Well, personally, I can do all of that cause I don't have any children at home (mine are grown and don't seem to need me). I don't have to worry about back to school, homework, sports schedules, etc. Been there - done that. So, I can take time to be on here and to sort photos.

It is just hubby and I since the kids are all gone with their own families. Since I am still unemployed, I have all the time I need. I just need to get over this Vertigo. Been doing laundry in stages since I don't need the shorts and t-shirts. I have been working on my trip report in stages.

My DMIL gets vertigo, I hope your over it soon.
I love my kids dearly (most of the time) but It would be nice to be just hubby and I sometimes......

I know what you mean ... getting back to college schedules, University schedules... 2 kids who haven't an ounce of common sense or organisational skills between them, financial hassles and household paperwork / online stuff, organising a trip to London for Halloween weekend which I could well do without for the hassle it's causing trying to organise the kids and their friends, not to mention work, shopping, housework etc etc etc = STRESS !!!
I can't even think about booking another vacation to focus on because of Taryn and the college programme and on top of that we have the winter approaching, the dark nights and my Seasonal Affective Disorder which makes me a bundle of laughs to live with ... NOT. Can I scream now please

OK, I'll stop whinging, sound like you have a lot of pressure right now, your schedule is pretty hectic, sounds like you need a cruise, LOL! WBTA next year?

Yep, Lock it in Noel, we are going and bringing as many Aussies as we can, next door neighbours and some good friends already looking into it. It may be the invasion of the Aussies cruise, LOL

I picked the room 8500, it's a handicapped room with a porthole that looks out to the FRONT of the ship!!!

The cruise is booked out that far because at lunch yesterday(under the London Bridge) there are some BIG changes being made with Howard job shhhhhh cant tell ya now it's a secret. And all good.

So to pass the time this week, Im training harded for my recycle race, and costume pass by. The race is a 5k and all runner receive a parstispant award, and the pass by is a fashion show of Halloween costumes... me: Im a reindeer, antlers and all Howard dressing as himself, hmmmmm, perhaps I can get him to wear a white beard and go as Santa!

Anyway... we are all good here and looking foward to a new adventure: 2012

Sounds like you were not the only one to experience problems after leaving the ship. The resort check in was a mess and that delayed us. We kept our eyes open. Did see you one day as we were coming out of the Pirates ride but we were to far back to catch up. Candida and I really had a hard time in WDW this year. It felt like the magic of Disney stayed on the Magic. We did manage to bump into Jason one day. That helped turn the feelings around. We came to the conclusion that the big thing was on the ship it is very personalized and friendly. But in the parks the friendliness isn't because the recognize you it's because they are supposed to be happy.

We booked for Dec 2011 but that will be changing to something in 2012. Just not sure.



We have a room and time to be tour guides if you make it to Southern Ontario.


Now for some post cruise disappointment:
I meant to order a stateroom gift for Candida before we left Canada, but forgot. So, I had my dad order it for me. When we got into the stateroom the gift was there (well 50% of it). Thinking I misread what was included in the gift or that my dad ordered the wrong thing, and just because we had other things to do, I never went to guest services about it. When we got home I confirmed that 50% of the gift was missing. So, I tried to call DCL. They said that since we had completed the cruise I had to go through the guest services via email. Off goes the email explaining the not all the gift was in the stateroom. Now I am not looking for anything over and above what is missing, it is small enough to put in a standard sized envelope and mail it.

This is the reply we get: "I have spoken with our amenities team and they advised that the pendant is attached to the Winnie the Pooh pillow. They also pulled the amenity card that you signed onboard confirming that you received all of the purchased items. However, as a goodwill gesture, I would be happy to send you a $20 shipboard credit voucher that may be used on your next Disney Cruise Line vacation. This voucher will arrive via postal mail in10-14 business days."

Well, two things are wrong. The pendant never was there and the pillow has been checked over several times. It wasn't even taken out of the packaging until we got home. Second, we never signed anything. I replied that we have pictures of our stateroom and the pillow from the time we walked into the door. Nowhere can you see the pendant and that we never did sign for it.

They replied with scan of the signature card. And, surprise surprise it wasn't either of our signatures. The tone of the this email from them came across to me as "We are giving you a OBC in the value of 50% of the gift price so what is the problem." Well now my problem is that someone is forging signatures and the only way someone get any rectification is to take another cruise just to get a $20 OBC.

We'll have to see what they say now. Still waiting for the next reply from them. They did give us a phone number to call direct but there was no answer.

That is terrible! As far as the CM's on board, they are wonderful but the stories I have heard about some of the CMs landside it just makes me shake my head.

We have rebooked next years, though we didn't meet onboard. Also Valbob has and Custard Tart(Karen).

With regard to being disappointed with WDW this time it seems quite a few of us were. Someone said to us that DCL do us a disservice in that they set the bar very high. Some friends of ours cancelled some dinner reservations as they said Disney weren't getting any more money from them as they had some poor experiences. They are choosing to cruise next year rather than go to WDW. It really seemed that nearly all the TA cruisers we saw afterwards were feeling similar. Not everything was disappointing of course, but it does seem something has slipped recently. I think John would rather not go and give money to Disney in future as he had a poor experience with some housekeeping boss at the BWV, but I fear our little boycott wouldn't hurt Disney at all!!!
