*Sept 10th 2011 WB Transatlantic* - From Spain to Space Mountain - Part 6

count me in on THAT phone tree!
can imagine this turning into a wave phone flash mob! ("quick, mary's at the bar" - next thing you know the whole ship will be there within five minutes!!)

This had me giggling :rotfl:

With one phone call at the top of the phone tree the Magic sells out of its advertised:drinking1 drink of the day! :drinking1

Same here! I believe I've mentioned living in the cultural wasteland of the universe, where getting "dressed up" means removing one's baseball cap. Dennis and I plan to dress to the nines - formal, semi-formal, Palo, Villians - any excuse we can find.

I'm up to 6 dresses - so far. Practical? What's that mean? :confused3 This is why I'm buying that second checked bag.

Between Margaret's 21 dresses and your 6, I told Ed I have to step up my game plan ... now I'm off to Ross to see if I can find some bargains on dresses :goodvibes

I am sorry to be a party pooper, but I am going to wear trousers as well. :upsidedow

:lmao: :lmao:

Do they still make Airborne? :confused3 I thought they stopped making it after this: http://www.sciencebasedmedicine.org/index.php/airborne-admits-false-advertising/

My husband travels for his work and he used to take it but he stopped a few years ago after all that came out...

Yep, they still make and sell a lot of it, I suppose. I work with a nurse who absolutely swears by it, so there are supporters. I'm skeptical of those type of products in general; however, I do occasionally use it when everyone around me is sick....thinking the extra vitamins can't hurt (yes, I know, unless taken in large quantities) and may actually help :confused3.

:lmao::lmao: I want to make sure that we are on that phone list!!!! if there's alcohol involved, we're in :banana:

On the subject of animals not liking it when you leave them. Our 2 cats hate it as soon as the cases come out. One will try and sneak herself inside the bag to stow away with you. The other thinks that if he drapes himself over the top of the case then you wouldnt possibly be able to pack anything so will just stay at home!!

This is Poppy last year the night before we went away. I think she took the " if you're going, then i'm coming too approach!"

Cute pic of Poppy. :goodvibes

Don't worry Karen, I bought one dress & i'm not even sure I will wear it!

Now, I totally know what you meant, but this is a great example of an oxymoron. :lmao: That would be a heck of a long wire!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Does everyone still want me to do a phone tree? If so, I will be sure to put both on the front page and the DIS Navigator. Problem is we have to wait until almost the last minute as some people still do not have stateroom numbers.

That might be a good idea Noel :thumbsup2

A quick update on the tastings.

I have just had an email from DCL we are short for the Mojito Group 2 so either a shuffle round or we have to drop the group altogether. There are 9 and we need a min of 25.
Obviously the dates/days might not suit everyone!!! :guilty:
No confirmation on the dates for the other 3 yet.

Hey everyone! I'm not even going to try to catch up right now - page 25 - WOW!!! We had to go up to Kiev and we just got back, had a busy week of work for DH Ken and Morgan and I got to relax a bit. It is going to be very hard to get back to "real life" now for 2 weeks before the cruise.

I still have to finish up my FE gifts and get all my candy for the candy swap together. Not to mention I haven't even started thinking of what we will pack. I'm so jealous of those of you who are so organized and have your packing done or even started! :worship:

Will try to catch up, but not sure if I'll be able to tonight.

You sound like Lee....I guess I won't have much choice!

Hey if i have to wear a dress (and i never wear dresses) then yes so do youQ :goodvibes

We have brought our candy for the swap many many times now, but the real mystery is that when i go to organise it, ITS ALL GONE :scared1:!! I need to sort it this weekend and then lock it away! (yum yum)

Think I am going to order our Euros this afternoon - I am thinking that €200 should be enough for miscellaneous things that we can not put on a credit card. Current rate through B of A is showing $1.5195.

Just checking things off the packing list and hoping to pick the brains of the regular DCL cruisers.

1. Do staterooms have hairdryers? And if so are they adequate? (stayed in hotels before and it would have been better to run around fast than use the hairdryers provided!!)

2. What type of sockets are in the staterooms? I'm assuming they will be the 2 pin US 110v sockets.

3. Does anyone know where in the UK you can get the door hanging storage thingys. Tried IKEA and they looked at me like I was speaking a different language.

Hope you guys can help,

Not long now :cool1::cool1:

Thanks in advance

Paul, Helen & Grace

Hello Paul

There are hairdryers in the bathroom - those wall type hose things that I hate but they kind of do the job as long as you aren't too fussy. Long hair will take ages to dry.

Some people have said there are UK and US sockets in the cabin - this is NOT so....NO UK sockets. They are the normal US sockets

Have a look at Debenhams on line and other sites for those hanging toilet bags or you may find a small shoe hanging thingy - depends on what you are looking for.

just sent the last few PMs out with the remaining secret mickey recipients. have now assigned all people involved, the final cabin count is 33 :) not a bad turnout!

and just wanted to repeat - still two places available on the airport to port shuttle. 10 euros per person, PM me if interested

Yes ..... hoping that everyone out there affected stays safe and that damage is minimal. I am really anxious about it with my daughter being out there in Florida, but I imagine being with Disney they will make sure the
employees stay safe. Doesn't stop me worrying though :scared1:

Not to worry about your daughter. I can tell you that we had no more then a few quick rain showers and a little wind but honestly our normal afternoon storms are a lot worse then what we got here in Orlando from Irene. I am praying that everyone in Irene's path stays safe.

It looks like this has been answered but just wanted to say that the hairdryers are fine if you have fine hair but if you have really thick and/or curly hair I would suggest bringing your own.

7 more days of work left:cool1::yay::yay::yay: Glad Irene is going to go through this weekend and not next weekend because that could have really messed up all of our flight plans.

I guess we've got overkill in the US - I had my first flu shot at age 6 mos (back in 1961). I didn't have them every year since then - there have probably been entire decades when I didn't get one.

That's all that happened last year, it wasn't an event as such, just a themed night. Lots of people just wore their Mickey Mouse t-shirts and ears to dinner that evening :thumbsup2

Thanks to you and Cliffy! I couldn't remember back that far what the Mickey mouse club thing was except that there was a shirt involved. I thought it used to be on the 1st or 2nd page but damned if I could find it again. :rotfl:
