We are staying on-sight in early October. Our tickets for MNSSHP have been purchased, for our first full day at the resort. We are merely going to relax at our resort, at least have the 2 YO get a nap prior to the party. There are also a 4 and 6 YO, and 5 adults (2 parents, 3 grandparents).

My daughter (Ie mom of my 3 grandsons) simply cannot make a decision on which parks for our 2nd/3rd days. I personally don’t care, but “if” they ultimately decide on Universal, I do not mind hanging back at the resort with the 2 year old.

So, because my daughter and son-in-law cant make up their minds on which park/which days, how late can we purchase park passes? (Ultimately, the park days were an add-on prior to a cruise, of which I cannot wait for!)

Multi day tickets should be no problem buying up to the last minute (you do run the risk of a price increase).

What about single day passes? Can they be purchased last minute too?

Single-day tickets can be purchased on the day of admission at the ticket booths outside each park. I haven't tried, but I would assume they can also be purchased online and at Disney resorts. There is a small risk that if a park is full, tickets will not be available, but that is unlikely in October.

Well, this should be interesting, the two dates being discussed are October 11 and 12, which due to the holiday on Monday October 13 seems to be making everything crowded!

You can purchase at the gate the day you wish to visit but you will pay more for your tickets than if you purchase in advance.

I would not be concerned with parks being at capacity. You will be fine to purchase even the day you visit but as shared by @cruising spud, you will not be able to purchase and book LLs in advance if you don't have a park ticket.

Good point about the lightning lanes. Perhaps I basically tell my daughter and son-in-law to let me know by about 10 days in advance what Disney park they want tickets for (and which day) and who needs lightning lane passes, and let it go from there.

Absolutely. It always amazes me to see people at the ticket windows buying tickets - like, you just stopped on a whim? I always think of some people who just happen to be driving through Orlando. They stop at a gas station - "So, what's there to do around here?" "Well, pal, there's this little amusement park up the road...." 🤣 "It's 25,000 acres - can't miss it!"

Why not buy a 2-day ticket which doesn’t need them to decide which park. It’s valid for any 4 days from the start date. Unless they want LLs they don’t need to pre-plan exact park days — and if they are that laissez-faire about planning which park which day it will likely be torture to get them to decide what specific rides at what time so LL may not be a concern.

I think it's that the kids haven't decided whether they want to do two WDW days or 2 universal days or one of each.

Yep…this is exactly the problem. (Bonus for me…if they go to Universal, I’ll be hanging back at Coronado Springs with the little guy (just turned 2).
