*Sept 10th 2011 WB Transatlantic* - From Spain to Space Mountain - Part 6

Hi everyone, we are home now. :( Thank you all for a wonderful cruise, it was so nice to meet many of you but also sad that I never met everyone.....I guess we'd better hope for a reunion cruise in 2013. ;)

We had a lovely few days at BLT after the cruise but unfortunately I picked up a nasty cold so we didn't do as much as we'd planned.

I guess i'd better carry on with the unpacking & :laundy:

Sorry to hear you picked up a cold ... hope it didn't impact on your enjoyment too much and that you had a great time in WDW. I am still doing laundry ... one more load of ours to go, and now Taryn's stuff has arrived to add to the pile!

I think we all have our fingers crossed for 2013 !! It was great to meet you both and I'm glad you 2 had a great time :cool1:

I don't think we'll forget those painkillers for a while.... they were scrummy :lovestruc:lovestruc my Stevie and Sarah's Tony definitely overindulged on those :rotfl2:

I can't believe that I never managed to catch up with everyone, the time just seemed to fly past and we ran out of time!

Everything crossed for 2013. :wizard::wizard: Tony definitely had one ( or more ) too many painkillers .... I can't believe we missed Palo dinner that night with my sunburn and Tony being completely zonked !!!

Do we know if there will be a Disney transatlantic in 2013 or is it just a rumour for now?

It is a rumour but hopefully it will be true :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

He did Magic .... and far outclassed the official DCL magicians :thumbsup2

Totally agree with you, Sarah. Warren's magic tricks were far better than any of those done by the magicians employed by Disney. :thumbsup2. I still can't work out how he did them! Thanks Warren for making our cruise even more magical :)

Warren was exceptional, I have never met someone so naturally gifted and entertaining like that, he is such a sweetheart and a little treasure :wizard:

I would just like to echo this statement. Warren you are a GEM :worship:. I was so entertained whenever you were around and you are so talented at what you do. It was a pleasure to meet you and spend time with you :cool1:

Wow thanks guys i'm blushing:flower3:

Thanks to you all for being such a gracious audience and all round wonderful people. You all made my magical cruise all the more magical.

Love you all

I don't know about her, but when boarding our flight Sunday morning at MCO, a family behind us had lost their ipad onboard. The mom had heard about me and my issues with trying to get Sarah's overnight Character Campout bag back that had been most likely mistakenly taken by another parent when picking up our little ones from Kids Club the following morning. It had two pairs of Sarah's shoes (and nice clothes from dinner the previous night), and thankfully we had her plastic princess shoes she could wear since she was not allowed in restaurants without shoes! But Guest Services was of ZERO help, as was the Oceaneer's Club until we finally had it escalated that afternoon. Four trips to Guest Services per issue was usually our norm to finally get issues resolved, and we had about four issues to deal with throughout the cruise: changing Mixology ticket due to Princess Tea time assigned, Overnight Character Campout bag taken (eventually got it back), wine glasses for stateroom, and no Shutters CD delivered to cabin on disembarkation day. I kinda got used to standing in that line :rolleyes1

I met the lady who had her Ipad stolen when we were on a tour of Tortola together - I told her about Sarah's "shoe incident" and told her she should really press Disney harder about the Ipad, so that's how she knew about it. Word can travel fast!

I know what you mean about the Guest Services line... we were there a lot ourselves. It took several trips to get air conditioning in our cabin, and we also had the Mixology ticket issues. I thought they would start wincing at the sight of us!

Mandy, I have to tell you how much we enjoyed spending time with you and your family, and how much we miss you. Meeting you was a huge highlight of our trip! We had such a great table with Sarah and Brian and all our kids - we sure kept Plamen hopping!

I really miss all you guys. xxx

Thanks for the info about the bear, everyone - I really was curious but was too chicken to ask the bear's lady directly :flower3:

Ditto, Dawn! I could not look you in the eye when passing you guys in the disembarkation line on our way to breakfast, I was just about to cry and had to keep choking back tears those last several days. :( I had called Curt earlier at work today and told him how I missed y'all! Loved our table, and how many times Plamen got that clueless look on his face (especially Sarah's question of if he was the only one serving the entire restaurant!) I did not know if you had internet access in Vernon, and had even looked at your FB page today to see if you had been posting.

I was back to full-time starting Monday, and today was Curt's first day back to work. It all went by way too quickly. When people ask me if 14 days was way too long, I tell them it was way too short. No way can we go back to 7 day cruises...

Thank you so much Mandy for organising the JVD trip,we had a fantastic time and really appreciated it. Your baby girl playing with the puppies was adorable.

"Ok the bear was called Kirby and was seated for dinner at the table behind us EVeRY evening!! Apparently he has to go away with them as he writes the Christmas newsletter every year! There was definately a story behind it but noone was brave enough to ask. It was quite funny to start with but the novelty quickly wore off when our servers were requested to do everything for the bear which often meant cuttin off a conversation with us to attend to him. He had his own wardrobe of clothing ranging from Hawaiian shirts to pirate shirt. I have a photo of Hazel posing with it which I'll upload later. The husband carried around a stick which was used to prop the bears head up at the table. Most nights he had something from the menu and even had an iced tea and dessert!!"
DH purposely went to the wrong restaurant one night to see if it was true that the server piggy backed the bear to the table and it was. All I can say is that the server better have been tipped for the bear as well!

Wow thanks guys i'm blushing:flower3:

We were a few tables away from you guys. I'm so jealous we never got to see your magic but we got to see everyone else enjoying them. Maybe next time.

We never had one hit our door on deck 8, either, but I signed two or three as we handed out FE gifts and found them on other Dis-doors. Sorry they don't seem to have worked out as planned.

