Sept. 11, 2011 It's never too early to Dream

Thank you, that's very helpful. Maybe just a smidge less rough than airline baggage handling, then? :rotfl:

Maybe we'll just bring our big suitcase. My dresses are great fabric -- they won't wrinkle -- then we can put hubby's jacket on top. The suitcase is designed for that anyway. We have Palo & Remy ressies and we're going to do them up right. I spend all day in t-shirt and shorts (one of the benefits of working from home!) so I'm looking forward to the dress-up opportunities.

Hello everyone! Good to hear we have a meet lined up. Our daughter's wedding was wonderful on the beach yesterday. It was cloudy most of the day and we were worrying that it might rain, but just before time the sun came out and it was beautiful and so was she. We leave NC tomorrow for home and back to cruise preparations!!

Ok, ok, ok, ok, I guessed I missed it!:confused3 When is the cruise meet? Work has been so hectic here this pass week or two. Went back to work full time to help train the new supervisor. (Have to say...............the phrase slooooooooow learner seems to fit him pretty darn good!!!) It sometimes seems to go right over his head, and he is suppose to have some experience in the printing industry. But anywho, back to topic, I guess I missed when we are going to meet. Let me know and DW and I will be there with bells on. (Well, not literally with bells on, but you get my meaning!!!) Of course we could go out and buy some bells and put them..............nnnooooooooooo thats silly!!!:banana::banana::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Ok count us in.

Did anyone watch the Dream sail out yesterday evening? The operator of the camera really zoomed in close to the ship. You could actually see the guests faces clearly as they waved to the camera. Also, while they zoomed in you could see guests cruising by on the AquaDuck!!! Really nice!!! He also zoomed in on the back of the ship to show Sorcerer Mickey and the brooms!:thumbsup2 This was one of the best sail outs DW and I have seen.

Well, I hope ya'll have a great day today. Talk to you again soon.:woohoo::yay:

Is everyone watching Hurricane Irene this week? Here's hoping Mother Nature gets this all out of her system before we sail!

Totally off topic, but I'm shopping airfare for a conference in Vegas in November. Here's a tip I just learned: If at any point you see a fare and say, Wow! That's a really good price! Just book it. Bah. Fares have really gone up since I started looking.

I have to agree also. But living here in sunny Florida, DW and I have learned that this time of year you just can never tell when one of these things might be coming your way.:confused3 You just hope for the best. DW and I hope we have sunny skies and smooth sailing all thru our cruise!!!:woohoo:

We're so excited! 17 days and we will be in the car on our way to sunny Florida! We've been waiting so long it almost doesn't seem real! I pick up my wedding dress Thursday. I hope it fits right:rotfl:

I just hope we don't get slammed. I am not ready for this storm. I don't have my evacuation plan yet!

I packed all of my sons clothes yesterday, ALL his outfits, and had him try on his pirate costume to make sure it would still fit (he's gotten 2years out of it so far, and THIS will be year 3!! Best thing I've EVER made! (Figured he could way his brothers if his hadn't of fit). The FE gifts are all packed except for some for the 2nd half of our B2B. Mliprestons FE is PACKED :thumbsup2 (has been for a while). What all should I put in the carry on bag for the plane? We have two, one is all the FE gifts, the other Tim and I will share as far as stuff we'll need. For flying, can meds go in the carryon? I'll pack his DS, the Cameras, his bathing suit, his journal, my DH's kindle (I've tried purchasing "The Help" for that via the Amazon Kindle Store, but they don't have the book available, only they Audio version of it. Whats up with that?)

I am Going too along with 7 other cabins full of my family. Any idea if we can still get in on the fish extenders?

WELCOME!! Glad to see our Dis group still growing!! We are ALL almost bursting with excitement as this cruise draws nearer and nearer :).

As for the FE, sorry, but it has already been closed out. Many people make their gifts and even for those purchasing items, they need a definitive number at least a month before the cruise to give them time to get the supplies ect.... However, what you can do, since you are traveling with people in 7 other cabins, thats a good number to run your own FE if all your group were up to it!
Now on my last cruise, we had quite a large group, and after the close out date there was still a significant amount of late comers that were interested so we started a GROUP B for the late comers. Some from Group A participated in Group B. I don't know at this point if thats doable but if anyone is interested let me know :thumbsup2

I live near Bistol Motor Speedway. I need to get past this weekend's races -- we have tickets for three nights  -- then I'll start packing!

I have a friend who is there this weekend. I will pack after all of this hurricane talk is over with. I think my DH is preparing for the worst and I am thinking it is like the hurricane last year (it just missed us).

I'm also hoping mother nature gets everything out of her system before our cruise. Having never been on a cruise my mother is already nervous enough about seasickness. We had to skirt the edges of a tropical storm on our last DCL cruise and it was quite a ride (the pools were like wave pools, we had 25ft seas on our last night and we had to miss Castway Cay) but I don't think my mom would get a kick out of it.

JustTJ - I actually have an old fashioned paperback copy of "The Help". If you're having trouble finding it I could always bring it on board and leave it at your stateroom. I'm actually hoping they'll be showing the movie during our sailing.
