We're been members since 1995 and are getting ready to sell our 350 OKW points later this year. We used the heck out of
DVC for almost 20 years taking great trips and making great memories.
Now we have decided that vacationing within the restrictive DVC system is no longer of much interest to our family. The last year or so, we realized that, in addition to the high maintenance fee, we were spending heavily on other expenses (airfare, food, tickets) JUST to use our points. When in actuality, we would really rather have taken all that money and vacationed elsewhere. Owning DVC is no longer a 'win' for us; and, no, we're not interested in renting points indefinitely in the hopes that grandchildren pay appear sometime in the distant future.
There's wisdom in knowing when "to hold 'em and when to fold 'em…"
