All this talk of crisps is making me hungry. As I mentioned I can't imagine going to whole weeks without a few packs of them. So that's certainly to be one of the things I pick up at Morrison's

And maybe a couple of bags of sweet butterkiss sweet popcorn to smuggle into the movies onboard.

Lol

Don't crackle that Butterkist packet when I am in the cinema!!!

...I have been known to like the odd Bellini, does it taste better when it's free though;)

That's the only way I've known them. Well, I guess you sort of pay for them at Palo's - its not exactly a free brunch.

I have a question about bringing wine/liquor onboard.

My husband just asked about bringing a case of wine onboard :thumbsup2 - Can we bring it on in its case? Or do we need to pack it in something else?:confused::confused:
Anyone have any thoughts regarding this????

On initial boarding, you'll have to carry it around until you get your room. Then and at the subsequent ports, it'll have to fit through the standard x-ray machine. Matter of size, I would imagine.

At Gibraltar, it seems it would be easier to just take a roll-behind suitcase with you and put it in that.

...Are Walkers Cheese & Onion crisps what we would call potato chips?...

Yes; hey, you're Canadian - do you call them chips, not crisps? These are better than sour cream and onion. Walkers was a British crisp maker, now owned by Pepsico/Lay's - the logo and packaging looks very much like Lay's. Still only available in the UK (and its outlying Gibraltar) - well, certain flavors. You can get a selection of Walkers in Barcelona, too, just haven't found the cheese and onion ones, yet.

Hey Debra!
Just let me know what color you like...I've got boas!!! :cheer2: No real New Orleans girl would be caught without them in her costume stash! :rotfl:
Loving all this planning. :goodvibes

Peggy

Pink and pink-friendly for the Champagne Girls, please.

No sneaking required  I love that you can bring "outside food" into this theatre. We bring SmartFood white cheddar popcorn from home to eat in the Buena Vista Theatre. A nice insulated cup with Coke from Deck 9, and we're all set. popcorn::

Hi Deb. The Scrapbook exchange i'm organising isn't a get together to make pages, it's just a swap of papers/embellishments etc to use in your WBTA cruise scrapbook when you get home - kind of like the Fish Extender exchange of gifts. I hope that's ok with you? :flower3:[/QUOTE]

Just fine with me. It'll be fun! Thanks!

Bah-ha-ha-ha! :rotfl2: Only Roger would want to know if he could bring a CASE of wine! I hooted when I read this! Too funny! :lmao: Love it!

We scrappy cruisers *should* have a little meet, though, even if it's only for coffee in the Cove!

Good Morning, Happy Cruisers!

I will have - the raspberry champage thing they give you at Palo for brunch, and a Konk Kooler at Castaway Cay. That is likely the sum total of my year's alcohol consumption, lol. I'd rather EAT my calories.

I, too, prefer to eat my calories, although a cruise "Drink of the Day" does have a special charm. Not a wine drinker or champagne girl, but love those tropical concoctions! DH doesn't imbibe at all anymore. We normally are no sugar/no white flour, but all this talk of "crisps" is making me salivate. OMG, I can't wait. Vacations are our time to let loose and EAT! :goodvibes

Cruising at 30K feet on Virgin America on the way to NYC with Aspen. Listening to Billie Holiday, typing on the net and having breakfast. Even has power in the seats so am charging both phone and computer. What a way to fly!!

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

My flight down south into Burbank a lot less frilly:laughing: but the price was right. Have a safe productive trip.

Wouldn't have minded a few games of Toy Story, an elevator ride to the top, and a quick soar over California. :goodvibes

Believe it or not didn't soar or play games. Only ride was on an escalator and hotel elevator. Walked around enjoying the spring time weather and watching people. :rotfl2: took pics of flowers and shopped. Did, however get a picture with Donald. He did not like, however, my Mickey head shapped autograph book. I reminded him that on his new ship he is an admiral and Mickey is a captain. He liked that:rolleyes1

Good Morning, Happy Cruisers!

Hope we get more scrapbookers to join the swap! I finished 12 sets of pirate page embellishments yesterday, probably enough stuff for a two page spread out of each set.

Happy Day, all!

I scrapbook, Linda. Just need to reread requirements to see if I can commit and come io with some fun ideas. How is heading this up?:confused3

Thanks.

