WELCOME to our new cruisers! I love to see our 'family' grow. :thumbsup2

Erik, I haven't signed up for laynards yet, as I don't know who my cabin mate will be! :lmao: I booked a cabin for two (since it was 50% deposit) and am waiting to see if big sister enjoys cruising. She'll experience her first cruise in September when we do the family cruise to Tortola. I don't really expect she will brave a trans-Atlantic even if she enjoys the Caribbean, so I have ex-sister-in-law waiting in the wings, and a collection of DIS pals who, I'm sure, would be willing to come along!

We are at Valley of the Rogue State Park in southern OR tonight. We should be at DL by Dec 14! :cool1:  I think we will get to do 6 days there! :yay: Family and friends to see along the way. Just got an email from friend we are seeing tomorrow and Sunday. They are excited, setting up the drums, gettig out the guitars and want to jam with DrHug. :woohoo:

So Angie, what direction are you heading AFTER that? Any chance Arizona, the Grand Canyon, Flagstaff, Sedona, Phoenix are on route? Peg and I would LOVE to see you kids, and I know Cheri would too. We'd be glad to make the drive to visit with you anwhere in the state! :thumbsup2

Yes, definately have to drive thru AZ to get to FL from CA. :thumbsup2 We hae not decided if we will take the southern route thru Yuma or come thru Phoenix. Too cold for Grand Canyon this time of year isn't it?? We are thinking Tuscon and Tombstone. We will keep you posted as we would LOVE to see all three of you!:grouphug:

Welcome, Kimber and Linda. I think this is going to be a cruise of a lifetime w/a great bunch of shipmates! (Kimber, your little one is adorable!)

Thanks, everyone, for the pics of your furbabies. I just love seeing them 'cause I know how special each one of them must be. They do find themselves a special place in our hearts, don't they?

We got our Georgie from the local pound (she was a day away from "the needle"), and she is the best girl. Her only problem is that she is very (VERY) food driven and that does get her into trouble every now and then. I guess we're lucky she's short and can't reach the kitchen counters (we do have to watch that the chairs are tucked in because she will climb on them to find food).

My favorite character? I have so many. When I was a kid, I loved Bambi (yes, still love deer; we have them out back, and I don't care if they eat stuff, they're so beautiful, and, hey, they're just trying to earn a deerish living :lmao: ). Now, Tarzan is more my taste ;) . I love Lilo and Stitch (and, actually, just about all the characters in that movie), WALL*E, Edna Mode dahling, Dory, and many others.

Hello, All! Night before last, ON the MAGIC, we signed up for this trip! I'm freaking about flying, but excited about the cruise!

Welcome!!!!

I'm freaked out about the flight too! I don't like the 2 hour flight to FL from PA! But, I'm very excited for the cruise!!! Maybe we can start a transatlantic flight support group on here! :)

We're on the map now, very close to MickeyAddict. :cool1:

I haven't posted on here for ages (have just been so busy) but since it's the weekend, I've managed to catch up a little.

My favourite character is Tinker Bell (no surprises there, eh?) and DD's is Ariel - at the moment. princess: DH has no preference, but he's most like Grumpy.

I hope that you have a Scottish accent - I love the Scottish accent and could listen to that all day! Where in Scotland are you from?

I'm afraid that our Scottish accent may have many folks stumped. We're from Aberdeenshire where the local dialect is very broad and sounds really fast! :upsidedow

These are our lazy doggies...the one on top is Buddie and Cinder is on the bottom:

Too cute! They look exhausted like they'd just ran a marathon. :rotfl: I've loved seeing pics of everyone's pets - they are all so adorable. :cutie:

You are braver then me - below 75 - jeans!

75° is summer weather to us! The first winter trip we took to WDW, we got strange looks from lots of strangers because we were in shorts and vest tops. Locals were out in force in their long coats and scarves! :rotfl2:

I promise to try to be a better pirate and keep up with this thread. :flower3: pirate:

Mostly, but also a bit nervous (to be expected). I think they will feel much better about it after our visit next week. Neither one of them has ever even been to Germany so it is a little hard for them to wrap their heads around it. They (and I) were really nervous about trying to jump into a German school right away speaking virtually no German, but it is sounding like (knock on wood--this is my single biggest worry about the entire thing right now) the company will pay for an international school:yay: (they are "looking into it" now). That will be such a good place for them and much much less stressful for them (homeschooling is not legal in Germany so we cannot just keeping going with what we have been doing:confused3 ).
Rio is bummerd to move before his dance recital (I am sure you can understand that:rolleyes1 ) but his teacher is going to throw a party for him and make sure he gets his five year award before we leave (this is BIG for him because he was miffed that he hasn't gotten one yet having danced for 7 years but because he had to changed studios when we moved here from Michigan--he would have received it at the dance recital this spring). Anyway, our friend who lives there has assured him there are plenty of dance classes in Heidleberg too so he is feeling better about it all:upsidedow
Marika was supposed to test for her black belt in early March. Her insturctor is awesome and working with her privately to get her enough ahead to test for it two months early so she can get it before we leave. That is great of him, and I am so proud of her:) She will probably keep up with martial arts in Germany also, but it will be good for her to know she got all the way to black belt here because anywhere she starts will be somewhat different and take some new learning:thumbsup2

Hadley, give the kids hugs from me! I'm sure they are nervous, but it's a very exciting adventure they are about to go on!!!

I can understand why Rio would want his five year award...I just had my 25 year award in June! LOL!!!! I'm sure he'll find a great studio to go to in Germany! :thumbsup2

I'm also glad to hear that Marika will get to earn her black belt before leaving. I'm sure that's very important to her, just as dancing is to Rio!

How are you handling everything?

OK, I guess we need to add another support group ;) . In addition to the "Not Crazy for Pirates," "Teeth Grinders," and "Pet Lovers," we've now got the "I'm Not Crazy for Flying" group (of which, I have to sadly admit, I'm also a member).

Yeah i think so too.. Im also a member. As much as I travel and fly. I still hate flying. When I was little it didnt bother me I couldnt wait but now as I keep getting older I hate it more and more each time. And I love how they say you've reached you final destination. Its like hello dont say that.

Hi, neighbor! We should get together sometime....

Marilyn

Sounds great! We could have a nano-micro-mini-meet :lmao: . Maybe after the holidays? BTW, do you know PNO4TE (she lives in F'burg)?

Are any of you messing with me?? because if you are its not funny(well maybe just a bit:rotfl: )

Any ideas?
Can I move me back?

Ah, tink too, it was YOU :lmao:
Me thinks?? ;)
Inspector morse I am not, but someone has edited yours as well with the same user name.

I'm so glad PJ made the suggestion for the Google Map! It was my pleasure to get it started. I agree with the comment someone made that it's so awesome to see how spread out we are, yet we're all together here!

In terms of using the map, I just wanted to mention a point of caution. :tiptoe: If you are in EDIT mode, it's very easy to grab onto an existing Pinpoint and move it if it's yours or not.

Out of curiosity of who's where, I've noticed a couple of "oopsies". For example, Erik & Jason's Pinpoint is in Canada right now (and without an icon...I found that by clicking on Tig82714 in the list on the left; although, I see Erik made his own oopsy on this one). I also would have sworn that yesterday I saw Alex's (alexturner74) from Atlanta pinpointed in Florida. Due to the description comment, I'm not sure if DH Chrisva intended to be in the middle of nowhere or not. ;)

So please understand that we all have the power to easily and unintentionally change the map. If you're done with your addition, I suggest you go back to where the "Edit" button was and click "DONE" so you mitigate the risk. Just use care with your mouse pointer so you don't move another's point, and if you see your mouse got excited and moved someone, let that person know so THEY can make it right. You never know if at a micro level they may have their pinpoint at a special iconic location in their city (like mine is on the Muirfield Golf Course in my city, which is home to the PGA Memorial Tournament). Of course....if you want to send me to Bora Bora, then I might not mind! :rotfl:

Hope everyone has a great Saturday...no doubt many will be working on holiday-related activities. To the newbies, I'm thrilled for you that you are booked and found us!

PS: :rotfl2: Orlandothebeagle posted a comment about this very same thing as I was writing this!
