Sept 18 2010 WB TransAtlantic Pirates/Capt Jacks Re-Repoing Repossession Cruise Pt.10

Same here, no kids, no job. :dance3::woohoo:

I was going to say, same here, but here I am DISing while DGD2 naps :rotfl: .

If you head this way, feel free to let me know and you can stay a few days or just pick my brains for stuff to do ... same goes for any Dis'ers :)

Wow, would I love to visit NZ. And Montana. And Cali. And Hawaii. And all the Disney parks. Now if only we had the $$$ to go everywhere we want :upsidedow .

There area few of us from here on the PC. Not sure if we met, but I will look out for you. I think if you want a lanyard you have to order one today, but they are doing wristbands too which I don't think the time is up for ordering. If not, wear your TA yellow one and I will sure notice that one/:thumbsup2

We are looking forward to the cruise. Crumbs, only 77 days?:scared1: We did it in 2008 and loved it.

I hope you all doing the Panama repo have a fabulous time. I tried to talk DH into going, but not enough $. Guess we'll just have to have pizza tonight and pretend we're in Italy :lmao: .

In reading all the posts here, I am glad to see I am not the only one suffering from WBTA cruise withdrawal. I love the pics that have been posted.

It is a rainy day here and I just want to be back on the Magic. I feel like I have a case of SAD myself today. Still have a few things to organize myself so those of you out there who are not done organizing, I am in the club as well.

I posted a link on FB to John's video of his first ride down Pelican Plunge that I thought I would share to brighten the day.

I'm going to WDW !!!!!!!

Okay for those of you on the PC cruise just pass over this post as I posted it there already. I'm soooo excited I had to post twice!

I am taking my DS (31) to WDW. He has never been and he is about to have a major change in his life so this might be the last Mother/Son expedition, at least for a long time. His girlfriend is expecting the first of May. We are all excited for them but......his life will change. He has been single and free to do as he pleased for a long time. I have her blessing in taking him with me.

As some of you know, my planning starts late. Both for the WBTA and the PC cruise 80 days out I booked. Now for WDW....well, made the decision this morning to go Monday, so I'm flying to Phoenix on Sunday then my son and I will fly to Orlando Monday and return Friday. I am really looking forward to it, he is a fun person to have a playdate with.

I love seeing all the pictures from the cruise. I have organized mine (over 8000 between my friend and me) and will start making a digital scrapbook soon. I'm going to an advanced digital scrapbook workshop in San Jose in two weeks so hope to get most of it done then. Gotta get better with Photoshop.

Sorry for the rambling, just so excited.

Judy, you are going to have such fun! I know you will have photos, lol. Can't wait to see them.

Good luck on the Digital scrapbook workshop, would love to know if you learning any cool techniques.

Have a wonderful time!!! :dance3::grouphug:

We would love to visit the Northwest US on one of our hoped for road-trips in the future .... I believe it is incredibly beautiful with stunning scenery.

Don't forget Sothern Ontario:thumbsup2

I am so sorry that I did not manage to meet up with you at the Magic Kingdom on the Saturday. We had a nightmare with the DCL transport this time round. I kept my eyes open for the two of you, but unfortunately never bumped into you.

What cruise did you end up booking?

Sounds like you were not the only one to experience problems after leaving the ship. The resort check in was a mess and that delayed us. We kept our eyes open. Did see you one day as we were coming out of the Pirates ride but we were to far back to catch up. Candida and I really had a hard time in WDW this year. It felt like the magic of Disney stayed on the Magic. We did manage to bump into Jason one day. That helped turn the feelings around. We came to the conclusion that the big thing was on the ship it is very personalized and friendly. But in the parks the friendliness isn't because the recognize you it's because they are supposed to be happy.

We booked for Dec 2011 but that will be changing to something in 2012. Just not sure.

yeah i plan on travelling to the US via westbound cruise spending 2-3 months doing a round trip around the US then off to canada then off to japan .. then hopefully to either new zealand or australia or maybe south america not decided yet then back home in all i am hoping to be away for about six months

We have a room and time to be tour guides if you make it to Southern Ontario.

