Hello, everyone!

Hope everyone is having a happy, healthy new year so far.

Today, my most dear husband turns the Big 4-0. We celebrated with a jumbo-sized bag of Pay Days and trips to the grocery store and vet. What a big day for him! (Seriously, he does get a 2-week cruise in October! It's not all bad.)

I have a question: like many of you, I booked on the first day the TA cruise became available, 10/14. I am going on the Wonder though in April for a quick fix. What are the chances that they'd let me act like I booked the TA onboard the Wonder to get an OBC for the TA? It doesn't look like the prices have gone up. Anyone have experience with this?
Thanks. If the reservation number changes, I am SOL. I think that counts as a cancellation, and suites can't cancel. Although, I could probably move my current TA to a new sailing, and then rebook the TA. But that sounds like too much thinking for me right now. But thanks for the help!

I believe this is the case. You basically have to cancel one and rebook so if you have a suite then I would say you probably aren't going to be able to do the switch over. It's always worth asking though just in case

So, I have to be at the hospital at 6am tomorrow morning! We are having an ice storm tonight so I'm hoping it's not too bad. The car we are taking is in the garage so all we need to do is pull it out in the morning. I'm getting really nervous...I'm anxious for it to be over.

Good luck today! It will go fine I'm sure!

Hey all I haven't had the chance to check in here much the past month...Life got crazy busy right around Thanksgiving and it has finally settled down some. I hope everyone is enjoying the New Year:cool1: :cool1: It is exciting to think that next year we will all be on the cruise together. I can't wait to start catching back up with all of you:goodvibes

Welcome back. Glad things are finally settling down!

And I guess Disney wins usually too LOL

You'd find it so cheap here - $NZ1 is currently 40 pence ($NZ1=$US58) and mostly items sell for the same face value, so things would be less than half price for you... Sigh, that is why we don't go to the UK, even the US is expensive for us a the moment.

In the middle of last year $NZ1 was $US0.80 so it wasn't near as painful as it is now travelling overseas. Still I can't whinge too much, at least I can afford to go overseas ...

WOHOW! I like that exchange rate! They'll have to build a Disney down that side of the world then everyone will be flocking there

Thankyou,
I will take every inch we can get.:goodvibes
We may try to get a seat by the emergency exit if we can. They typically have even more room. my husband has long legs and planes really are uncomfortable for him.
I'm sure 1st class would be way out of my price range, so its good to know they have a bit more room,

thanks again,
Kathy
Some have, some dont, word of warning, dad had a exit seat, it was naff, because of the door, he was really squashed even though he had more leg room, mind though, folk walk about more on ta flights, you can get up for the loo, I usually wait till there is a line so then you can move about a bit, it will be fine, dont worry.
On the leg-room questions for transoceanic flights, it's not always the case that you have more leg room on these airplanes. Sometimes, yes...but it can vary widely by airline, fleet within an airline, and where exactly your seat assignment is on the plane itself.

A decent reference is www.seatguru.com, although not always 100% accurate.
I second that.

Happy birthday to him,
:rotfl2: You are right!

In the States, we're in a period of college football (the brown oval balls, not the round black and white ones :) ) Bowl Games. These are post-season games, with one of them being a National Championship title game. (Unfortunately this year we were not in the National Championship game though.)

Well, our Ohio State University Buckeyes were unfavored to win, yet they pulled themselves ahead of our opponent with 2 minutes left in the game. Then with 16 seconds left in the game, we lost. :sad1:

So like you said, "buck it up, Kimberly", because it's only a game. :upsidedow

Okay...so now you got more than you ever wanted to read, I'm sucking it up and keeping quiet!

:cake: Happy Birthday to the big man!
Now I know, thanks, I thought as much.

Nice to see you back!
Thank you for the extra PD! I just said to my mom that I'm getting nervous. I mean, I have to be at the hospital in less than 8 hours - it just doesn't seem possible. At least it will be over with quickly!!

I'll let everyone know how it goes. :)

Good luck, I am sure you dont need it though, to be honest when I had my op a few years ago, everybody was freaking me out with saying good luck!:flower3:

FYI - I just checked (via text) with my son (DBK1029 and TheDisneyGirl02's DF) on Amy and how it (her ACL reconstruction) went. He is a man of few words and simply stated "She is in recovery. All is fine".

Hopefully I will be able to get more information a little later.

That's exactly why so many older people from the UK are selling their average homes in the UK and retiring here to be millionaires. I'm not kidding, I've heard of loads of people doing it.

Hi everyone. We just booked today & I just happened upon this board, so I thought I would say Hi. :wave2:

Yes, I have a lot of reading to do to catch up! Wow, you are a talkative bunch!

I would put the banner in my signature but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to have my tickers side-by-side & not on top of each other. So as of right now I can't fit it. :guilty:

Anyone know how to make the tickers post side-by-side (one after the other) so I don't have to walk the plank? :confused3

I'm Lisa. It's nice to meet you.

By the time of the cruise this will be my 4th DCL cruise, my 7th cruise all together. This will be a new experience for me in that I have also never done a TA & I have a GTY room- which I'm a little uneasy about, but I'm a control freak, so that explains that.

In your signature line put the codes right next to each other with no spaces ... I think that will work , otherwise to put in the cruise logo banner you might have to remove one ticker , but I am almost sure you can do your tickers side by side

Good Luck

Hi Lisa to know your name.
I tend to loose track but I think if we dont cruise again until this cruise, it should be our 18th or 19th DCL cruise. I often forget to add them to my signature so I have to go back and look them up.
Knowing us we will probably get at least one more cruise in before this one.
We also booked a guarantee room. I dont mind doing that but I hate not knowing my room number until the cruise is almost here.

We usually get a free upgrade when we do a guarantee room, so that may be a nice perk. As long as I'm on the Magic I will be happy with what ever room we get:goodvibes We are never in the room accept to clean up and sleep anyway.

Well, a free upgrade would be nice- but I won't plan on it so I'm not disappointed.

Really the main reason I'm uneasy about the GTY is if we hit rough seas & I'm not midship. I have rarely gotten sick on cruises, although I've always been midship. The one time I wasn't midship I got sick on the first night due to rough seas- I couldn't even go to dinner.

Since we are so far out, I think I'm gonna save some extra money & hopefully pay at the pier for an upgrade to anything midship.

Attention Attention !!!!
