ATTENTION ALL FE PARTICIPANTS!!


I've had one person ask me about signing up for the FE since the cutoff date. I know we said any late-comers would be on a separate list, but what if no one else signs up?

I can see a couple of possibilities here. I'd like opinions from everyone who has signed up as to what you would prefer.

A) I could just add them to an existing group. This would mean one group has 21 cabins instead of 20.

B) I could make a new group consisting of people who volunteer to be on this list. Chances are, many of the people will already be on multiple lists, so there may be quite a bit of overlap.

C) I could tell them they will have to take their chances with the late list.

It's one adult and one child. I, personally, have no problem with either A or B. I'm already making 120 adult gifts, so one more is neither here nor there for me, and I have extra kid gifts anyway. BUT... I know luggage space, budget, and time are problematic for some people and one more gift is just not possible. So...

Please let me know what you think I should do. If you vote for option B, it doesn't necessarily mean that you are volunteering. If this is what we do though, and you would like to volunteer for the list, you can PM me. Also, if you prefer not to voice your preference publicly, you are welcome to PM me.

No hard feelings, whatever you think or decide! But please let me know quickly so I can take care of the details.

I have managed to organise the same deal as we had last year on the pre-cruise HRC gathering ... basically we will get the use of a downstairs room for drinks, which we can get at the discounted price of 3 euros for a soda, and 6 euros for a local beer / glass of wine.

We need to meet up at 6:30 pm outside of the hard rock and we will have wristbands given to us for the reduced drink prices.

I also need to know how many people are planning on eating their evening meal at the Hard Rock, so I can let them know how many tables to set up for dining.

So could you please let me know if you plan to eat there. Thank you :thumbsup2

Yay :banana::banana: we got ours today, and I did try to open them but lol I just didn't have the strength so DH had to do it !! I just think I was overcome with excitment:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

And guess what we are staying at the London City Travelodge, but at the moment not sure when we plan to arrive, because we are getting a lift from Dover.Maybe we should PM to arrange a meet at airport/exchange mobile no /or we could always just wear micky ears or maybe not !!

And you are right that you may not get anybody esle sign up. But I suppose in the end you will have to have some cut off

The Magic Pub Crawl 2011

Chris&Jeremy and I (Cliffy97 - Dan & Bruce) are hosting the Magic Pub Crawl.

This will be held on: Thursday 15 September @ Starting at 13:00 - 17:00.

The Route for the crawl will be:

Diversions
Rockin Bar D
Promenade Lounge
Signals
Cove Cafe


Those who are interested would meet in one of the bars for (Traditionally a half pint pounded, I would suggest a drink of your choice) and then visit (Crawl) every other bar on the ship at least once.

As we do not have to worry about anything closing or how we are getting home, I would imagine we can spend 20-30 min at each location versus the 5-10 min you have on the monopoly pub crawl in London.


Also, Please remember that you do not have to sign up and you may join for all or part. Really the more the merrier. The sign up is really just more for us to see who willbe with us :)

Just called virgin to see if they were holding our cruise documents hostage and the lady explained that we would receive them 7-10 days before we travel!!!!! Not happy about that thinks I.
So I ask do you actually have them in your possession as people are receiving theirs and I would quite like ours.

"hang on a minute and I'll have a word with the ticket people"

Off she goes, few minutes later she comes to explain they have to send things out in date order and they are still sending summer holiday tickets out. BUT her ticket lady said she will kindly post them either today or tomorrow so we can have them early!!

Yep, surprise I'm home. Sorta. It took so long because as usual I ran into the "you don't fit the standard protocol and thus it's all in your head"-arrogance. Not fitting protocols is standard with my condition but that seems to hold little value. On thursday evening I decided to call it quits and run my own show bascially (read; was given the "amnesty" while awaiting the psychiatrist being called in :rolleyes1 ). Lo and behold, following the path I took previously when getting started with my feedingpump worked once again, just doesn't fit protocol. Within 4 days I was back to both drinking enough AND getting (more) enough calories. Took me until today to get back to my original pumpschedule, but that's less important. Thankfully had an amazing religious worker (and aren't even religious :laughing: ) who kept me sane and opened my eyes.

My case was dealt with so poorly on all fronts that he also discussed it very carefully with some higher staff and I was given the message to please put my experience in writing, amongst others by the head of the complaints board. Apparently both the "it's in your head"-abuse and lack of proper care in some areas is happening more and more and they're seeing the hospital being damaged but can't really do anything about it because nobody dares to speak up officially. One day I will, but for now all is put into recovering. To be honest; it's been a bit of a challenging time and am still finding out about more and more mistakes being made. Amongst others I dealt with a temporary halfsided paralyses due to untreated low bloodsugars, (still) got very bad vitamine deficiencies that GP and/or hospital didn't pick up on etc. etc. We're trying to get things clear and treated but it's hard work to do so when nobody seems to be able to not make huge mistakes.

Knock on wood the help and aids I'm trying to arrange isn't too overly expensive. If that's the case, I'm planning on hitting WDW in december 2011. Plans were 1st-22nd but looks like it'll be 5th-22nd. If so and anybody else will be there; would love to see if we can arrange a mini-meet.

On FEs, I am fine with just one more person if it comes to our group as well. I counted us in our 20 cabins so I have extra gifts.

On the cell phones, depending on what kind of phone you have it may not work at all in Europe. You really should talk to your cell phone provider. If you do not have GSM functionality on your current cell phone it will not work in Europe. When we lived in the states (2008) many phones did not have this, especially if you have Verizon. If you phone does have this functionality, you will need to find out what the international roaming charges are for both data and phone. It is likely to be VERY expensive given our experience. The United States is way behind on cell phone technology that can be used globally.

In the middle of the ocean, not sure you would even get a signal or which roaming charges my apply. Just my two cents, but isn't the whole point of being in the middle of the ocean to *not* be found??

Word to the wise, talk to the provider before you use the phone cause I would rather spend my hard earned cash on more FABs than email...but that just may be me. ;)

My fed-ex man is a right blether, we were chatting for about 5 mins and he said that they are really short staffed with the summer holidays and staff being away, so he is working longer crazy hours to try to fulfil the deliveries. Maybe that's the reason for your delay too ??

Ihaven't heard that term in years! What a joy1 My Gran used to call me "a right wee blether" The memories just came rolling in. We're from Ayrshire but my Uncle had a brother in Inverness - Frank Hill. He used to say whenever the post card sales dropped off, ther would be a sighting of Nessie. Still the same? Jean

I just got all my FE stuff I ordered in the mail yesterday. :cool1: I think I have a little extra, but even if I don't I can just by something at the dollar store for the extra people, so I'm fine with adding another to our group also.