Now for some post cruise disappointment:
I meant to order a stateroom gift for Candida before we left Canada, but forgot. So, I had my dad order it for me. When we got into the stateroom the gift was there (well 50% of it). Thinking I misread what was included in the gift or that my dad ordered the wrong thing, and just because we had other things to do, I never went to guest services about it. When we got home I confirmed that 50% of the gift was missing. So, I tried to call DCL. They said that since we had completed the cruise I had to go through the guest services via email. Off goes the email explaining the not all the gift was in the stateroom. Now I am not looking for anything over and above what is missing, it is small enough to put in a standard sized envelope and mail it.

This is the reply we get: "I have spoken with our amenities team and they advised that the pendant is attached to the Winnie the Pooh pillow. They also pulled the amenity card that you signed onboard confirming that you received all of the purchased items. However, as a goodwill gesture, I would be happy to send you a $20 shipboard credit voucher that may be used on your next Disney Cruise Line vacation. This voucher will arrive via postal mail in10-14 business days."

Well, two things are wrong. The pendant never was there and the pillow has been checked over several times. It wasn't even taken out of the packaging until we got home. Second, we never signed anything. I replied that we have pictures of our stateroom and the pillow from the time we walked into the door. Nowhere can you see the pendant and that we never did sign for it.

They replied with scan of the signature card. And, surprise surprise it wasn't either of our signatures. The tone of the this email from them came across to me as "We are giving you a OBC in the value of 50% of the gift price so what is the problem." Well now my problem is that someone is forging signatures and the only way someone get any rectification is to take another cruise just to get a $20 OBC.

We'll have to see what they say now. Still waiting for the next reply from them. They did give us a phone number to call direct but there was no answer.

Sorry for the long email, just ranting.

So sorry to hear about your gift going astray and how strange that they have forged your signature for the receipt of it .... very annoying and very frustrating. Hope they sort this out for you soon :mad:

We had the same feeling at WDW and we too decided that it was just that DCL was so much better.

We have Dec 2011 booked as well and will change that to 2012 - waiting for the Magic schedule to come out.

I am very disappointed in the response regarding the item AND the forged signature . Pursue it. Take it higher.

Jon

hi jon and candida

Yeah I agree there was something seriously lacking at disney world this year. I have not been there until 2008 I wonder if it was that we had such a great time on the ship but i am not sure

1. I was there when Jon and Candida where booking in infact i was there 2 hours before them .. i just came out when they arrived.. it was chaos. It took so long as my travel agent (not disney) had not told them I had paid for quick service dinning plan to be fair to disney they fixed it!

2. Trying to get my luggage into storage took over half an hour and I was ignored by several cast members until i complained that i had been waiting for half an hour

3. Just the atmosphere in the park people pushing in, cast members not organising character lines. At the halloween party someone pushed in and the cast member did nothing about it. In Hollywood studios someone pushed in the cast member was at the back of the line doing pin trading when I complained to her she just said she was too busy to manage the lines. I went to guest services and they said they were sorry and said they would talk to her and gave me a fast pass.

4. They now do not have anyone at the information board in magic kingdom after 8:00 pm.

its like they have really cut back on the cast members

I was thinking the other day i almost wished I had not gone to Disney world this year.

mind you I had some great experiences with Mini and the characters .. it was great when Epcots Alladin recognised me from 2 years ago.

I enjoyed it but yeah there was something "off" this year.

Jon it was great meeting with you and Candida

I would love to meet up "if" I come over and am able to travel .... certainly candad is on my list to visit

i likewise enjoyed our day together (carosell of progress was great i was so wrong to think it would be boring) and was sorry we could not meet up I hope candida got my email response. I usually do it alone but i really enjoyed going on the rides with you both - getting wet on Khali river rapids and getting a mulligan LOL we were sooo wet !! and buzz lightyear I love that Candida beat your score LOL

There were some very nice cast members in Disney world .. but some were just poor .. especially some of the younger ones.. on the ship there was NOT ONE BAD CAST MEMBER that i met they were all great.

i guess thats the personal touch

i am sorry Jon that the gift went wrong

jason

Since our first cruise in 2005, we have never been back to the parks. We just keep going back on DCL. With the prices of the parks the way they are, on a per night basis, the ship is a better deal, too.

We booked for Dec 2011 but that will be changing to something in 2012. Just not sure.

The rant is well deserved. I hope they fix this for you. Your stateroom host is the one who is supposed to get your signature for the stateroom gift.
