just wondering, i know final payment is due on 13th may, but when is the cut off for being able to cancel and still get all your money back?
reason i ask is that we found out yesterday that gary's dad's tumour is back, i dont know at the moment what the prognosis is, so wondering what the absolute cut off for refunds is.

Sorry to hear about Gary's dad. I hope the prognosis is good, but it is worrying all the same.

I do know there are a few weeks before you start losing money, but can't remember offhand.

There's only one sea day, so looks like we're not getting to eat in Palo on that cruise, will need to just wander up to Palo for a nosey to see what the difference is from the Magic

Sorry the reservations were gone, same thing happened to us on 5 nighter, you can check once you're on board, I know they don't release all the tables online. You can also call daily to see if someone cancelled or get on a waiting list.

Sarah, we took the cable car up the first time and walked back down. We did encounter a few apes on the way back down sitting on various ledges, but they didn't come anywhere near us. We are all doing the dolphin trip first thing in the morning, but someone said to me, the earlier in the day you go the better as they can get more aggitated later in the day. The walk back down was nice, but I would recommend taking a bottle of water with you, the rock is very steep to walk down and takes as much out of you as walking up.

The cable car is not pleasant, I had my eyes shut all the way up and down last year, I just saw it as a necessary evil so that I could see the fantastic views from the top as it was such a clear day. I'll happily give it a miss this time :rotfl:

Can you walk up and down the mountain? Do you have any idea how long that might take?

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: opps looks like I need a few mutli quotes lessons again !!!
or maybe I need an afternoon nap:rotfl2::rotfl2:

I practiced multi-quoting by previewing. Try hitting "preview post" next to "submit reply" It can help you learn where you are going wrong on the multi replies. Mostly you have to be sure that someone elses quote is within the two quote brackets eg "
" Your reply goes after the quotes.

Sorry to hear Gary's dad is not doing well  as for refunds I think it depends on what category you are in.

 :goodvibes I guess I can't write that out without it quoting ...

example (QUOTE=poohluv2u;40793801) and (/QUOTE) and your reply goes after the quotes

I see where you're going wrong,

You deleated the first part of the quoted message (which is totally fine) but in doing so you must have inadvertently deleated one of the square brackets at the beginning of the quote,

Each quote begins with a code like this

Those square brackets are awfully important if you mistakenly remove them it causes all sorts of problems

I know, as I done it too in the past

There is also a similar

/QUOTE

At the end of the quote again with square brackets [] be sure to leave that intact too.

Hope that helps

SW

Thank you for that, I shall try to pay more attention and preview first...computers aren't my strong point or anything technical for that matter !!

As my Mum always says "practice makes perfect". You'll be the expert, and the envy of all your friends by the time we board the ship ;)

It would help if the DISboards would highlight the quote in color like it does when it's posted .. but maybe that's not possible :confused3

So sorry to hear about Gary’s dad, I know how it feels to wait for a prognosis of that like. It is so hard on everyone concerned. My thoughts are with you and your family xx

Must confess, however, I am going to Hawaii :yay::yay: for two weeks and stay in my relatives townhouse while they are cruising for 42 days!! My plans are very low key----read about London and decide on things to do, watch Disney movies, :happytv:, do some scrapbooking (bringing one whole suitcase with supplies) walks on the beach, sit in the jacuzzi, etc.. Of course, keeping up with the boards is imperative. :surfweb:

Have a good day everyone.

YEAH for you! Which Island are you going to? What a great time and place to scrap! I will have to spend some time picking your brain for tidbits after the trip too, because we're on next years Hawaii cruise.

Oh, dear. So sorry to hear that, Karen. I don't know the cut off, but just a reminder - be sure your trip insurance is in order.

hi, hope everyone is having a good day, i have made adr's for our first day and not sure if i have made our lunch one too early, we are staying at pofq after the cruise and was just wondering what time the disney bus left to take us there, thanks susie

You should be there in plenty of time for lunch. Where is your adr?

Karen -- our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

We did the WWII tunnels in Gibralter last year when we stopped to take pictures of the apes in the am.. We had an ape that opened the window and climb in the van and started blaring the horn. I will check and see if I still have the video to post this weekend. It was very funny.:rotfl:

I'm so sorry to hear that. We have a dear friend who has been fighting prostate cancer for years. He had an exam recently and his PSA was way too high. But his tests lately have been very promising, so we're all hoping for the best. We'll keep Gary's dad in our thoughts and prayers, too.

Here's the info on cancellation, from the DCL website. Unless you're in a suite or concierge (is there a difference?) you have until 90 days before the cruise to cancel w/o any penalty. (The exception is if you reserved one of the "Categories with Restrictions" - the restricted inside, outside or verandah cabins. Those are 100% nonrefundable from the time they were booked. But you would know if you booked one of those.)

Cruises of 10 days or More and Cruises Less Than 10 days where Embark and Debark is non-U.S. Port
Days prior to Vacation Commencement Date Fee Amount
45 days or more Deposit per Guest for Suites/Concierge staterooms
89-45 days Deposit per Guest for Non-Suites/Concierge rooms
44-30 days 50% of vacation price per Guest
29-15 days 75% of vacation price per Guest
14 days or less 100% of vacation price per Guest

Karen, I'm so sorry to hear about Gary's dad. Once you have all the information from DCL regarding payment and cancellation and the doctor's progrnosis it will enable you to make a decision. I have been in this situation and it is challenging. I hope and pray for your family as you walk through these hard days. Sending

Just got back from San Antonio, TX for a week long conference. So glad to be back on the DIS! I've missed so much. I'll update the hotels list tomorrow.

Karen- so sorry to hear about Gary's dad. We'll keep you and your family in our prayers.

Saw someone asked about nursery. We've left DD in the nursery every single cruise. In fact we usually put her in there during our dinner and they put her to bed. We left her the first time when she was 5 months, then 16 months, and 18 months. She loves it. The first day she always fusses for about 30 seconds after we leave but then doesn't seem to care if we ever come back. She does go to day care during the week and has since 7 weeks old so that may help. They did activities with her during the day too. If you have any specific questions let me know.

Last year we were a bit late getting off the ship .. one of the last in fact .. as we were sorting something out at guest services ...or not sorting it out as it turned out. We took the Disney bus to POFQ and arrived there about 11 ish. I think our bus left at about 10am. There will be earlier ones though I'm sure. We were in the Magic Kingdom by 1pm.

So sorry to hear the sad news about Gary's Dad. Having a parent with cancer is an absolute nightmare and such a roller-coaster. Hopefully he will respond to treatment. Sending :hug::hug:

Karen so sorry to hear the news about Gary's dad, our thoughts are with you and hopefully the prognosis will be good

Pat put all the details in previously, I was positive it was 90 days, which will be mid June

I think we'll check when we get onboard and put our name on the waiting list, fingers crossed :)

It took us a good hour to walk back down, we just kept following roads that seemed to look like they were winding down the rock and ended up at the back of the high street and walked down some steep stairs back to where we started. There are lots of side roads everywhere. I wouldn't like to attempt to walk up unless I had a proper map :) but it is do-able

Sending lots of hugs your way, I hope that the prognosis is good. :wizard:

I think I am going to do some planning today, maybe plan out things to do in Barcelona & then look at all the ports. Everything has been so horrible lately what with the burglary & my uncles funeral on Monday, hopefully it will cheer me up. :guilty:
