Sept 17 2005 Magic - am i alone on the ship?

Good news!!! :cool1:

I just learned about a great flight deal!!! There is a relatively small airline out of Mid-America Airport called Trans Meridian Airlines. They have flights to and from Orlando for $79 each way! That's the best deal I've found so far. The only bad thing I've seen thus far is that they only have winter schedules posted right now, so you can't even book a flight to Orlando this far out yet. But if it's $79 each way, then it won't hurt to wait. :hourglass
I know Southwest usually runs specials with flights to Orlando, so I'm still going to wait and see if something better comes along. But I though it was worth noting! :wave2:

You can check both out at flymidamerica.com

Chrizjen- That is a deal I have been watching also. It cuts our drive time by almost an hour not having to drive to Lambert airport. The only thing I was wondering about that I have heard was that the planes are only small, 40 seater planes. That wouldn't bother me if it was just me and DH but with two small kids I don't want to be on a small plane. Do you know anything about this?

Welcome to all the new commers! Can't wait to get to know you all better!
Trisha

Hi Karen #1. I'm actually a Realtor here in Colorado. I can sympathize with you. I have many clients doing exactly what you're doing right now. Hang in there!

Do any of you know the best place to stay before the cruise? I've read many of the boards, but not sure what to do. We're traveling with another couple and their daughter. We'd like to arrive the day before and maybe stay at a Disney hotel and maybe visit Epcot. How does that work with our luggage getting to the ship? Also, I read on one of the boards, that they actually got a free pass for the parks when they arrived the day before. Anyone heard of this...I know we could just take a shuttle out to one of the hotels by the Port, but I thought a day at Epcot sounded like fun. Yikes...I still have to book our flights...Sorry for the rambling, I tend to think aloud! Please forgive me!

Constanz,
Where in Colorado do you live. I am in Highlands Ranch. Hello Neighbor :cool1:

Jen,
That's so cool!!! I'm in the Denver Tech area, a neighborhood called Southmoor Park. Are you originally from Colorado?

My actual name is Lisa, Constanze is a role I did in a play here in Colorado called Amadeus...I couldn't figure out a username that already hadn't been used:)

Hi everyone new and yay! Last year we made the same mistake on REAS and missed pirate night. We were waitlisted for early dinner, but got it. It was not bad getting ready for early dinner at all, at least with a 3 year old. We had good luck with the Matinee shows, too. I hope we get early dinner again. Palo on the last night sounds like a great idea. I love their brunch even more! I can't wait, I can't wait, I can't wait.

I've been known to say similar things to my husband, "just sit there and look pretty."

Jen & Trish, I've never heard back from Lord Sheffield. I just realized that. I guess I'll need to e-mail them again.

Hope everyone is doing great. I'm dying at work, but relief should only be a few weeks away???

Wendy

Lisa, That is cool! I am trying to think where Southmoor park is...is it on Arapahoe and Quebec? I can't think. I have lived in the area by Prk Meadows (Willow Creek...I forget you are a realtor) from 1981 to college and then moved to Parker and now Highlands Ranch so I am pretty familiar with the area, would love to know where it is. We will have to have lunch or get the kids together prior to sailing. It would be fun and the kids are so close in ages and the same sexes, I am sure they would like to have someone (else) they know. Fun!
Wendy, I don't know about Lord Sheffield, Trisha handled that but I'm thinking they should have gotten back to you by now!
Well we had a fun time yesterday.... I took my kids to see Because of Winn Dixie and when I got out I had all these missed calls on my cell. Well, it rings and I get one of these...."Okay, I don't want you to panic but..... :scared1: :scared: you're husband is in the ER :faint: ...." Well I paniced! Anyway to make a long story short, he had a kidney stone attack. Poor guy, I have never seen him in so much pain. Of couse he had to wait in the emergency room for an hour and a half to be seen ( you would think we lived in the inner city, not suburbia) and of course he had to wait without me which made me feel terrible. When I got there he was literally writhing in pain. The jerk nurse (male) was so rude. One example was he told my hubby that he has suffered through 14 of these attacks and he usually just toughs them out :crazy2: . Could you be any ruder! Anyway, trying not to burn bridges with someone I might need to save my life later, I let him live but it was touch and go for a second or two. Anyway, I felt terrible for my hubby. I have had gall stones and two kids and the gall stones were worse. COuple that with the fact that men never have pain and I think he thought he was going to die. I think it was his first narcotic since we have been married (13 years), heck I feel like they just need to leave the IV in my arm. Something is always going crazy on me!!!!! The curse of being a woman. What made it worse is he is an accountant and if he had had to miss any more work he would have had a coronary and it would have been life threatening!
Anywhooo...hope all is well with you all. Certainally not complaining. It could have been a lot worse and like my momma always says " This too shall pass" PUN INTENDED :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Jen,
Oh my gosh!!!! You're poor husband!!! I am so sorry. I can't imagine my hubby going through that. Is he recovering okay?

Southmoor Park is actually in Denver, around the Tamarac area. Kind of Hampden and I25ish. We definitely should meet up with the kids and have lunch! That would be a blast!!

Have you booked your flights yet? Are you going to fly the day before? We're still figuring out the rest of our itinerary. So far all we've done is booked the cruise...which of course, is the best part:)

I reallllllllyyyy hope you're husband is doing much better.

Lisa,
Okay, I happen to know it is 11:53 where you are! Go to bed (I will too!) we have not booked our flights yet. we too are waiting to figure out how long we can stay (Mike can take off). I know we are going in at least Wed prior and staying an extra day on the end. He owns his own firm and he has to see how things are going. Stresses me out. There was a deal the other day for $133.00 round trip, unfortunately, it was only good through June. Let's keep each other informed if we see any good deals. I need to look through CO Spr too. Heck, it is almost as close as DIA. Is Southmoor the area btwn Picalos ) Hamden and ? and 225? The street that the movie theatre with the gigantic screen is on (normally I know the name of these things, maybe because it is midnight I am drawing a blank. If so, I love that area! Trees and yards. Something you don't get in Highlands Ranch, just ask Trisha, I think she was scarred when she visited! The only kind of ball we can play in our yard is hackey sack.
Go to sleep,...good night everyone.

Jen,
The name of the movie theatre is the Continental. YOu found me! Yep, that's where I live.
So are you planning on staying at a Disney property when you go? Are you buying park passes? I'm suppose to check into all that stuff for our group that's going.
Hy husband also has his own firm! So I can relate to you on that level too. He's not an accountant though...he's a graphic designer. Your hubby must be super busy this time of year!

Everyone,
What hotels do you guys reccommend, if we want to spend a couple days at the parks before we hit the cruise?

Hello everyone,
Not much going on here, just cold and snow flurries mixed with ice and freezing rain. Yuck! Is summer ever going to get here??!!
Lisa- Jen and I (and our families) are talking about staying at the Allstars Pop culture hotel but we haven't nailed that down yet. Jen is staying for longer than we are. We are only staying the night before the cruise. I have never been to Disney so I can't be more help than that.
Wendy- Ron with Lord Sheffield got back to me with in a couple of days so maybe your e-mail got lost in the shuffle some how. I would send him another one. Good luck.
Talk to you again soon.
Trisha

Trisha,
We're all thinking about going the day before too. Will you visit one of the parks that day? Are you from Colorado too?
Lisa.

Lisa- We are probably not going to get into Orlando until late afternoon so we are going to just hang out at the hotel. We have not been to Disney or Universal yet so a few hours won't do us much good. No, I don't live in Colorado. I live in S. Illinois. Jen and I met on a cruise in 2003. We stayed with her for a week last June and she gave us a good tour of the area. We tried camping in Estes Park but only lasted one night because it was so cold at night. We still had a great time though. I can't wait to see her and her family again.

It is now snowing here and if I wake up tomorrow morning and they have cancelled school I am not going to be happy. Somebody send me some sunshine and warm temps, quick!!!! :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Trisha

No, I'm sure that they don't. You can arrange Disney transportation for around $50.00pp roundtrip. We are just renting a car and dropping it in Cape Canavral (about 3 miles from port and they have a shuttle), it is about $37.00 for the size car we would need for all our luggage!!! Saves around a hundred dollars. Look for codes on allearsnet.com. I can dig it out for you if you want later.

Hey everyone,
Just checking in. What is with all the script at the bottom of the pages. I am assuming it is because they turned off the HTML and that is what is left of our countdowns. Yuck!
'
Well I am taking it easy today. I was the clown at my kids school carnival yesterday. Okay, first of all...how I got suckered into that, don't ask me. Second of all, you would think that being a clown is easy...yeah, so did I. At first I was a great clown, jumping and happy and silly. :dancer: :bounce: :jester: By the end, 5 hours later, I was like bad santa clown, cigarette hanging out of my mouth and beer in the other hand saying "What do you WANT kid! (okay, not really a cigarette (don't smoke) and beer but definately over the HAPPY phase! SO OVER IT! I am so sore (how pathetic) from squating down and holding the big basket of candy and balloons (my back). Keeping in mind I am a muralist and hold my hands over my head to paint all day and am relatively young and in okay shape. I can't believe how exhausted I was. Be nice to clowns is all I have to say. :worship: And now I know how Pathetic I really am!!!!
Hope you are all enjoying the weather in your respective states. It is beautiful here today and great. I'll enjoy it while it lasts. We are off to the park. Take care. :cloud9: :cloud9:

I like those timers Missy! 6 months sounds pretty darn good (or better than 7 or 8...) Jen, you are cracking me up abt the clown thing. And you are an awfully good sport. My dh does Santa duty from time to time. Yesterday was so gorgeous here -- low 70's, sunny, etc. Today colder and rainy. Was going to a friends house to watch the Oscar's, but dd has some sort of viral hives. They really broke out all over her face around 11pm last night. She had such a hard time sleeping -- she was so itchy. I was paniced at first, thinking it was chicken pox or measles or something she'd been immunized for, but she has very few bumps today & the nurse on call said these viral hives are going along with the colds and stuff right now. I hope it doesn't flare up tonight. I'm exhausted! I am also so very excited to meet all of you on the cruise. How fun! Everyone have a great week -- March is almost here -- I can feel spring coming...

Viral hives...I have never heard of such a thing. I hope she feels and looks :) better soon. Yuck! There is so much yucky stuff going around right now! You can keep that one in your state :teeth: Tell her to feel better.

Hello everybody I am of course Trisha's(getoutthere) Husband. Some of you might have figured that out on your own. Thought I would take a couple of minutes and post a message. Did not know that it would take an hour to get to the point I am now. First you register :teacher: then you modify your options :badpc: then you find your way back to the thread (thought thread was for sewing) and then type in your message, then you lose your message and have to type it all over again. Of course you are still not sure if it is going to work until you post it. This is my first time can you tell.

Have to put in one of these  for Jen.

After looking at the latest messages it seems to me that I am the only guy :cool1:  that is posting on this thread. Maybe this will get something started for those guys out there to get in and "Post on the Thread" :rotfl2: (sounds like a new rock group or maybe a cereal). It is really not as hard as I made it out to be :confused3 .

Anyway everbody have a good day and God Bless

Wow just found out that you can preview your post before you send it, crazy how you can find new things if you just look
