I'm pretty sure we were starboard on previous cruises..my sense of direction is terrible, this time we're port.

Whenever I get out of the elevators I always let DH go first as I would go the wrong way.

I didn't really think about that. Our two cruises we have been on port side whereas we are starboard this time......oh well, i've got 2 weeks to get used to it. :lmao:

Hi everyone we are also doing the early dining, there are 4 of us! I also wanted to ask those of you who did the WBTA last year if it is possible to make an 11:26 am flight out of MCO or should I go with the 3:02 pm flight? If we can make the 11:26 am flight we can get home a day earlier!!

:lmao: Well it is going to be fun coming across all the lost Dis'ers everywhere!!!

I could be wrong but I seem to remember reading that DCL recommend no flights before 12 midday. However, it could be doable depending on the time you have to be at check in for.

You get in the special grouping for getting off the ship first, but you have to remember that immigration might take longer this time with coming from Europe. It was also a huge mess last time in the baggage/immigration hall with huge lines.

Everyone seems to be deserting us on the Port side. I think I am staying put in 6003 as it should be very quiet as only one cabin further forward than us, so less passing traffic. I will also be needing all the exercise I can get so being so far forward will be good in that respect!

we are still near you sarah, cabin 6015, we wont be changing again now, lots of empty cabins around us now so should be quiet lol

I am so glad you are still my neighbour Susie :thumbsup2 and yes it will be quiet with all the noisy ones deserting to starboard !!

It is Marilyn...do you think we should get ID bracelets made with our name and cabin numbers on, like the ones they have for the kids?:lmao:

I am that bad I can't even follow the Sat Nav instructions...when it says take a right I go to take a left..Good job Neil's there to keep me right:rotfl: There's no hope for me.:rolleyes1

For what it's worth, DCL scheduled our return flight from MCO and it is scheduled at 11:50 AM so that time must be OK with them. If you are really concerned either check the time with DCL or your travel agt if you have one before booking.:banana:

For those of us with E-readers; is it an idea to arrange an exchange of some books aboard? The usage of different types and different types of files doesn't have to be a problem. There are some great programs available like Calibre that can easily format any filetype ebook into another type, so for instance Kindle users can exchange books with Nook users etc. etc.

I'm doubtfull you guys will be lining up for the thousands of books I've got in Dutch ;) but got a couple of hundred english ones also that will be going along anyway (I always travel with my bookfiles in a backup, just in case;) ). I'll be bringing along my netbook anyways so wouldn't mind handing out a copy for those interested.

Another question I've been wondering about; can you get cash onboard and if so, what about the exchange rate? I need some cash dollars for the obvious tipping once we hit Florida. But alas, have run out of the cash we had. I hate to get any cash foreign currency here. The exchange used is a pure rip off, IMHO. So I usually use my creditcard, which gets me the best exchange rate, get myself some cash while in the US and use that. Used up our cash last year with some unexpected last minute bigger tips and am doubtfull I'll be able to use an ATM at PC terminal. Heck, I want some cash for the roomservice tipping. Is it possible to get me some aboard? And what about the exchange rate? To give an idea, if the stock exchange has a rate of €1,- = $1.44 , my creditcard uses a rate of €1,- = $1.41 , using an ATM gives me about 1.38 and buying some $$ at home would give me something along 1.35 :headache: With these I'ld obviously have the best rate if it would be possible to have guest services charge my onboard account (which would get me the creditcard rate) and I get my cash from them. Is that an option, or would I be looking at an ATM or alike option? And which % does DCL use to charge you for this?

Oh and a FE-thing I was wondering about; have we decided yet if we're going with smaller groups or with one big group? I'm asking because I can imagine it can make a huge difference in time needed esp. for those making their gifts themselves.

Gosh I missed all this chat while I was out at Asda :lmao::lmao:

I think we are all playing a game of Musical cabins!!!!! :rotfl2:

I think you should stay where you are!!! You are now next door to me & we can stagger back from dinner together! :lmao: I am in 6507. :thumbsup2

:woohoo::woohoo: I'll stay where I am then :woohoo::woohoo:

I'll follow you so I don't get lost :lmao:

I am definitely staying where I am ... I imagine these 2 cabins will be very noisy !!!! :dance3::dance3::dance3:

Claire and I noisy :confused3 never ..... :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Stevie always hangs back deliberately for a laugh to see which way I go, I usually get it sussed by the end of the 2 weeks :lmao:

Now, of course, one one Celebrity cruise, we were grouped with tablemates, and we learned how to flip our spoon into our glass.... and nobody at the table was under age 30. :rolleyes1

Does that ever sound familiar? :lmao::lmao: On the Med cruise last year my husband was continually trying to one-up our server. Both of them would present their "bigger and better" table trick each night at dinner. It was hilarious! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: (And I'll venture to say no one at our table was under 40!)

have just had an email from postal service in baton rouge to say my zazzle order with my mickeymouse club tshirts on has wrong delivery address on it and i need to pick it up....i wish:rotfl:

I know this probably won't help, but I'll be going through Baton Rouge in about 3 weeks... What a silly solution they suggested to you - were they not even looking at the delivery address? :confused3 But if you decide to go pick up your package, PM me and we'll take you out to dinner in New Orleans. :thumbsup2

thats just you, me and melanie then lol, we seem to be the only early diners :rotfl:

My DH and I are early diners, too! :woohoo:

amanda - i've added you to the secret mickey list :)

trent - sorry i've only just found your message you sent me about the secret mickey, there wont be a set day for delivery, you just do it whenever you want

Hey, just want to clarify, I didn't post that, I was quoting it. For some reason it didn't show up with the yellow background, so I highlighted it to show it was a quote. I can't remember WHO I was quoting, but I don't want to plagiarize anyone.

BTW Does anyone know if we will have to exchange currency in Gibraltar or Tortola? We used US money in St. Thomas, so I'm assuming we can do the same in St. Maarten? Do they offer a way to do this on the ship, or is their someplace as soon as you dock? I know I will have to get some money in Barcelona, but I hope to use US cash or credit card everywhere else. But I think we are just going to rent a taxi on our own in Gibraltar and I will probably have to pay in cash.

i'm quite good with directions so will be able to find the room after 2 or 3 times of being there, gary on the other hand ends up on the wrong side of the ship half the time.
if anyone sees a lost looking scotsman wandering around, please send him in my direction......

gibraltar takes Gib Pounds, but also UK pounds and euros

St. Maarten is easy. You can use US$ but also any euros you've got left from previous ports. The official currency of the French part (St. Martin) is euros but US$ should be of no prob. except for perhaps being dealt a bit less exchange rate. As far as the Dutch part goes (St. Maarten); the official currency there is ANG (antilles guilder) but they are so touristy they'll take both euro and dollars. For both parts of the island; be prepared to get your change in the local official currency though!!

just having a nosey round DCL website - there's three sideways cat 11b's on deck 6 available at the mo: 6019, 6011, 6521
