I haven't followed this closely, did she get off with an insanity plea? There is insanity somewhere in that courtroom

Nope. Just plain old "not guilty."

At one point her lawyers asked that she be tested for competency to stand trial. Three psychologists/psychiatrists found her competent. Too bad she didn't try NGRI - those tend to backfire on defendants.

I could see them not convicting her of 1st degree, but I thought they'd at least find her guilty of manslaughter or on the child endangerment charge.

I know she stole her friend's checkbook and forged a bunch of checks, but I don't know if she was ever charged with it. Maybe they can get her on that.

Hi Noel,

its damn shocking that verdict. i can only presume that it came more down to lack of direct evidence (apparently it was mostly circumstantial). because lets face it, there's something going on in that family.

pat, not sure if its intentional or not, but you've put me in port canaveral instead of castaway cay. CC leaves me with exactly the right amount of FE gifts, but PC leaves me a couple short.

Oops. Okay. I have to run to work now. I'll fix this for you tonight. Sorry about that.

Has anyone done the Exotic Rasul treatment at the Spa? I booked it for one of the sea days b/c I heard it was, ahem, entertaining. It's also way less than the couples cabana massage we did last year, which imho, was not worth the cost.

The Exotic Rasul is what you make of it... My hubby and I LOVE it... we do it at least 1 or 2 times during the long cruises... it is a better deal for your money and you get to have as much fun as you want. The sauna is hot so we kept the sauna door open that seems to work pretty well. You don't spend that much time in the sauna. The other room was cold so opening the sauna helped warm it up. In other words... you can sorta control the temp in the rooms with the sauna door open, shut or opened a little.

This is a spa treatment not to be missed if you are a couple. DH like is as much if not more than I do. Have fun ladies.... and gents....

PM me if you have any questions on it.....

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: All this talk of onboard spend .... I hope my DH doesn't see this otherwise will not make it onboard in first place. Does anyone know what a TA spa pass for whole curise will cost ? , because DH won't come to find me in the spa..... :rotfl2: so just wondering what price escape?

Margaret

I think I've read that its $75 for a 7 day cruise, so I can only assume that the pass is $150 for a 14 day cruise. REALLY enjoyed the spa rooms on my last cruise on the Carnival Magic - their steam rooms were aromatherapy and so lovely - so I hope that the facilities are nice on Disney as I didn't even check them out on our last cruise.

We go to the new thread at 200 right? Please post a link to the new one when available. Thanks again to those organizing the threads, you are awesome!

No it's at 250 pages, so we're good for a while yet. :thumbsup2

We just talk so damn fast here that I normally have to start getting the new thread ready at about page 175 to make sure it's ready in time! Actually really behind this time because I've been I'll, but the next 50 pages probably won't last us more than a week or so!

Oops!

So the new thread tomorrow then?

Anyone on this thread love cheese? I LOVE cheeses big time and I've recently discovered one that is so amazing, I think its one of my all time favorites. Its an espresso rubbed cheese called Bellavitano Sartori - so so good. And with a glass of red wine, even better! :lovestruc

UN - FREAKING - BELIEVABLE!!!!!!

:scared1: :scared1: :sad2: :sad2:

She'll get a max of 4 years for lying to police, and she's already served 3. Wow. That's justice for you. So who the h### killed the child?? Did she chloroform and duct tape herself??? And put herself in the trunk of Casey's car to rot??? And jump out into the swamp???

OMG, now her sleaze-bag lawyers are on talking about how the media assassinated Casey's character. UGH!!

I have to go pick up my "kids" from doggie-daycare. I can't watch any more of this travesty.
I couldn't believe it either...:sad2:just to sad...feel bad for Caylee that justice wasn't served

I didn't follow this trial but my niece says there is a mass posting on FB for people to turn their porch light on tonight at 9PM in their time zone as a remembrance for the little girl.

Count me in! We just had friends over this weekend and I always include wine and cheese! (We had an English cheddar, a bleu cheese and a goat cheese).

I was excited to see that you can get a cheese plate delivered via room service on the ship anytime. I think I'm in heaven!

(I have often said that I could NEVER give up cheese!)

If you have an adventurous spirit and want to have a great time with your partner, go for it. If you're looking for a typical spa treatment, don't bother. This was the only thing other than Palo that I couldn't wait to book ;). I had no complaint about the cost...well worth it.

We did it on Celebrity. And yes, we behaved. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but Curt prefers not to do it again. The steam/heat just wiped him OUT! He went back to the cabin and slept for three hours! I still want to do it again though, but have not been able to coerce him.

Maybe if you promise NOT to behave.......just sayin'......!

I have thought about surprising Ed with this, but most reports I've read have said that it is really hot .. as in the temperature of the room! We don't really love saunas, do you think we would enjoy the rasual?

Last year was our first experience with DCL; we booked the EB Jan 30th for the April 10 sailing. Larry researched everything except the spa, so I booked the ER and surprised him with it. I had no idea what to expect (he, of course, didn't have a clue what an ER was) and I will say it was a bit intimidating at first. Just getting comfortable in the room and worrying about the time factor detracted from the mood a little bit, but it really was a great time. Yes the sauna is hot, but it was a beautiful room and not unpleasant for a short time (I am definitely not normally a sauna person). The outer area with the bench and shower was cooler/quite comfortable. Larry absolutely loved it! We were celebrating our 30th anniversary (early...our 31st will be this Sat :lovestruc), so it was a great unexpected gift for him.

I can't believe she got off!!!!!! :sad2:

Too shocking for words. My only consolation is that society will never let her forget, and she will never have a normal life. God help her if she ever has another child :sad2:....the world will be watching.

Mandy: Earlier mentioned that I needed the dinghy to get to shore, but that is NOT the case as I didn't realize it was so close to shore. I will be able to make it in, and will gladly let someone with children or much more in need than I.
