What they showed on TV never seemed like they were actually proving her guilty. Her stories to cover up everything certainly would make you believe it, though, but the legal evidence may have been shaky.

I think someone in that family is responsible - by their hand - for what happened. And who would bury their beloved child if they drowned accidentally? Not call 911? Well, maybe she was drunk/stoned, whatever, and thought she would get in trouble.

I don't trust her father at all; I think he is either the culprit or his treatment of Casey over the years is at the core of this family's problems.

That's why I said, not 1st degree murder, but certainly reckless child endangerment (whatever the charge was). The jury had the option of finding her guilty of manslaughter, if not 1st degree. Personally, I think going out partying for a month while your child is supposedly missing constitutes neglect.

My folks have followed this from the very beginning - when Caylee was first reported missing. They live about 2 miles from the Anthony's. When no one could locate the imaginary nanny, and the mom called about the smell in the car and how she hadn't seen Caylee for a month, they pretty much decided Casey did something. She also talked about Caylee in the past tense before her body was discovered, and in the jail videos where she's talking to her parents, her concern was all about herself and not about Caylee. She even said something like, everyone's concerned about Caylee - what about me. What kind of mother says that when her child is (supposedly) missing??

As for her father, if he had abused her, why would she allow her child to be around him? As a rule, abuse victims keep their children away from their abusers. If anything, her mother probably helped her cover it up, once she knew what happened. She certainly lied enough in court to cover for Casey. Her father may have lied about his affair, but not about Caylee. It seems like her mom always let her off the hook for things and her dad tried to make her be responsible for her actions.

My dad's theory is that Casey went out partying and didn't have anyone to watch Caylee, so she drugged her to make her sleep, left her in the car, something terrible happened, and she had to cover it up. That's not an accident, that's child endangerment. My ex-SIL used to do things like that to my niece (not the drugging, but leaving the child in the car) when she wanted to be with a boyfriend.

Funny thing is, I'm usually such a "bleeding heart liberal," willing to give the benefit of the doubt, anti-death penalty, but Casey just disgusts me. She doesn't seem to be the least bit sorry that her daughter is gone and never has been.

I was wondering if any of you that have previously done the WBTA or EBTA would be willing to share how much you spent onboard over the 14 days. Obviously this will vary based on how much you drink, like to shop, etc, but I am just trying to get a ballpark.

We will be calling DCL in advance to put an OBC onto our shipboard account - we'll get six months 0% interest for doing this using our Disney Visa - so I'd like to preferably prepay as much as possible so it qualifies for the no-interest deal. Not sure how much to tell them to put on the account so I was hoping to gather some data from others.

Thanks - Chris

Our bill came to just over $1200, not bad considering that the tips, 3 x exotic rasuls, 11 day wine plan, quite a few drinks around the pool on sea days plus of course trying new cocktails at dinner, brunch and tea at Palo, a few bits of jewellery bought whilst on board, hair cuts and internet charge made up that amount. Didn't do any DCL excursions though, David and I decided to venture out on our own whilst in port.

In fact last year we done the B2B, (10 day Med cruise before the WBTA) for 24 days we spent about $2200, we were so surprised that we had to check the bills quite a few times. What made it even better was that the exchange rate for the Aussie dollar was good (and this year it is even better).

Hello everybody! I haven't been on the board lately, I've been super busy with work and graduating university. After much deliberation and excellent deal with disney/priceline, i decided to bite the best feeling bullet ever. I'm officially a proud owner of a WBTA interior room, yet to be assigned! Its going to be great to be on the ship.

Now its time to dig out the passport and sort through of these threads! Definitely up for a pj breakfast. So excited to figure out the cruise details!

Welcome onboard

Count me in! We just had friends over this weekend and I always include wine and cheese! (We had an English cheddar, a bleu cheese and a goat cheese).

I was excited to see that you can get a cheese plate delivered via room service on the ship anytime. I think I'm in heaven!

(I have often said that I could NEVER give up cheese!)

Here's a photo of the cheeseboard from room service DH had on our med cruise, he said that the portion wasn't that big, so get one each :cool1:

Karen, if you have not done this you should. It is a must try!... If the sauna is too hot or the room too cold, open the door. That is what we did. Ok I should set it up for you. There is a room you go into, they have you lock the door, It has a shower, large tile bench and is all tiled.. floor and wall. It will get quite wet in this room. There is an adjoining sauna. Very nice and it has cool off water hoses in there. You can open that door to adjust temp. Go have fun with it....

I can't do dry heat and saunas, I thought that the hot room was a steam room?

As I say, not usually my thing, but I enjoyed it, the water hoses are a great help if the steam gets too hot :scared1::lmao:

While I was uploading the cheese platter photo, I came across the other photos of the food we ordered from room service. Here's an idea of some of the things you can have too :

We used room service on the day we were docked at Naples, as we got back at just after 2 pm and Lumieres had closed at 1.30 and Topsiders at 2 pm

Morning everyone
I have a huge favour to ask of any of the US disers. I use alot of these http://www.gas-x.com/products-strips.shtml as I struggle with heartburn when drinking alcohol and eating yummy food :sad2:

I won't have enough to get me through the cruise until we get to Orlando to restock. So my favour is .... would anyone be happy to pick me up a box that I can collect from you once onboard and I will pay through paypal straight away? It's the only thing that helps me and don't want to onboard for 2 weeks without them. Would be very grateful :worship:

GOOD Morning, Happy Cruisers!

Lovely weather day today in the great north east. I'm busy packing for my weekend - we're having a Disboards meet on Friday, "roommates meet" on Saturday :), and Sunday, driving up to Boston to the Chihuly exhibit (designer of the Magic atrium chandelier).

Yesterday, I called Chase about the credit card. They sent me over to special services who said yes, they had had some reports of cards not being accepted at certain places (including some automatic ticket machines) in Europe.

However, they had little to offer by way of work arounds. The only card Chase has with a chip is their JPMorgan card, which has an annual fee associated with it. And that, apparently, is one of only 2 in this country that offer chip technology.

MY personal work around is going to be 'cash'. I'm going to buy the number of Euros (at AAA) I think I'll need for my three days in Spain - any leftovers will go on my shipboard account or be spent in St. Maarten.

Happy Day All!

Linda, we went to the UK and France in 2009 (and I was in the UK, France and the Netherlands in 2006) and never had a problem using a credit card EXCEPT for what you mentioned - purchasing RER tickets at an automated machine in Paris.

Actually I couldn't get the machine to work with my card and the booth was closed when we were trying to get to CDG airport, so we got on the train and ended up riding without paying. The whole time I kept waiting to get busted by a conductor and fined - I'm sure they would either not care that the booth wasn't open or believe me.

We never saw a conductor on the entire trip to the airport. I was also holding my breath as we exited the train at the airport, because I was expecting to have to insert the ticket to get the gates to open (as you have to do in most Metro stations is Paris) - and obviously we didn't have one.

Luckily you just walked right off the train into the terminal.

Don't call the French police on me - I'll deny it until the end. :)

I am so envious of your trip to the Chihuly exhibit!!!! I love his work, I went to the V&A museum in London on Monday to see the piece he has there. Please can you share some photos when you get back? :flower3:

can anyone tell me about carrying liquor or wine onboard? Is Disney really a stickler or will they let us carry some on?

Disney does not care how much liquor you bring on board. We had a suitcase packed with nothing but liquor and it weighed 50lbs :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: You would think we were alcoholics...lol Many of the EBTAers brought lots of liquor and we meet at Promenade lounge every night around 10:30 and shared drinks and socialized til around 1 or 2 AM! :dance3: We would take our glass of wine to dinner and there was no problems with that. However as mentioned before, if you take the bottle to dinner, you will be charged a $18 uncorking fee...:scared1:

I never thought of keeping that door open! I might have to book it and ask forgiveness later.... :rotfl: maybe Celebrity just made it too hot, especially with the door closed.

Opening the door helps so much! If that was the only issue, you can control that. Go for it... you will enjoy it. It is easier to ask forgiveness later :rolleyes1 than to ask permission.... hehe.....

we've never sailed on disney before even though we've taken several other cruises. everyone says, you've got to do disney. so here we are, sept on disney for the first time. hope it's as great as we've been told

You will not be disappointed! Welcome and I know you will love the cruise!

I can't do dry heat and saunas, I thought that the hot room was a steam room?

You are correct it is a wet sauna.... aka.. steam room.

I would be more than happy to bring you some. I so know how you feel. Have you ever tried Prevacid? it is over the counter here. I had reflux and sever heartburn for about 20 years before I had surgery to correct it last year. The only thing that gave me any relief was the prevacid. I will have some with me if you want to try it. It last 24 hours so one a day and your good to go.

I couldn't believe it either...:sad2:just to sad...feel bad for Caylee that justice wasn't served

Too shocking for words. My only consolation is that society will never let her forget, and she will never have a normal life. God help her if she ever has another child :sad2:....the world will be watching.

Yes it is disappointing that justice will not be served here on earth, but I firmly believe that if she is guilty she will pay for her crimes in the hereafter. "the revenger of blood shall slay the murderer, when he meeteth him."

Have you tried Gorganzola Dolce? I saw it in the market the other day & the thought of a milder creamy blue cheese is appealing to me. I like to pair blues w/ honey or fruit conserve so a really salty one doesn't work for that. Also love Walnut Gourmandaise for pairing w/ conserve! So when is the cheese tasting onboard? (I wish!!)

What other cruises have you taken? We've done a few other lines, but Disney is really another animal altogether.

If it helps you feel more confident, lots of people on this thread have taken the transatlantic on Disney and are doing it for the second or third time. :thumbsup2
We did the TA last year and loved it so we had to book again!

I see that Jill has already responded - if that doesn't work out for some reason, I would be happy to bring these for you. Just let me know.

We had a few cookies here and there..... and a glass of champagne afterwards.
How about you and Gary? Did you do the Razul?

Oh we've been on a cookie diet lately, but that's another story...

Ahhhh... We had so many of those over time...they became a cruise staple! But, ours also always had a slice of blue cheese. Either my computer can't see it or it's been eaten...or....say it isn't so.... that you didn't get one? We are big blue cheese fans. Favorite in our neck of the woods is Pt Reyes Blue - pricey, but worth it. :goodvibes

Good times....we are all still good friends after that cruise & lots of us are doing a reunion on this one - can't wait!!

But flying to Barcelona & getting in late, may just put a cramp in my carrying on the usual...! :sad2:

Cookieholic here - every night on the PC cruise my roommate and I had tea and cookies before bed. Not just A cookie. 6 between the two of us (where's that blushing smilie?)
