Sept 17 2005 Magic - am i alone on the ship?

O.K. cruising friends my son is asking for an e-mail pal for the cruise. He met a great kid from northern Ohio last year and they had a ball together. We even travelled with them running from hurricane Jeanne until we found the Magic docked in Lauderdale.

So anyone out there with a 10 year old boy?? My son is in the fourth grade, and is a wonderfully well behaved kid ( I might be a little predjudiced) lol. He really is a pretty nice kid though............

My daughter has a email pal (new age pen pal) that has written her once. I can't remember who's daughter it is on here..........sorry life has been a little crazy around here. So if it is your daughter.......my daughter wrote the other day and is anxiously waiting a reply. Remind me who you are. I am really not a complete idiot, just forgetful.

Hope everyone else is doing well. Delta went down to round trip for $120 from Columbus this week......only through August 3rd though. We are still waiting on tickets.

Happy St. Patrick's Day all,

Missyoh8

Missy,
My son would love to chat. He is almost 9 and in third grade (so 9 and 4th on the cruise). he sent you a PM. Sounds great!
karen, Good job on the 40 pounds! I found them if you want them back!! :rotfl2:

Jennat.........we sent a private message to your son. I read it after my son sent it....wow he needs spell check. lol

I am getting really fired up for this trip........it will be here before you know it :sunny:

Have a good weekend all,

Missy

Hi all,
WOW!!!, this thread has gotten long since the last time I was here. Way too much work and not enough play for me. Plus, my wife gets on me if I spend to much time on the computer. Once I get on these boards, I kinda get, well, happy happy!!!!!! The countdown is on.
Hope everyone is doing well. I am on vacation this week, so I plan to catch up on this thread. Talk to ya'll soon.
Gotta love it!!

Hi everyone,
I had a great girls weekend and the conference was great as usual. :cloud9: I got alot of great information :teacher: and a recharging of sorts. Now hopefully I can put it into action and keep it there. I hope everyone else had a good weekend.

Karen- congrats on the weight lose! :jumping3: I wish I could do a little of that myself.

Baward- Nice to hear from you again. We would love to hear from you more often. :listen:

We got a good glimpse of Spring :sunny: this past weekend but today it was about 40 degrees :cold: and raining again. :umbrella: I am such an impatient person. :hourglass I can't wait for summer to get here and the cruise. :boat: But, of course, after the cruise it is going to start getting cold again. But we won't talk about that right now. :ssst:

Bye for now.

Hi all... Today will be they day we have to decide if we book or not... :)

Hoping for a YES!!!!

Hoping all goes well.....yikes... :cheer2:

Depomas,
Well, you now have to book as, apparently, based on my limited information on you, we are twins. :rotfl2: I, too am a female (wait there is more)...I am 36 (I think, I don't have time to do the math with the year born, but to the best of my recollection).....I have a husband (getting scary isn't it)...I have a boy...who is older...who is nine(getting goosebumps) and a girl....who is younger...who is 6(I know, downright creepy :teeth: )....they have the same names (okay, that is a total lie but makes the story better) Do you live in a house? We do too! :Pinkbounc Anyway, definatley book. Well all have a great time and the kids can know someone there own age before hand. Trenton has started e-mailing Missy's boy Bo. Anyway, just saying we hope to see you. :jumping1:
It is COLD :cold: here in Colorado. Probably the first time this year it has been this cold. They say in the lower 40s...THEY LIE!!! It is cold! We are getting a new car this weekend, so that is exciting. It really isn't new but it is new to us. My favorite car is a paid off one sooooo....Anyway, my sister and brother in law are having a hard time financially and they need to buy a van for her childcare she is starting. They can't afford it, so we are giving them ours and my friend is selling hers (and her hubby is freaky about taking care of his cars) so we are buying theirs. It will at least be in better condition than ours.....and cleaner (although I just had ours detailed and it is looking mighty good). Anyway....just realized what a fascinating story that was...NOT!
Is anyone else spending any time in WDW or Universal before or after the cruise? We are going in Wed before and staying until Monday after, so we are having fun planning that part of the vacation too....it will be exhausting but great! :cool1:
Take care everyone....where is LIsa from Denver?

teeth: Where is everyone????

IT IS A BEAUTIFUL DAY HERE IN DENVER. Should be around 70s today. Colorado is like a woman on PMS with her mood swings....dark and stormy one moment and bright and sunny the next.

How is everyone who is moving doing? Hope it is going well. Karen, (moving to FL), did you sell your house yet?

Just checking in...to talk to myself :goodvibes :rotfl: :teeth: . Hope all is well.

Hello everyone :wave2:

Hope all are doing well. I am afraid, Jen, that the weather here is the same. Yesterday it was raining :umbrella: and around 45 degrees. :cold: Today it is sunny :sunny: and 60 degrees and suppose to be 70 tomorrow. Now that's what I'm talking about! But they are calling for more rain on Thursday or Friday. :sad2: Hopefully that call gets disconnected! :rotfl2: I crack myself up. A new car sounds exciting. What did you get? I just had my van in the shop for a couple of days for something they couldn't even fix! :earseek: At least its still under warrenty so I didn't have to pay for any of it.