I definitely agree with eating my calories... especially because I plan on eating a lot of them on this cruise. DH doesn't drink at all and I will not be drinking on this cruise because we're hoping to come home with a little souvenir. :rolleyes1

I have been thinking about the scrapbooking on this cruise. I think the swap will be really fun but I definitely plan on doing some scrapping on an at sea day. I'm going to bring my trimmer, adhesive, some small/light embellishments and then buy the paper on the ship and put some pages together. If anyone else wants to do this with me it's always more fun to do it together. I run a small scrapbooking club here at home so I'd be more than willing to plan this. Just PM me if you're interested and I'm sure we could find us a place on the ship to do it. :goodvibes

Thank you. I was actually able to get a round trip fare for the two of us from SFO to NYC for $558 so was a fabulous deal!!

Are you old enough to remember the commercial with the mother and her two sons getting on the elevator? The older brother points to the baby and says "Mommy calls him her little souvenir."

Good luck acquiring a priceless souvenir.

...Okay, it was a Disney Cruise commercial and it was the older sister.

Things are coming into focus: Got one leg of my airfare purchased: JFK to Frankfurt on Singapore Airlines. Both a decent price and the chance to fly Singapore - won't my brother be jealous; that's on his Bucket List.

This is going to be one hodge-podge trip for me. Tentatively, fly into Frankfurt, then over to London (probably British Airways) for a few days, then a weekend somewhere in Europe with my niece who will be doing a semester of law school in London, Mon-Wed at Disneyland Paris, Thu-Fri in Barcelona. Then, of course, stopping along the way in the Atlantic before returning home to Alabama. Looks like another great adventure - thanks to goofprincess and her announcement of taking this cruise.

Yep, we're Canadian, but we live in Ukraine. Yes, we call them chips not crisps. Do they have a BBQ flavour? DH is really missing BBQ chips. We get a really nice Paprika chips here and we miss them when we are back home in Canada.

Is there microwaves available for popcorn?

That was so adorable, good luck to you Lauren on your little "souvenir"!

We were thinking it would be fun to go to Disneyland Paris first as well, but we were not able to spare the time!:sad2:

That's a drink I have not got round to trying yet Claire...Kir Royal. I will have to try a glass with the goodies that I'm going to buy from the Karamell shop:cloud9:

You are so organised, I will have to get my butt into gear!

On the subject of food at the Champagne meet, do you think we should have some nibbles to go with the drink?

If i've got any room left in my case i'll bring a bottle of Blackcurrant Cassis with me & we can make Kir Royals at the Champagne girls meet. :thumbsup2

Nibbles sound good. Maybe we could all bring a little bag/pack of something to share?

Claire, did you order a proper tiara or one of the plastic fun ones? I was looking at a real one on ebay which was really cheap :)

Good idea Michelle, we should all take along a little selection from Morrisons, don't want to drink on an empty stomach (mind you that isn't usually a problem on DCL lol). If the champagne ladies isn't long after Gibraltar, we could get some strawberries.

If any of the shops on the High Street in Gibraltar sell blackcurrant cassis, we can make our own Kir Royales :thumbsup2

Mary I did buy a proper one, it was only about £6-7 and looked so cute. :cutie: Plastic ones are fine though if you are planning to ditch them for luggage space on your way home, I bought a really cheap boa so i can bin it afterwards as I don't want pink fluff everywhere.

Just fine with me. It'll be fun! Thanks!

That's great. :thumbsup2

I am organising the Scrapbook exchange (details on first page) it's a swap of papers/embellishments etc to use in your WBTA cruise scrapbook when you get home, let me know if you want to join in and i'll add you to the list. :goodvibes

I've got you down on the Scrapbook exchange list. :thumbsup2 I'm not sure i'll be able to bring trimmer, adhesive, embellishments etc with me to do any scrapbooking on the cruise due to space/luggage allowance. If this changes nearer the time then i'll let you know. :)

Congrats on booking part of your flight, one step closer. :cool1:

Yes Walkers do make BBQ flavour too, hopefully you'll be able to get them in Morrisons. :thumbsup2

Claire that would be lovely...the photo of your Kir Royal in your report looks lovely.

I think that's a great idea about the snacks:thumbsup2

Claire I would be really worried with you carrying cassis in your case, OMG what if it broke :scared1: if you don't manage we can purchase one.

Thanks for the heads up on your tiara, the one I saw was about the same price. Again, the boa was really cheap and I don't intend taking it home either :cool1:
