneasy about the GTY is if we hit rough seas & I'm not midship. I have rarely gotten sick on cruises, although I've always been midship. The one time I wasn't midship I got sick on the first night due to rough seas- I couldn't even go to dinner.

Since we are so far out, I think I'm gonna save some extra money & hopefully pay at the pier for an upgrade to anything midship.

Don't worry too much about it. I was GTY for the EB cruise and ended up mid ship so there is still a chance. If not invest in some travel sickness bands! They really do work! On the EB TA in 07 (can't say last year any more lol) me and my sister wore them! The waves were really bad for a few days and we were fine with it. Also just keep drinking ginger ale too as this settles your stomach - Moscow Mules also work (ginger ale and vodka lol). Oh and remember the medical bay gives you free sickness tablets!

:wave2: Guys!

Finally back. We spent the NY in Vegas and spent some wonderful family time with the in-laws. Its was precious time for DH. It looks like FIL will be making it to his birthday on 1/10. So this time was very special to us. Also, came back with a bit of $$ so I'm happy. DH will be starting his poker tournaments at the Commerce Casino later this month. Looks like I'll be a poker widow for the next 2 months. :cutie:

Anyway, thought I'd post a few pictures of what we did a bit later. I have to download them into photobucket. For some reason, I could not access the internet on either Sprint or AT&T card at the Orleans. So I am just catching up. Stay tuned.

I'm back! :rolleyes1

OK - here's a big clue:

And here's my main reason for going:

Darn bugger would not stay still long enough for me to take a clear picture of him. All these pictures were taken without flash. I was afraid to flash in their eyes. However, I did get some decent shots of some.

ok - here's a few more:

Here's a picture of him with Kym Johnson and another dancer:

They were doing a skit on flight attendants and pilots

Here's another skit being done by Marilyn Monroe AKA Marlee Matlin:

and here was the closest I got to Cheryl:

P.S. - I did flash her on this one. I couldn't help myself. Everyone else was doing it and I had waited the whole time so I finally took the plunge and flashed her. Bad Laura! ;) BTW, she is not FAT - she is a skinny healthy. THe others are just plain anorexic. :cool2:

Some more:

Here's Maurice Greene:

and Lance Bass:

here's Lacey and Lance again:

here's Fabian and Mark Ballas:

OK - last one couldn't help myself: Here's one of the finale:

Kym Johnson and partner:

and here Toni Braxton who apparently has had her heart mended:

Hi everyone. We just booked today & I just happened upon this board, so I thought I would say Hi. :wave2:

:welcome: on board.

Well after all the flip flopping drama, seems I have to drop from this cruise. My BIL is having a big wedding thing that is going to cost us a bundle, so no cruise can be planned right now. Have a great time everyone@!

I am so sorry to hear that you are probably not going to make the cruise. Maybe the prices will come down nearer the time as they did on the last transatlantic cruises and you can come after all.

Well, Amy came home around noon (EST) today and everything went well. Unfortunately she is still in a lot of pain but I'm sure that will lessen over the next couple of days. She's had the surgery before so she knew what to expect. I'm sure she'll be posting over the next couple of days as she recuperates. She's always so busy so I'm sure she's going to go crazy over the next two weeks having trouble getting around!! (There goes the ecomony - :scared1: - no shopping from Amy!!!!).

Seriously though, I told her that I had posted an update and that everyone passed along their well wishes. She truly appreciates everyone's thoughts. I know it will brighten her day to read your postings as she recovers!

Thanks everyone!

I am glad to hear that Amy is OK. I hope that the pain will get better very soon.

Woohoo, welcome, Lisa. We are also Mets fans from Flushing (well, I am from Flushing; DH is from Greenpoint). So glad to have you on board.

Thank you. It's always nice to hear from fellow met fans! :goodvibes Hopefully the Mets will give us something to smile about when we're getting off the ship...maybe playoff talks that include them. :thumbsup2

Lisa- welcome aboard! I'm "new" too to this thread as we just transferred an existing onboard booking to this date recently. I went on the first Panama cruise and worried that 14 nights was too long. Nope- it was too short. If I could afford the BTB both financially and with time off work I'd do both, but alas, I have to "settle" for just one. ---Kathy

Thank you. I'm sure after sailing 14 days I'm not going to want to go for anything less- too bad for my wallet.

Welcome! :cheer2: Nice to have you on board.

Thank you. :goodvibes

Sounds good. I mean in the end I will be on the Magic for 2 weeks- I guess I can "suffer" through. I may be over medicated, but that's half the fun.

Hiya. Welcome aboard. I'm sure you are going to love it!

I think so too. Thank you. :goodvibes

:welcome: on board.

Corinna

Thank you.

Hopefully there's not gonna be a roll call test- 'cause as of right now I'm failing. :lmao:

Hopefully I can remember all of you- I do have a little less than 2 years.

Hi everyone. We just booked today & I just happened upon this board, so I thought I would say Hi. :wave2:

HI to you Lisa and welcome aboard! This will be our 2nd cruise and we are so looking forward to spending 14 days on the Magic - 7 days was far too short!
Just seems too far away at the moment!

Back from Disney World! The crowds were overwhelming, but I know how to do the parks, and we waited no longer than maybe 40 minutes, more like 30 for any ride, most were done with fast passes or at the right time, even Dumbo, and the waits were nothing! We went to Blizzard Beach twice and to the beach on Sunday, so we got to see the Wonder sail away at Jetty park. Very cool! We spent Christmas day in the hotel, a posh Marriott that we LOVED, just swimming, putt-putt golfing and snacking.

So I am tanned and satisfied back in Illinois, waiting for the next snow storm on Tuesday.

Disneycruisin', I met Michael at the vacation club. Nice guy! He'll be on our cruise, too! Yay!

Hi!!!!!! He said he met you, and that you were on the WBTA with us in Aug 07!!!! Your trip sounded great, I'm jealous.

The ponies and tiny puppies are soooooo cute!!!

Hadley, hang in there with the packing and preparing for the move. It's going to be so exciting once you're on your way.

Amy, hope you have a speedy and relaxing recovery.

Welcome to the new crew members.

Now back to catching up.

Thank you. Yes, I have to agree 7 days on the magic was not enough for me either.

Woohoo, welcome, Lisa. We are also Mets fans from Flushing (well, I am from Flushing; DH is from Greenpoint). So glad to have you on board.

See above. More former NYers and Mets fans here. IASWAA :rotfl: !

Where in Flushing? I grew up on Parsons Blvd near Roosevelt Ave. Its been a looong time since I was back, how are things there?
