Sept 17 2005 Magic - am i alone on the ship?

Steve,
We are staying at Hotel San Remo in Vegas. We may be sorry but we are going to try it. We go every year and always tend to try somewhere new. This last year we ended up at a show there and liked that it was small and off the beaten path. The pool was tree lined (not a parking lot) and not to busy. I hate the mammoth hotels. Anyway, we were in the cab and asked him about it and he said it was the cleanest hotel. I have since heard otherwise  :scared: but :confused3 what the heck, I feel like making some lemonaide out of lemons!! It will be fine. It is on the other side of the Tropicana and across the street from MGM, about a block or two off the strip. Hopefully, it will be clean. We paid 275. pp including air and four nights so you can't complain to much. And it is a vacation to look forward to. The great thing is we have been enough times that there is no pressure to see everything (which is exhausting), we can just chill.
I just got the cutest (did I tell you this already?) matching outfits (tropical) from Hilo Hatties (www.hilohatties.com), so we can enter the dorky family contest (and we are sooooo gonna win). i showed my son (9) the shirt and he said "UHHH, Mom. I don't really like that kind of shirt." TOO BAD!!!!! Oh yeah, uh huh, gonna party! :dancer:
Happy birthday to everyone on our cruise. Wow! A lot of moms and dads were busy in January!! (oh come on, the banana is appropriate...giggle, giggle :rotfl2: )
Did I mention that with the three kids came two dogs...the hundred and twenty pound one is howling right now....I'm just saying

Greetings Disney fans!

I'm bored and bummed so I thought I'd post tonight. I haven't posted for a while. Today is my 25th birthday princess: and I've got pink eye in both eyes! My parents were supposed to take me out to lunch but couldn't since I'm contagious, my friends didn't call or write, and my sister/roommate is out of town for business. No fun! :confused3

Anyways, I thought I'd take an opportunity to look forward to sunny days on the ocean, the smell of warm salty air, the tickle of ocean spray while I walk the promenade deck or sit on our verandah, the gentle rocking of the ship when I fall asleep with the sliding glass doors open, the delicious food that I can have quadruple servings of if I want, and the fellowship of other Disney lovers just beaming from ear to ear as they enjoy the magic of the Magic.

Looking forward to meeting you in 6 months and continuing to read these posts!

Until next time....

Donaldsgal.....I am so sorry that you had such a crummy birthday. That stinks!
Happy birthday to you :cool1:
Happy birthday to you :cool1:
Happy birthday dear Donaldsgal :cool1:
Happy Birthday to you! :cool1:
:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

:wizard: Your wish is now granted (and while ::MickeyMo is at it...Mickey ::MickeyMo will cure the pink eye

It is not fun not to be a princess: on your birthday. Last year I forgot my best friend's birthday. She didn't tell me. Just kept letting me dig myself in further and further. When I figured it out....boy did I have some making up to do....flowers, singing (groveling)....in other words MAKE THEM ALL PAY! :teeth: :teeth:
The weather here has changed....sleeting, hailing, snowing, blowing :cold: YUCK!

Counting the :hourglass time until warm beaches, good friends and cold beverages (oh and free kids camps :rotfl: )

Ok..now I'm going to get down to the real reason I'm on this cruise. Yes it will be great to vacation with my dbs, dns, dsil, and dm. :grouphug:

Having grown up on the LOVE BOAT and totally loved Capt. Stubing, Julie, your Cruise Director, Purser-Gopher, Doc, Isaac..even Ted McGinley the photographer who joined shortly before the Love Boat jumped the shark.

So here's the burning question: Are there any singles on board this cruise?? I know this is a family cruise so the odds are probably a gazillion to one...but a girl can dream after all it is DISNEY. "A dream is a wish your heart makes." :sunny: I may be hanging out with Isaac....I'll have a pitcher of Margarita's please

I mean...next to the LOVE BOAT we have the TITANIC movie..and although I'm no Rose/Kate Winslett....perhaps there will be a Leo/Jack Dawson. Now, I'm really in fantasyland. :rotfl2:

Maryanne

Hi everyone- :wave2:
Welcome to all the newcomers. We should have a great meet and greet party on board. :chat: :hyper2: :grouphug: I can't wait! :jumping1:

Maryanne- I am not sure if there are any singles in our crusie meets thread but you could post on the questions board and see what or who, rather, you could find. :love2:  :love1: :lovestruc

For Christal or anyone else considering flying to Orlando from Midamerica, I was told that they are only flying that route on Tuesdays and Thursdays. :guilty: Have you heard the same or know anything about that?

Jen- You lucky dog! When are you going to Vegas? I assume after April 15th, right?! I wish we were going with you. That is a great price. You will have to tell us how that hotel is. We have stayed at the Tropicana and heard alot of bad reviews about it before we went. But we had a great time there and would definatly stay there again. I can't wait to here how it goes. :listen:

So does anyone else have any plans before our cruise? :boat: We are spending Mother's day and the week after in Destin, Fl. and I can't wait to get my toes in the sand. Its a good way to get a good start on my tan! :sunny:

Trisha

Trisha, April 30th -May4 and you are welcome to go. I would rather go to Destin. It is just difficult to get there from here.
Forget the snow....it is sunny and beautiful here now. So weird. They said it was a spring thunderstorm that froze. That is what it felt like...frozen rain, 50 mile and hour winds....crazy. Thank goodness it has moved on...Look out Trisha..heading your way.

Hi all!

Trish! Can you believe this weather??? Today was one of the more bizarre days that I can remember! Hey, I read that you're going to Vegas! Whoo hoo! My DH and I went over Thanksgiving. We had a blast!

Lisa,
I think that you were directing it toward me, Jen. Yes, that weather was to bizarre. This whole winter has been, although not to that extent. I have lived here 25 years and know the weather changes on a dime but :sunny: :umbrella: :cold: :cloud9: :cold: :cold: :umbrella: :cloud9: this has been crazy!
Jen

Hi ...... I am back. Welcome to all the newbies. Happy to have you join us in September.

Jen, thanks for asking. It went great in Florida. Clearwater was absolutely beautiful. We are now moving there. We put the house on the market and it sold the next day. I didnt want to show it on the day I listed it bc I was exhausted. We showed it the next a.m.and the client came in with an offer. It was above our listing. Gotta love this market. So I doubt I will have time for socializing with all of you but I will keep in touch as much as I can. I am still working on the spreadsheet.

ATTENTION ALL CRUISERS: if you would like to be added to our spreadsheet please pm me with the following:
Disney Signon, Real Name, Spouse name and your ages, Children (DD/DS) Name Age, Email, and Home

EX: SKYCON, KAREN, JEFF (33/ME 33), DD SKYLAR 7 DS CONNOR 3, ABCDEF@AFG.COM AND VB VA (FOR 3 MORE WEEKS :cool1: )

This way I don't have to go thru and try to figure it all out. Yes I am asking for you all to make my life easier. I will then email you with the spreadsheet. This way everyone knows who is going. Of course you don't have to give all the info just what you want showing.

I can't wait to meet you all in September. Oh by the way... here in vb va it was 74 on Monday and snowing by noon on Tuesday. :confused3 Whatever!

Take care everyone.

real name,

Thanks for doing the spread sheet...I will PM you my stuff...I hope everyone else does too.
Real exciting about the job and the selling the house so quick. My that lifts the stress. Have you found a house in Fl yet? What part of Fl (Miami?) Just think how much easier it will be to cruise :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc and we will all have a free place to stay now :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Yippee!! :teeth: Just kidding? Refresh my memory about you. Do you have kids and how do they feel about moving...not that you can do anything about it. Good luck and keep in touch. Let us know if we can help you move :) :moped: :grouphug: :wizard: This is the only moving we can do   Everyone on your feet and do the banana!!!

Hi everyone-
Karen- Congrats on your move and selling the house! :cheer2: I hope everything goes as smoothly for you as possible. I will PM you my info soon.

We are going to Central, Il. for the weekend and I hope the weather is bearable. It has been cold :cold: here the last few days but mostly sunny. At least we haven't got the snow they thought we might get. Now we are just expecting flurries tomorrow night. My kids are on spring break next week from school :teacher: and I was planning on going to the zoo and some other outside activity but I am not sure it is going to be warm enough now. I don't know why :confused3 we always have spring break so early, it is always still cold. It would be nice if it was in, say, SPRING! :earseek: Oh well, I am hoping the weather turns a little warmer by the time we get home on Sunday. I am looking forward to not having to get up early to take the kids to school.

Have a good weekend everyone. I'll check in when I get back.

Karen, Congratulations! That is wonderful. Virginia Beach & Clearwater sound awfully good from here in southwest Missouri!

Snow White, I recall on last year's Navigators daily(?) get-togethers for singles with crew members. There is a site that publishes the Navigators, you might take a look and see how it is described. I don't remember exactly. And don't forget the romance of the sea is very alluring in its own right, so I predict you will fall in love -- it just might not be with a person.

Trisha, I actually have more plans than I thought between now and the cruise, but no weeks in florida like you, just some nice weekend jaunts -- Atlanta for Easter; FL in April for work but my daughter and babysitter are coming along; and Vegas in May with some girlfriends (we did it last year and decided to make it annual). Depending on DH's schedule over the summer (he'll be back from Ohio i late April -- finally!), we spend quite a bit of time at Lake of the Ozarks. Otherwise, work and summer stuff, swimming, being outside as much as possible, etc.! I like cruising in Sept as it makes the end of summer not so hard to take (not to mention liking the rates!).

Tea for Wendy thanks for the info for singles. I'll check out the Navigator thingy you suggest when on-board. As to falling in love...I am already in love with the sea. I love the ocean and white sandy beaches.

Wish I was on one right now...instead of 30 degree weather here in the dreary Mid-west (Indianapolis, IN).
I'll say it again...only 6 months til cruisetime.... :cool1:

I'm looking forward to a quick trip to Las Vegas in April...staying at NYNY. Been there so many times..just as many as WDW and DL..hope to win enough to pay off rest of trip!

Hi y'all...

It's been a while since I've checked in. We were busy getting our house ready to put on the market. We put a sign in the yard on the 5th, had an open house the next day; showed the house Wed. and Thursday and had an offer Thursday night. We countered and accepted an offer Friday evening. Now we are just waiting for the inspection this weekend and it will be a done deal. Have to be out of the house April 15 if all goes according to plan. That means 6 weeks of temporary housing for us while we wait for time to move to California.

We still haven't booked our flights. I'm hoping we do that soon. Hopefully the price won't go up before we do.

I am going to be SO ready for this cruise by the time we get there! Too much stress in my life right now.

Karen

Hello all,
Our trip up north was nice albeit cold but it was nice to see our friends again. We ended up leaving later than we had planned due to a nail in my tire. So we had to switch everything around and take my husband's truck. It has been pretty windy and cold but it is suppose to warm up to 50 degrees today. At least we didn't get the snow they were predicting. I don't think summer can get here soon enough. Next week it is suppose to be really nice, of course my kids will be going back to school from spring break. Several of my friends are in Disney right now. Oh, how I wish I were with them.

Karen #1- Congratulations on selling your house. I hope the move to California goes smooth and quick for you. I am sure it will be nice to leave these midwest winters behind.

I just watched the Disney Cruise Line show on Travel Channel. It was the Wonder, not the Magic but it still made me long for September. Talk to you all again soon.

Just wanted to pop in and say "hi" to everyone. DH and I are looking forward to our 5/1 land/sea vacation. I will try to post more on this thread after that. Hope everyone is doing fine!

Well, the weather here this morning is beautiful. :sunny: I can definatly smell Spring in the air. :flower2: :flower1: :daisy: I am leaving today to go up to Bloomington, Il. for the Hearts at Home women's conference and I am hoping the weather is just as nice there. But it is always about 10 degrees :cold: colder there so I am not holding my breath. It will be a nice time away with some girl friends :grouphug: :hyper2: :chat:   and hopefully I come back a better wife and mother. Hope you all have a great weekend.

Happy St. Patty's day everyone! :shamrock:

Trisha, Have a great "girls weekend" and good luck with that better mother/wife thing :goodvibes . Let me know if it works...maybe I'll check it out. :teeth: Have a ball!
Ragdoll...where are you going again? Land/sea...that sounds like a cruise????
Karen, way to go selling your house so fast! Yippee! That is awesome. Where are you moving in California?
The weather here is beautiful. I went yesterday and had a massage :cool1: , ladida for me. She said I had a lot of (whatever they are called)..stress points and I named them for her...Aidan, Kellen, Bailey, Trenton, and Natalie...several kids had more than one :goodvibes Hope all is well with everyone.

Jen, we are moving to the Fairfield, CA area.... between San Francisco and Sacramento. Hopefully we'll be headed that way in a month or so to look for a place to live!! The massage sounds great. I need to book one; I won a 1-hour massage in a silent auction last weekend. It's with a student, but I'll take anything I can get!

Trisha, hope you enjoy the conference. There's nothing like getting together with friends for some heart-to-hearts.

Just got in from a WW weigh-in (after missing 2 weeks of meetings) and was down 4.8 pounds! Just .4 to go to hit 40!