So how is everyone else?
Depomas- What was the verdict?
C'mon, let's hear from ya!

  HELLO!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry for the yelling...

We are booked.... :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Glad to have you on board!!! :cheer2:

And hey to everyone here! It's been forever since I've posted! Ive been checking in periodically, but I've been SO busy with school and work. It seems like months since I've gotten 6 or more hours sleep. Oh, wait! It has been months!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2:
It's almost over though! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Ok, no more distractions...back to work. :badpc: At this rate I MAY get to bed by 3am!!! :earseek:

Good night!

Hello friends!

I don't post often, but I do check in and see what's new with everyone. I'm writing to see if anyone else is headed to WDW after the cruise? Looks like my sister and I will be headed from PC to WDW for a one night stay to get some ride-time in on our favorites... wondered if anyone else had the same idea? Our travel agent with Cruising Co said he thinks we could be to the hotel (Pop Century for our wallets' sakes) by 10 or so. Whoopee! That means, even if we don't get there until 11, we could have as much as a good 12 hours of park hopping on Saturday and 8 hours on Sunday before we return to lovely (but not as exciting as Orlando) Ohio.

Anyways, just wanted to share the fun news. Nothing's for sure yet, but my sister (the financial planner of these excursions) says she thinks we should do it. That sounds like a go!

Until next time,
Jenny

Hi y'all...

Things are still crazy here in "we've-sold-our-house-and-have-to-get-out-6-weeks-early" land. I still haven't made our plane reservations for the cruise, but I did get tickets for our house-hunting trip to CA at the end of April. As of a couple of weeks ago, Southwest wasn't taking reservations for our time-frame, anyhow.

Looking forward to this trip more and more as the time draws closer!

Karen

Good luck Karen...boy what a job. At least you can get rid of all the junk in the junk drawers. I keep saying I need to move to get all the cr** out of my house :goodvibes .
Jenny, We are going in on the 14th and then staying until Monday after the cruise. We, too, are staying at the Pop Century. I am so excited. We are going to do WDW and Universal so it will be crazy busy...but fun.

Colorado is back to Brrrrrr :cold: ...there is snow falling. Let it be summer :hourglass

Jen,

I really hate to hear that it is soooooo :cold: cold out there. It is only 71 degrees here as I type this message, of course I have been inside working all day and have not had the chance to enjoy it yet. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc I noticed that you now have a twin, at least in a round about way, joining us on the cruise (depomas), that may be fun for you but that means the rest of us will have to put up with two of you :scared1: :scared1: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Karen,

Trisha, the kids and are in the same boat (no pun intended) :rotfl2: :rotfl2: but we have not booked our flights as of yet, but it is still a little early.

Welcome to everyone new and those of you just visiting every so often

"The only way to have a friend is to be one."

Steve,
Don't hold your breathe with the weather. We were 71 on Monday...do you want to know where this cold goes when it is done here  :wave2: ...comin' your way :)
We haven't booked flights either, yet...still waiting for the prices to go down!

O.K. St. Louis people! My husband and I are doing a 24 hour without kids in your town and I have a few questions. We are booked at the Raddison downtown what do you think of that?? We are party people so we are interested in doing a little gambling maybe and a fun bar (jazz possibly). What are some good places to go? Is there a fabulous steak house downtown? We could stay somewhere else, but location is important. We must have a view. Just hunting for suggestions.....no kids... just us for 24 hours. Southwest had $30 tickets so we going someplace new!

Let me know what you all think.........

Missy

Missyoh8~
I've never stayed at The Radisson Downtown, but I've heard good things about them.
As for the rest...
Let's see...For gamling, there's Casino Queen and President's Casino (both riverboat casinos, and both VERY close to the downtown area.) There's Big Bang near downtown on Laclede's Landing. (it's a dueling piano bar-type place. LOTS of fun!)
As far as steakhouses, I've never personally been to any of the downtown restaurants. But I've heard that Mike Shannon's Steakhouse is really good. Kemoll's is a good Italian restaurant. I'm sure there are LOTS of things I'm leaving out...but if I think of any, I'll post em!

Hello everyone- Another 70 degree day here in So. Illinois. BUT, tomorrow it is suppose to be raining and in the 50's (not as bad as what you got, Jen, but it probably came from your direction). But then it is back to beautiful spring for the weekend. We are thinking of going to Garden of the Gods for a picnic on Sunday. I love Spring!

Missy- There is a really fun place, also on Leclede's Landing, called the Royal Dumpe Inn. It is a dinner theater and it is super fun. Steve and I actually got engaged there. We keep saying we are going to go back but haven't yet (its been ten years!). It is like going back to jolly old England in the 1600's complete with wenches and Henry VIII, who happens to be played by my neighbor's son. I just found that out the other day. Another fun place is Union Sation which has some good resturants in it. We usually eat at Route 66 when we go up for the Illini/Mizzou basketball game (Go Illini!!!). Anyway, whatever you do have a great time.

Have a good weekend everyone.

Hi all!!! Oh my gosh, I've missed a lot of postings!

I've been so busy, but it's good to be back and read what everyone's been up to. September can't come soon enough!

Lisa.