Thanks for being great tour mates on St. M....Lorelai is totally adorable :cutie: (even when she's not feeling her best). I bet she'll be talking about the trip for ages, in her own little way. Soooo cute!

Came home to nothing but rain the past two days. Yuck.

I guess nobody wanted to venture up to deck 8. We had a great time with you guys as well. Sorry we took so long at the end. A few days later I took a look in Lorelei's mouth and it turns out she also got all 4 of her 2nd molars on this trip. I'm sure that contributed to some crankiness. Since we've been home she's been a perfect angel.

Their server was our server as well (they were at the table next to us) - we asked a few times about the bear and you can tell that they did not want to say anything negative about another guest, which obviously they shouldn't.

We were told, though, that when that family shows up he has to run up to the front to bring the bear to the table, as he got chewed out by the head server (Luis) for not being available to do so the night before.

I'm not really upset about it - if nothing else it was a conversation starter for our table and a real thing to "bond" around as we ate together for the two weeks.

Ditto...really hoping they announce another transatlantic.

Loved the 14 day cruise so much, we've booked the October 2012 Hawaii one to belatedly celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary.:cool1:

We sat with the couple with the bear at lunch on the embarkation day. Apparently on a previous Disney cruise, one of the officers took the bear onto the bridge and took photos of it there...

Good morning, Happy Cruisers!

Sad to be home, cruisers . . . Yesterday, it even rained and was grey all day, duplicating my mood. I spent several happy hours remembering as I edited my photos. It's going to take quite a few more hours. Even though I didn't get snap happy, I still had over 2K.

For all the service issues, in my opinion, this cruise went better than the Panama Canal crossing on the Wonder. For us, whatever hiccups we had early on DID improve as time passed.

Who's done unpacking? not me!

Chris.....the only one I feel upset for is the server that got "blessed out!" IMHO I think it's ridiculous that a server, who is kept busy enough serving all thoses "humans" at their assigned tables, has to also cater to a frickin' bear! If the lady lugged it all over the ship, Castaway Cay, and possibly other port events, why couldn't she carry her own bear to the table. Please don't get me started with the bear having it's own seat, food, drink........UGH! :scared1: I'm all for having fun if she wanted to bring a small bear, but not a bear of such hugh proportions that other people have to help out with it *getting off my soapbox now*. There! I feel better now! ;)

Wow I haven't had a spare second till now to check in--stayed 3 days in parks and then came home to a whirlwind of work-related issues. Finally able to log on and say how grateful I am to all you sweet, funny, loud, joyous DIS'ers who made our trip unforgettable!

Big shout-out to early seating TABLE 23 I miss you so! Stan and I just sit and look at each other at our kitchen table and wonder where everyone went! I tried to fold a paper napkin. . . it was so pitiful. . . no 3 appetizers, 2 entree's, and a SWEET TEMPTATIONS dessert. . .

Hope everyone is well, hale, hearty, and home safely soon!

Here's to 2013 WBTA rides again!

Are you serious?? The server got chewed out because he wasn't there to carry the bear to the table? That nuts. I thought it was crazy she carried that thing everywhere. I brought my "small" bear to dinner on Mickey Mouse Club night only because he had a Mickey Mouse Club shirt on. Other than that he stayed in the cabin. And people call me a child. Yikes. Putting food in front of it was crazy. There is not enough wasting of food on cruise ships? I'm with you Deb, don't get me started.

Karen......same here! I've been waiting ffor four nights for someone to pull my chair out, put the napkin in my lap, serve up my appetizer, soup, entree, and DEFINITELY my sweet temptations dessert......and alas.....nothing! Does this mean there is no more MAGIC and I will have to start fixing dinner?????? EWWWWWWW!

We are missing all our DIS friends terribly and the Magic as well. Warren, we adored your magic tricks and would love to know how you did those wonderful tricks! We are anxiously waiting to hear about 2013!

Hi everyone.

We're back home now after a very long day traveling yesterday. Didn't get back till late last night. Caught up with girls & dogs.

Just like to thank everyone we met for being so lovely and helping make our cruise a very memorable one! We didn't get to meet lots of people.

x

GOOD Morning, Happy Cruisers!

Another grey, rainy day in the north east. I am going to order some photos and upload some to facebook. At least I can see sunshine in Memories.

Table 23 - I miss you!

Happy Day, all!

We are experiencing ridiculously high temperatures 28 - 30 degrees, for the time of year in the UK. Great because it reminds me of the weather on the cruise and Florida, but not so good in a stuffy uniform driving about in the car all day visiting clients. I had put fleeces and coats in the car for when we landed at Manchester, instead I got off the plane and I thought we had landed somewhere else :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Missing everyone ..... especially the guys from table 67 / 68 / 69 :hug::hug:

Now when are we having that reunion :yay::yay:

Hi everyone, I have not had time to get on here since I got back either. I came home to a really rough week. First off a friend of ours was killed in a motorcycle accident... then we got news my MIL has a blockage in her jugular vein and she is too weak for surgery. Our son called to tell us he was heading for Iraq, (good news there, he didn't have to go after all) We then got news our daughter was in labor and only at 25 weeks. Yesterday afternoon she gave birth to a baby boy weighing 1lb 13 oz. He is in the NICU unit in critical condition.

On a lighter note... We had an awesome trip cruising with all of you. It was so nice meeting everyone. All the FE and SM gifts were just awesome! I loved each and every one of them... and the candy was wonderful!

Our scuba dive in Tortola was wonderful. Thanks to all of you that joined me. We did have a nice day of diving.

I hope you all had a safe trip home and hopefully I will see many of you on a future cruise....
