I am going around decluttering the house in preparation for a yard sale later in July. This will be my first yard sale (it's actually a multi-family yard sale) and I'm getting excited!
One question I have is whether it is appropriate to sell used lotions, shampoos, body wash, etc. Now before you say "Eww gross, I'd never buy that!" I'm not asking whether *you* personally would buy them, but rather do you think *someone* might buy them.
I have a ton of lotions and stuff, mostly that have been given as gifts. I LOVE the idea of using lotion and some of the smells are sooo good, but I guess what it comes down to is that I'm not a lotion girl. I just don't think about using it; I have to make a special effort to use them. So, I have a lot that have been used a bit but still have a good amount left in them. Same goes for shampoo stuff; I just have more than what I really need/want.
It seems a shame to just toss them, but at the same time I don't know whether most people would be turned off by the idea of buying used toiletries like that. I have been reading on different websites on yard sale tips to put out stuff even if you don't think anyone would want it; they say you'd be surprised at what sells. Now, they were talking about gawdy broken salt & pepper shakers and whatnot; I don't know if that applies to toiletries too.
Anyone know if this is an acceptable thing to sell? And if so, how much should they be priced at?
